IPhone :: What Is The Easiest/cheapest Way To Unlocked 3G To Sell On EBay
Mar 17, 2012
I recently got an iPhone 4S and was looking to sell my iPhone 3G on eBay. I've noticed the unlocked versions sell for more than those that aren't unlocked. What is the easiest and cheapest (free if possible) way to unlock my iPhone 3G to be used with any carrier?
So I'm planning on selling my 16 GB iPhone 3GS on eBay, but unlocking or jail breaking it before I do so. I'm looking to upgrade to the new iPhone 4, even though I don't qualify for the $199 price. Can someone give me step by step directions on how to do this? Specifically regarding what to do with my sim card and how to buy the new one. Any help would be appreciated thank you!
ive reserved a full price unlocked iPhone in regent street in Londnn for pickup 24 june. got my reservation mail from apple.now my question: will they sell to foreigners(i'm from Belgium and it's only 2 hours with the eurostar)ive read on forums because it's an unlocked full price iphone you don't have to show a UK ID or have to prove you live in the UK etc. to buy it.
I just got a supposedly new unlocked RAZR from ebay and the IMEI stamped on the back is different from the one displayed on the phone when I enter *#06#. Strangely, only 3 of the 15 digits are different, the rest are the same.Is it a natural part of unlocking that the IMEI is changed in the process? That doesn't seem right. I want to activate it with T-Mobile Prepaid today since this is the last day of the $25/144 minute credit deal, but I'm not sure which IMEI to use and I sure don't want to get in trouble with T-Mobile.
A few hours ago I put my iPhone 3GS on ebay. I've been buying from ebay for years, but never sold anything. I have no idea what price. Right now I started the bidding at $200, but I think that might be to high to start if off like that. I did the bid for 3 days because I wanted to get the Lost Complete Series Blu-Ray Collection ASAP (hopefully on Tuesday) lol.
I can still edit my price, since no one has bided on it yet.
Here is what I'm offering, Apple iPhone 3GS Black (32GB) in Like NEW CONDITION, iOS 4.0.2 Software, perfect screen (absolutely no scratches anywhere on the iPhone 3GS). Includes original box, headphones and USB cable / wall charger. In Great condition, Belkin Grip Two-Toned Vector Case for smartphone - Black, white Silicone (slight wear to the case)
I was thinking in the area of $150-$225 for a 3 day long bid? Anyone have any suggestions? I see people buying it for over 400 dollars, so I don't want me missing out since I'm an ebay selling noob.
edit: Ok I did some research.... I'm just wondering on some feedback for a first time seller... How does this ad look.... I have zero bids so far, so I'm trying lol. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...#ht_500wt_1154
I am thinking about buying an unlocked Storm 2 off of eBay to put on t-mobile. I have an 8900 and don't want to switch to Verizon. I was wondering if there were any specs I should definitely be looking for before this purchase. Also is anyone having a problem recently with putting this phone on t-mobile?
Restored my iPhone to sell it today. My SIM was still in the phone when I did the restore and after it restored and restarted it still had my number when I clicked on "iPhone" in iTunes. Even without the SIM it still reads my number, is this because the phone was automatically activated with the SIM in it after the restore?
selling 3gs tonight Ive read all the posts about the best way to prepare. cant I simply erase my email, notes etc and then give it to him.
when he syncs i know it will erase the apps pics etc but will it erase the base band unlock and hte jb itself?
Or should i restore to 3.1.2 an re jb/reunlock and then make sure i don't restore from backup then when he syncs even though it has cydia on it already it will still be a new phone according to his itunes when he syncs?
What is the deal wiht my baseband. im still on 07 something. if i just do a restore from my saved 3.1.2 on pc that wont affect my baseband since i never upgraded. so am i good?
1) Erase all content and settings. 2) Then I put it in DFU mode, and restored to 3.1.3 (the only SHSH I have on file). 3) Then I jailbroke with spirit. 4) Then I ran the spirit2pwn hack. 5) Then I restored to a custom pwned 4.0 firmware. 6) Then when it was done, the iphone screen says "iPhone is now activated", and on the computer I was at the screen to set up as a new phone or restore from backup. 7) I do neither of those things and then unplug the phone from the computer. Loaded up cydia and installed ultrasn0w. 8) Rebooted the device. 9) On the iPhone, went into settings -> General -> Store, and logged out of my iTunes account. (Don't know why it was even logged into that)
Am I all set to sell it? And how had it gotten logged into my iTunes if I never set up the phone? Maybe when it "activated" it does?
I sold my iPhone4 to stay with my 3GS. ATT said I need to get a new sim to keep my 3GS since I had to activate my iPhone4 which wiped out my old sim. Do I ship the iPhone4 with the micro-sim or no?
I've got a 32gb 3GS, which is jailbroken. It's version 3.1.2 with a modem firmware of 05.11.07It's been jailbroken with Blackra1n but not unlocked (no need).. I've got a new phone now and would like to sell this as a jailbroken phone. Is there a method I can use to clean the phone of all my data but not lose the jailbreak?
I have bought new i phone 4s and have deleted everything from old i phone 4. I did not make a note of imei number and do not have original box. How do I now find imei number so I can sell old phone 4?
I'm selling one of my 3GS, it is jailbroken 3.1.2 and unlocked. What do I do to safely wipe out my personal information and not loose the jailbreak?I also want to make sure that it is ready for the buyer to use overseas.
Got new tour that was previously my step-mom's. I have restored phone factory settings and am trying to transfer my contacts that I have stored on Verizon.com backup assistant. The backup assistant does not seem to be transferring the contacts. What is the easiest/best way to transfer my contacts to my new phone?
I've been playing with the idea overclocking for a while now. Wasn't sure if I should wait for 2.2, but, it sounds like it could be a while longer. So I'm tempted to take the plunge. My only incentive to root is to overclockI know there are a few options for me to root...
1. Easyroot, Milestone Overclock, not sure if this is persistent though. Might have to overclock each time reboot.
2. G.O.T/OpenRecovery. I've read about it on various forums, and it's clearer now, but, I'm still not 100% yet. But, overclocking via the G.O.T menu looks quite straightforward.
Which method is easier in the end? Also, if I want to go with option 2, can anyone recommend which 3 files (Service.sbf, Recovery File, and Update.zip) I should use that works best for the Telus network? Also, does my phone need to be unlocked even though I'm only planning on using it on the Telus network?Keep in mind that I really only want overclock (800-900Mhz) at this point.
On my Blackberry Storm 2 syncing Outlook was a breeze. To achieve the same on the SGS2 seems to be a bit of a mystery!
I downloaded a 14 day trial of Deja Office thinking this would make the process easier - seems I made a mistake! I find it very tricky and at best, temeramental. I've also tried KIES but this seems to be universally disliked!
So what are the options? I don't mind paying for a 3rd part App to achieve this, though I expected this to be a fundamental feature. My Outlook Contacts number about 1400 & I'm not overly fussed about using Google unless there are real benefits to do so.
I've been trying to get rid of my two month old 3gs and I have been trying craigslist and eBay but nothing is happening. Am I doing something wrong? Asking for a wrong price?
So i told my 3GS on ebay and am currently using iPhone 4. But i did the erase and restore on my 3gs. should i ship it this way (screen says connect to iTunes) or should i activate it and then ship it?
As I find myself becoming more and more addicted to crack(berry), I was wondering how most of you access these forums from your phone. When I first started checking out the forums, I always used my lapotop. But now I find that I rarely even turn my computer on.Is there an easier and/or better way to access the forums besides using the WAP address in the briowser? Any third party apps that will help in my addiction?
I contacted ATT regarding my purchased Iphone (a year back through ebay) regarding the unlocking the iphone. They got my IMEI number and a week after they have reported with the steps to unlock my phone. (Just connect to I tunes, backup and restore with internet connection). I did the steps but I could not get the successful message in the Itunes. I contacted ATT and Apple. Both of them saying that only other party can help.
Anyone use ebay to purchase their apple care? I've seen it for as low as $44, didn't know if it was legit, and i'm curious to know why and how it's discounted so much.
