Updated to 5.1.1 on iPhone 4s and noticed when I plugged the Apple AV composite cable, the phone says it's not an authorized device and won't allow charging.

I have an iPhone 3GS and a Composite AV cable, but my tv won't recognize that the iPhone is plugged in (no video or audio). I've tried it in multiple ports, including the one my dvd player is usually plugged into (so I know that one works). The booklet that came with the cable said to make sure that the iPhone was set up to send a video signal to the tv, but none of the support manuals nor Google has been able to tell me how to do that (at least for a 3GS).

View 6 Replies View RelatedOver last one month, I have bought at least 4 new USB cables, and within a short period of time, these USB cables just refused to charge anymore, at least no more "lightning" signal on the apple devices indicated. While the condition of these cables are still very new, what could be the issue? I have ensure that my devices have the latest OS updated and yet these charging issues are happening more and more frequently.

Don't remember where I got it but seems all the current ones don't have this, smaller and just pull which makes it harder..

For some inexplicable reason the video out functionality of my iPhone 4 no longer works. I thought it might have been a cable issue at first, but I tested it on an Apple composite cable, an Apple component cable, and an Apple HDMI cable. As you can see, I have spent a lot of money on Apple cable products because I use the phone in both home and educational settings that have very different connection options. Now, the cable seems to allow audio to pass through the analog cables, but the HDMI functionality seems to be completely shut down, both video and audio. To be clear, I have already performed a reset and recovery, which did not correct the problem. The iPhone was running iOS 5.1.1 before the reset as well as after. Interestingly, I tested a current generation iPod running iOS 5.1.1 on the cables and the video out worked, including confirmation that the Netflix app works. This is a sudden and disasterous failure for which I have no explanation. The phone has not been damaged or exposed in any way.

After installing the IOS 5.1.1 update on my iphone 4S, it left a picture on my phone screen of a USB cable pointing to the iTunes icon...i connected the phone to my macbook and it said this is a phone " IN RECOVERY' and that i needed to hit restore button for this phone to be able to communicate with iTunes ? it was working perfectly fine before i did this recommended download and installation ?

How can I fix my iphone 5?? It came up with an error message saying something did not update properly and now it is stuck on the screen with an itunes symbol and the cable that goes into. When you either sync you iphone or just connect it to itunes? In other words, if you plug in your iphone and there is an update possible, itunes forces your iphone to update. Can they legally do that and if so, would they ever do that?

When i try to update a free App i keep getting message box that Apple ID has been disabled. I have changed my password twice and when i view my apple id from the app store it accepts my new password but i still get the id disabled message when trying to update.
