May 15, 2012I have an iPhone4 having size of 8GB. When I connect iPhone to iTunes, It shows me total space 6.37 GB.
Q.1 ) If apple says 8GB, where is the remaining space then ? It should specify somewhere that 1.73 GB being used by iOS system. Why is not specified anywhere ?
Q.2 ) My iPhone shows 2.3GB space as OTHERS ! I don't understand this others space & apple has not specified what OTHERS mean !
Q.3 ) Is there a way to clean up OTHERS space ?
I tried many different ways, I removed all of my audio/sounds from my iPhone & synced. I removed my MAIL account associations & I removed most of the apps from my iPhone to recover the Space.But OTHERS is yet allocated to 2.3 GB. iOS itself taking 1.73 GB So, this way, Half of the iPhone memory is being used somehow without my knowledge.I am allowed to use only 4GB of my iPhone. Why the h--l is this ? I feel pretty bad about this.I am wondering, If I remove entire iOS5 & install iOS5 on my iPhone4 again, that should work.I have an iPhone4 which is Factory UNLOCK piece. Neither jailbroken nor unlocked by any illegal activities.
Q.4 ) How do I completly clean up my iPhone ( As I do system Format on my PC ) ?
Q.5 ) How do I re-install iOS5 ? ( Please I don't need any updates here. I am very much happy with iOS5 only )

Mar 12, 2012When restarted my computer and reconnects my iPhone, it now prompts saying that iPhone in recovery mode and I must restore before it can be used with iTunes. I am very sure there's 2 backup copies in my (default designated) computer folder, with one being dated 12Mar (the day of updating). I browsed the computer folder while waiting for the downloads in iTunes.
However the backup folder is now empty!! and I can't restore to any previous backup, and my phone cannot be turn on. The iTunes restore button asked if I wanted to restore to original factory settings. How could this happen?!! My Recycle bin has this item "iPhone3,1_5.0.1_9A405_Restore.ipsw".
How can I retreive my previous phone backup, or just return to iOS5.0.1 with its data prior to the 5.1?

Jul 27, 2010I have an iPhone 4, running iOS 4.0.1 and sometimes I will link up my Apple Bluetooth keyboard to it when texting. Its great! However, I can't seem to find a "send" button? Like if I was chatting in iChat I would just push enter but in SMS's an enter just takes you down a line...so is there some kind of secret shortcut for the end button rather going back and forth between the keyboard and tapping the screen?

Mar 13, 2012I've updated my IOS to 5.1 on my iPhone 4 and I'm getting a repeated issue where the screen will randomly go black very quickly as if it's gone to sleep. It happens predominantly whilst using the camera but on occassion whilst using various apps. I've tried touching the screen to 'wake' it but that doesn't work and I can only reactivate the phone by pressing the home button which brings the phone back to the homescreen.The camera also takes a long time to wake. Often it will open and display the closed apperture image for a good few seconds.Is it worth my while downgrading to IOS 5.0 and waiting for a bug fix?
