Jun 21, 2011I have attempted to upload photographs off my blackberry to my laptop using a usb cable and it has prompted me for a password, I tried the password I have to access my phone after one minute but this did not work, it then prompted me to put the word "blackberry" into the box. I did this and then it has asked for password again and again and agin, I am no at 9/10 and about to wipe all my information, I have tried all the options. Tried my registration password too. Aug 30, 2010I am having a problem with my phone and is that it does not charge using the wall cable. It does charge with the USB cable when connected to the PC (for now).The cables are the ones that came with the phone. The USB port of the phone is fine. I tested the cable and it works properly.I think that the OS v5.0.0.438 is causing the phone not to recognize when it is connected to the wall.
I am worried that it is a progressive issue and then the phone will not charge at all.Can anyone tell me if there is a fix for the USB driver of the phone for it to recognize that is connected.

Sep 26, 2011My office is starting to use the curves as work phones, running from a BES server.When I plug in a USB cable to the curve to charge it all the connections to the network are disabled. I have checked out the charge on the battery i.e. is it below 5-10% charge, when i believe everything gets disabled to save the battery.Policies have been applied to the curve, one of which is to disable connection to pc's, could this be having an affect does anyone know?

Sep 1, 2010I have read numerous threads, here at Crackberry and beyond, but I am afraid I have a truly nuked (to ashes) Curve 8310. My son decided he needed a password, then promptly forgot it and wiped the unit out. Being scared that he was really wiping it out (which of course he was), he pulled the battery in the middle of the wipe. I reconnected everything, and it seemed to do a wipe okay.The essential problem now is that I can never get it recognized by a Windows PC when connecting a USB cable. Yes, I have the BB Desktop and app loader installed. A second, known good BB (different model) connects just fine and is recognized. JL_CMDR gives a "port not found" error. Tried invoking LOADER, even with the /NOJVM switch, but nothing ever sees the 8310. Tried the timing issues with battery pull, cable disconnect dozens of times, but I never hear the PC do the double-ding that a USB device has connected, and the Loader application is always blank for the ports.

BB Curve 8520/8530 :: How To Update OS Update To 5.0.0.411- UMA Works Properly
May 19, 2010I've upgraded from my original OS to 5.0.0.411 (i think) at the start of the year with no problems. Two days ago I attempted the upgrade to .681 which was fine, but I'm not keen on the update as the UMA isn't working properly, so I want to downgrade.
So last night I managed to get back to the original OS 4.? (I was having probs with a straight forward downgrade to another OS5) and tried to upgrade to the Vodafone Italy (I'm on Orange UK) but it wasn't being recognised with the Desktop Blackberry software (vendor file was deleted), although when I went into the upgrade part on the app loader, it did appear there, but with an asterisk saying I had to be registered with Blackberry to be eligible for the upgrade (or something like that). I attempted the upgrade but the software wouldn't allow it.
I removed that software and tried with the Wind release, but again the desk top software didn't recognise it.I tried the .681 release again and the upgrade worked fine
I would really like to go back to a stable OS where the UMA works. Any ideas how to do it with the Vodafone Italy release? Or am I being blocked somehow as I'm registered to Orange UK? If so does anyone have a link to download another earlier release that is stable and not carrier associated?

Aug 21, 2010I recently received a message telling me that an update was available for App World. I downloaded the update, installed it and rebooted. Now I am unable to download apps. When I hit the download button it takes me to the sign in for BlackBerry ID, then to terms and conditions and then to my ID settings! The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles.

Apr 22, 2010I've had my 8330 Curve with Verizon since November 2008. Very happy with it. I also happen to still be using OS 4.3.0.127 (202), which is what the unit came loaded with. I never bothered upgrading because I would always hear of people having issues or DM only backing up your contacts and not your apps, lower music volume, etc. I don't really need Docs To Go, but HTML e-mail would be nice and the biggest thing is trying to improve these BBM delays I constantly get when trying to send a message. I'm thinking an upgrade to the latest BBM might help change that.
Of course, in order to do that, I need to upgrade to 4.5. So I've decided to do it, but not before I ask for feedback here. I've scanned dozens of other threads here, all with varying opinions. It's been long enough. Is it wise to do this and, if so, what is the latest OS for VZW (is it .138)? What risks am I really running here? Need a reality check on this.

BB Curve 8500 :: Curve 8520 - Video Quality After V5.0 Update
Sep 18, 2010Got a Curve 8520 and since updating yesterday, the frame rate when recording video has dropped significantly meaning jerky/jumpy video. It may be worth adding that even when in video camera mode but NOT recording the feed is still jumpy. I can see the difference by watching video I recorded before the update and also by comparing to my wifes phone (exactly the same as mine) which has not had the update yet.

When the Application Loader launches, it only provides me with the option of maintaining my OS and downgrading my OS to the older 4.6.1 version. Now it doesn't show any video or sound but says on fone screen "mhi connected" or words to that effect. I replaced the cable assuming it to be faulty but as the problem is still here i now doubt that.
