i recently got an iphone 3gs and i did the itunes stuff to get it to version 10.6 and that but it says i got version 4.2.1 and i restored it and tried again yet nothing happened
When restarted my computer and reconnects my iPhone, it now prompts saying that iPhone in recovery mode and I must restore before it can be used with iTunes. I am very sure there's 2 backup copies in my (default designated) computer folder, with one being dated 12Mar (the day of updating). I browsed the computer folder while waiting for the downloads in iTunes.
However the backup folder is now empty!! and I can't restore to any previous backup, and my phone cannot be turn on. The iTunes restore button asked if I wanted to restore to original factory settings. How could this happen?!! My Recycle bin has this item "iPhone3,1_5.0.1_9A405_Restore.ipsw".
How can I retreive my previous phone backup, or just return to iOS5.0.1 with its data prior to the 5.1?
iphone screen shows to connect to itunes, once connected, itunes takes a long time to recognize the phone, Then iphone restarts...Same thing happen everytime...
i own a iphone 4 from chennai with 4.1 ios which is at&t locked!I am using gevey sim and using it without any updating(4.1)!!! Is it possible to unlock my phone from at&t , update to ios5.1 and also to remove gevey sim?
Well, my iMac is having serious issues (kernel panics, long story) so I haven't been able to update my iPhone 3Gs (Version 4.3.3) since November. So my panic is that when MobileMe switches to iCloud on June 30, I will lose not only my email but everything! on my iPhone. At least if i could update the phone somehow to get iCloud on it i would retain at least some tether to my mail and contacts. Is there any way I could take the phone to an Apple specialist, and they could back it up, restore and update the software, restore my data to it?Or is my iPhone permanently tethered to my dying computer alone? For what it's worth, I did constantly back up both my iPhone and iMac on a LaCie ext. hard drive with Time Machine. But when I attached the LaCie to another Mac, I could see my backups- but they were ALL aliases! Not the files, aliases!
so I backup my phone , restore it and the update it, but now after I restore my iphone all the info from my backup all my contacts are lost I tryied to do all those thing with the iCloud (aint worked for me :S) , and i also tried to sync my contacts from the outlook , aint worked either =[
I dont know what to do anymore and those contacts are relly importent to me ...
I did the ios5 software update and I have the camera icon in the home screen lock mode, but if you go into the camera from your lock screen and then press the home button, it takes you to your unlocked home screen without asking for the password. How do I change it so that it is always password protected?
i have a 3gs sixteen gb, latestly my mobile is having issues the mobile is restarting itself , the signals are going on and off, wifi and other app are disabled?

I've updated my IOS to 5.1 on my iPhone 4 and I'm getting a repeated issue where the screen will randomly go black very quickly as if it's gone to sleep. It happens predominantly whilst using the camera but on occassion whilst using various apps. I've tried touching the screen to 'wake' it but that doesn't work and I can only reactivate the phone by pressing the home button which brings the phone back to the homescreen. The camera also takes a long time to wake. Often it will open and display the closed apperture image for a good few seconds. Is it worth my while downgrading to IOS 5.0 and waiting for a bug fix?
when i plug my iphone in it says that i need to update my phone, when i click to update it it comes up with the following error message Itunes could not contact the iphone software update server because you are not connected to the internet. Make sure your internet connection is active and try again but i am connected to the internet.
I have recently updated from a 3GS to a iPhone 4S with IOS5.1.I run my small business using Microsoft Exchange 2003 hosted by my ISP.This arrangement worked fine with the 3GS but I'm having problems with the 4S.When opening mail it is either endlessly "connecting" or "checking for mail".Push mail works OK but often only downloads the header and not the full message - when you open the mail it is always "loading" the rest of the message. I have tried deleting my iCloud account and resetting my networks as recommended by others but neither have solved the problem.
Upgraded to iOSX 5.1 Previous used it hands free in my Dodge Ram with RES radio with UConnect Bluetooth. Now, will not connect.I think this is an iOSX issue mainly as I notice now when making a call (anytime) where I the audio output speaker or other audio option (iphone or Uconnect) I now only have the option for speaker. I have:Told bluetooth to forget the original device and renamed the phone in the Uconnect memory option.Done a hard reset of the phone itself.Spent plenty of time banging around looking for UConnect upgrades or downloads to no avail.
iwas updating my iphone 4 to ios 5,did NOT work.now it is frozen with picture of phone lead, arrow and itunes icon.phone will not connect to itunes for me to restore.
Info: iPhone 4, Windows XP, was trying to update phone
Ok so basically, I have owned this phone since new, it's never been Jailbroken and the only "modification" that has ever been done is I've had the back glass replaced with a custom one I had made up.
The last 3 months or so, the phone during standard use tends to just reboot, the screen goes black, I get the little spinny wheel then it will either turn back onto the lock screen and behave, or it will continually do this.
I've also noticed that if it does automatically go back to the lock screen, some apps do not re-open, even after they have been closed properly from the home bar, they open then just close almost instantly which forces me to reboot the phone.
The worst case scenario is I have to do a full reboot - hold down home and power buttons till the screen goes black, then turn it back on, this can take upto 10 minutes sometimes which in my experiance is rather long..
