Got new tour that was previously my step-mom's. I have restored phone factory settings and am trying to transfer my contacts that I have stored on Verizon.com backup assistant. The backup assistant does not seem to be transferring the contacts. What is the easiest/best way to transfer my contacts to my new phone?

My Tour was damaged by water, and now has no visible screen. I can occasionally get a small red signal on it. Is there anyway to transfer or retrieve my contacts from the phone, or from blackberry. I did not have them properly downloaded on the backup assistant. Can i just activate another blackberry and retrieve them from that, or are they lost forever?

Case in point: on long drives through the country, i'll be listening to pandora for 4 hours straight then all of a sudden it will stop loading. then i'll notice that teh web browser wont load websites, ubertwitter wont load, facebook wont load, etc etc. The only thing that makes everything work again is to do a battery pull but of course this gets old.Anyone know what the problem is here or anything? I feel like maybe i'm using "too much data at one time" but in all honestly I dont think that's right.

We use MS Outlook as our mail program.I was just playing around in Outlook trying to figure out how to attach my business card to the end of e-mails I send and soon realized I was looking at all of my personal cell numbers of friends, family etc. in Outlook on my corporate lap top ! Yikes ! I don't want my mom, ex wife, current GF's etc. contact info on my corporate laptop.Is there a way to get my Tour and/or Outlook to stop syncing my phone contacts to my my computer?

Although I can make and receive calls with no problem.Did u guys have to do something special prior to entering the card?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI woke up this morning to find my entire contact list deleted from the Contacts application, however when I open an email or an SMS, all of the contact information is there for that particular person. When I look at the call log, the information is also there.I have a backup done on Friday (yesterday) on Outlook at my office (not on work server since they all use IPhones for that. I prefer my blackberry so I use the non-server syncing)...is there another way to get this information back or do I need to wait to resync on Monday?
I had a lot of apps on there that I don't use, so I deleted the off this morning to help get some memory back. I haven't yet done a battery pull on my phone...will doing one affect anything or should I just do it to help clear the memory up and make room for contacts?
I've been playing with the idea overclocking for a while now. Wasn't sure if I should wait for 2.2, but, it sounds like it could be a while longer. So I'm tempted to take the plunge.My only incentive to root is to overclockI know there are a few options for me to root...
1. Easyroot, Milestone Overclock, not sure if this is persistent though. Might have to overclock each time reboot.
2. G.O.T/OpenRecovery. I've read about it on various forums, and it's clearer now, but, I'm still not 100% yet. But, overclocking via the G.O.T menu looks quite straightforward.
Which method is easier in the end?Also, if I want to go with option 2, can anyone recommend which 3 files (Service.sbf, Recovery File, and Update.zip) I should use that works best for the Telus network?Also, does my phone need to be unlocked even though I'm only planning on using it on the Telus network?Keep in mind that I really only want overclock (800-900Mhz) at this point.

I downloaded a 14 day trial of Deja Office thinking this would make the process easier - seems I made a mistake! I find it very tricky and at best, temeramental. I've also tried KIES but this seems to be universally disliked!
So what are the options? I don't mind paying for a 3rd part App to achieve this, though I expected this to be a fundamental feature. My Outlook Contacts number about 1400 & I'm not overly fussed about using Google unless there are real benefits to do so.

His only concern is that, in our business we will need to use Handheld Contact to integrate with a program called ACT! and we are not sure that the tour will hold all of our contacts? Whenever I open up the desktop software and try to synchronize my phone or alter the sync options, it says something along the lines that I must be able to access the internet to perform the action.
