Xperia X10 :: Can't Get Past Holding The Back Button
Dec 7, 2010
while trying to update to 2.1 i cant get past holding the back button the led goes green for a few moments but then boots up as normal. i follow all instructions as stated, and i have tried both seus and pc companion (uninstalled and deleted se folders for each method) its starting to bug me..... oh its a xperia x10
i have a r800a xperia play but when i go to turn it on it just vibrates after holding the button down for a while but does not turn on , have tried to reflash it but it is not reconised as a device
I was at a party and used my phone for a few minutes 4 hours ago and there was no problem. Battery was 78%. After a while I realized my phone was not turning on. After coming back home I connected it to the wall charger and the light is blinking red. When I hold the start button there is a red light constantly but it won't turn on. Holding volume up and start button also doesn't work and there is no vibration. I tried the yellow reset button near the SIM tray and that didn't work either. My phone had a 16 GB built in memory which was pretty used up (It kept telling me transfer to SD card since memory was above 75%). I was going to buy a microSD card for it but now this happened. Is there something I can do to fix my phone?
My phone came up with a message asking if i wanted to update to the new software so clicked ok, it seemed to be taking ages and then suddenly went off. Now when holding down the power button and the home button it is still not working and wont restore?
I mean with Xperia X10 and I know that there has to be an update! At least when I connect the phone to the laptop, that's what my PC Companion is telling me. But I can't go past the plug the cable and hold the back button. I tried both the companion and the update service but I can't go past the plug in and press back buttons. If I hold it for a longer period of time, the phone just turns back on.
My iphone 4 will not turn on. When I plug in to Macbook, phone does not appear in iTunes.I have tried holding down sleep wake button and home button for 10 sec but nothing happens.
Siri was working fine yesterday, but when I tried using it today it just wouldn't work. I've tried switching it on and off and have tried to use it both on locked and unlocked screen.
Got my IPhone on Monday and I haven't had any problems until today when i grabbed my phone and i heard a cracking noise coming from behind the the device. Its only when I apply very little pressure to the back with my fingers or when I am touching the screen from the front. Everything works fine still but the noise is getting me concerned.
I just went from the 8310 to the 9700 and right off noticed that I can no longer hold the talk button and pull up the address book while in the recent call list. From the home screen you can hold the talk button for a couple of seconds and it pulls up the address book but if you just tap the talk button it opens the recent call list. If you hold the talk button from there it tries calling the last number. Anyone know if I can change this to be like the 83xx?
I have had my phone for two weeks now, and have only just had my SIM switched to a Blackberry SIM. I turned my phone off and on as advised, and all appeared to be well. When I went into settings to set up my email, it advised me that I had to download some new software. Which I did. It prompted me to reboot my phone, which I did. However, since then I cannot get past the Blackberry logo when turning it back on. None of the keys respond, and after a while it comes up with a white screen and a error message. The phone then turns itself off. I am not low on battery and I have removed the battery a number of times, but the same thing keeps on happening. Has anyone else had this problem, were you able to resolve it, or will I need to call into the local vodafone shop tomorrow?
after using active for a month.i just noticed that the back button fails to respond sometimes it wont give any vibrations at all, except this every other keys and screen works perfectly at that time..and after few seconds the back button comes to respond...
I recently bought a Sony Ericsson Xperia st15i and now the back button is operating on its' own, so bad I cannot even unlock the screen to enter the phone and also I cant able to answer the calls. What can I do to solve this problem.
I synched it to my exchange account, but the calendar information only goes back until August. I would like some earlier calendar entries to show as well.
How to increase the brightness of the back button lights of Xperia Neo ?I hav unlocked the boot loader and then after trying so many custom roms , flashed the official sony rom ICS 4.0.4 , build no : 4.1.B.0.587 !!!the lights were bright wen I used CM9 and want the same brightness for this one too?
It has suddenly decided to not respond to the back button for no apparent reason. Sometimes it suddenly starts working again after a restart and then works repeatedly untill untill the phone is left idle. Then the next time i pick the phone up it won't work again. The button itself feels no different to normall and has a positive click feel to its operation but i have noticed that when the phone is left on standby it suddenly starts illuminating the main screen repeatedly for no reason and i think the back button may be stopping from working after this happens, however i have not yet had it do this consistently to be sure yet. I have done a master reset, removed battery, software update (hard to do with intermitant back button btw) but all to no avail. All i have managed to achive is losing a load of my contacts actual numbers on SE's crappy sync service (contacts still listed but numbers gone and not in trash?)
I'm not 100% sure if this is the solution to all Xperia Minis but after ICS4.0 upgrade of my mini the back button problem occuring due to overheating of phone (usually after 15-20mins usage of any app/music/photo viewing/browsing etc) has gone, After continuous usage of 15-20mins or immediately after charging phone I used to face this problem and could not do anything because as soon as I entered some menu the back button threw me out almost immediately.. but with ICS4.0 upgrade (done approx. 2.5weeks before) the problem has vanished totally. No matter what I do with the phone the back button doesn't throw me out of current menu automatically.
From last month i found that sometime my xperia mini's back button is not working.it's working after press home key or after keypad lock and unlock.i already have latest 0.62 software version and also it was working fine with this update up to 3 to 4 months.i didn't change anything then why this is happening?
While I am under a phone call if I want to search the browser or sending a text message the keyboard will be unavailable so do the back button will become unavailable...
I got used to end calls quickly that way in Android 1.6 and it worked pretty well for me for several moths. I actually found it a very good idea, one of the best and most intuitive since I started to use it.ow I often do not end my calls properly and that cauese me a lot of trouble. Local SE customer support told me that it is a firmware matter and cannot be changed. Isn't there any HW buttons configurator or another way to configure the HW buttons on the phone?
today i just upgrade my xperia mini pro SK17i to build number 4.0.2.A.0.58, after this update, my back and menu button begin to be unresponsive or lagged significantly, the backlight of these two button also not turn on.the responsiveness of home button is not affected at all, so I'm not sure what is the source of the problem here.for example, let me demonstrate here:
1. unlock my phone - by slide to right > press the corner shortcut - animation is smooth > press the mail icon - open mail and I can imediately scroll down with no lag > press back button...wait up to 3 second and then it go back to home screen or worse it not registered anything, is it like I didnt press the back button
2. unlock my phone - by slide to right > press the corner shortcut - animation is smooth > press the mail icon - open mail and I can imediately scroll down with no lag > press home button - animated smoothly and goes back to home screen
what can make something like this happen? if this is software related action 1 and action 2 should be the same right? this is like some software component after update didn't detect the capacitive button correctly or something.there is option to repair this phone but it mean that I will loose all things in main memory, I will use this option as the last resort, but for now I would like to hear other opinion about this.other annoying stuff after this update:
- the APN setting was deleted so I must enter it again
- before update there is mcafee viruscan and mcafee wavesecure, after update it change into mcafee viruscan and mcafee security, and the mcafee security is not compatible with viruscan!! so I must delete viruscan, not that im using it tho, but still.
- there is some carrier spesific app that can be deleted but after boot restart showed up again
I have a ST15i with Android version 4.0.4 and the build 4.1.B.0.587, when i click the camera button in the main screen i am able to see the back camera view and there is not front /back camera toggle button. i did the factory reset almost 5 times, but no result, is there any patch to solve this issue, due to this i am not able to use Skype Video calls.
This morning the screen of my Z5 Compact starting coming back on after I press the Power Button to turn it off. It seems to be triggered by movement: If I'm holding the phone after pressing the PB, the screen comes back on immediately when my hand moves. If I place the phone flat on a table and press the PB, without additional movement, the screen stays off.
The screen stays off if allowed to Sleep past the set duration.
The past couple of days I've also been getting notifications that certain Apps are preventing Stamina mode from operating. This morning it was Facebook. Yesterday, it was another one I can't remember. Can these issues be related?
Been having the phone for a few months but surprisingly just noticed it, does the phone home button have a back-light? Want to know if there is a hardware issue.
lately my nokia lumia 900 has been pushing the back button and home butting while i'm watching videos. its really frustrating when watching Internet videos and i already have to wait for them to buffer and if it decides to push the back button i have to wait again.
