IPhone :: After Installing The IOS 5.1.1 UPDATE ON 4GS, It Left A Pic Of A USB Cable On Phone Screen?
May 29, 2012
After installing the IOS 5.1.1 update on my iphone 4S, it left a picture on my phone screen of a USB cable pointing to the iTunes icon...i connected the phone to my macbook and it said this is a phone " IN RECOVERY' and that i needed to hit restore button for this phone to be able to communicate with iTunes ? it was working perfectly fine before i did this recommended download and installation ?
I just received notification of the iOS 5.1.1 update while on the phone. Navigating through the message I clicked to enable the update, while still on the phone. Shortly afterwards the phone turned off and was unavailable for a couple minutes while processing the update. The iOS update tool should check and notify the user that the phone conversation will be terminated...and ideally give the user the ability to cancel out of the update action.
Whenever im at the homescreen, and i tilt the phone to the left..it will start switching to another screen..when i do this in the browser/message or something the cursor will start moving which messes everything up..is there a problem with it or is this a setting?
When I go into SW update from Control Panel>Phone it only gives me the option of updating via PC. Typing *#0000# and checking says there is no update available.I don't have a USB cable so is there another option to update through the phone itself?
I have the Samsung Galaxy S6 with Android 5.1.1. Clicking central icons so good, but if the left click-activate the right and vice versa, so it is with the keyboard. My phone will rotee, install the recovery and install a stoc-rom, which one does not remember why I did several tests to see which I liked more.
I have done everything known: factory reset of the two known forms, install multiple stoc-rom, firmwares of several countries, including return to the previous version of Android 5.0.1, which I see, can not go back. All this with the Odin program. Also with Samsung Smart Switch "Emergency Recovery and initialization software."
There is a "downloaded and verified" software update on my phone that says Restart and Install. However, I do not want this update. If my phone restarts (accident, runs out of battery) will this start installing the update? If so, how can I stop it? I have an unrooted Nexus 5, and I do not want to root it.
I got my refurb in the mail today and the left side of the screen sounds like someone spilled soda under the screen and it dried. So when I type, especially with typing in landscape it clicks and makes this weird sound like there is something sticky under the screen. Anyone else had this issue? I called Verizon and they are sending me another phone overnight...but still...
Updated to 5.1.1 on iPhone 4s and noticed when I plugged the Apple AV composite cable, the phone says it's not an authorized device and won't allow charging.
Info: AirPlay, Mac OS X (10.7.1), iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch
The left part of the screen doesn't work very well. It's hard to erase a letter, and impossible to me to insert the "P". Does it means that I need to replace the screen? Or there is a other solution?
I had previously updated to 5.1 beta 3 since I was not able to receieve any signals at all, hence make any calls or send texts. After installing 5.1 beta 3 it was fixed but a day ago i had a gray screen and it said:
"We're unable to complete your activation. This device is not registered as part of the iPhone Developer Program.
If you are a member of the Program, please register your device in the iPhone Developer Program Portal" How do I update to the official iOS 5.1 release.
I have purchased iMovie for my iPhone 4 about 1 year ago. It has been working fine, up until now since I updated to ios 5.1; where it will not transfer back to my phone after the update/restire. It is on my computer but cannot install on my iPhone. I keep getting a ''iMovie failed to install'' message appearing on my phone.
I just got off the phone with tech support regarding this issue and could get nothing out from the representant other than '' Sir, I cannot assist you unless you purchase the tech support package for 29.95$''
I legitimately purchased this app for 5.99, and now you're telling me to shove it?? I have made it very clear to the representant that I will never purchase a support plan, and she nonetheless insisted 5-6 times that I purchase it.
I will take that 29.95$, burn it, **** on it, and feed it to a cat before EVER surrendering it to Apple. What kind of company would not take responsibility for its own breakdowns.
I have owned two generations of iPods, I have an iPhone 4, and heck I was even considering getting a MacBook; but with HORRIBLE service like this, FORGET IT - ABSOLUTELY NOT. I find it very unfortunate that Apple sits up on their throne not giving a fudge about customer support, knowing all the rich twads will keep buying Apple products anyways.
Over the past couple of months, my iPhone 3GS has had dead spots on the left side of the screen, preventing me from using the r, d and x keys, the number 4 and the semi colon and comma keys.Just a note; I can't put my phone to sleep or turn off as my lock button isn't working, so I'm using the AssistiveTouch settings.
I Synced and installed IOS 5.1.1 last night and now everything on my phone is displaying transposed (light is dark and dark is light). I can barely read messages and there is no way I can view my pictures now.
Once i click 'update now', it allows me to agree to terms and conditions, but once i select 'agree' it comes up with, "Unable to install update, An error occurred installing iOS 8.1.1". this happens every time i try to update.
How can I fix my iphone 5?? It came up with an error message saying something did not update properly and now it is stuck on the screen with an itunes symbol and the cable that goes into. I have tried turning it off. I have rebooted my computer and I have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes - nothing is working????
A week and a half ago, I got an iPhone5c, and for two days now, I've been noticing that sometimes when I open an app, the top left corner will go white for a few moments. Or, on the right side when I open an app, the screen will have a white line.
My iPhone4 is stuck in the dreaded loop after going to install the new update today. It always "restores" then displays the same "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode" message.
My cat recently knocked my iPhone 4 off the sofa and now I have a multi colour barcode down the left side which appears to be spreading, how much is a replacement screen?
So ive just brought an iphone 3gs and when i charge it, the cable is hard to plug into my phone. Once it has been forced in, and its fully charged when i pull it out it snaps and hald of it is still stuck in my phone. I know its the right sort of cable. Ive asked someone else and they said you need to pinch and push it in and out but there is no where to do that.
I launch the 8.1.2 updating process in OTA mode today and my iPhone 6 get stuck in recovery mode after the restart (iTunes icon with the cable on the screen).Â
So I try to restore from iTunes but I've got a unknown "error 56" at 75% of internal firmware upgrading process. The updating seems stuck, I've wait several minutes with no change. As soon as I unplug the cable my iPhone get back to recovery mode (iTunes icon with the cable on the screen).I've try several times, with another cable, with the old 8.1.1 firmware image (using Alt key when selecting the restore button). I try to launch the restore from my iMac and from my MacBook Pro (both with latest Yosemite and iTunes versions) but my iPhone is still stuck in recovery mode.Â
Bring it back to an Apple Store? Unfortunatly I'm living overseas and I've bought this iPhone 6 a few weeks ago when traveling. I'll be in Melbourne in a few weeks but I would like to use my iPhone again before. Â
Well I already know that the left corner of my iPhone is fragile and I hate cases so I've gotten used to not touching that corner ^_^ doesn't seem big of a deal just annoyed me first couple days or so. Here's an example of me when let's say I take a pic I don't touch that corner at all, anyone used to not holding it wrong anymore?
My iphone has frozen! It has a cable symbol and the itunes symbol above that... has been frozen on that for the past hour. I can do nothing with the phone except turn it on then off. Only to be greeted by the same image every time! How to get rid of it so I can use my phone again??
I bought the iPad (which I am loving btw!) on launch day but was a little upset when the cable was different than the one I had been using for my iPod touch for years. A couple of accessories kind of just went down the toilet. So I did a little searching and couldn't find anything, but do you guys have any idea which cable the new iPhone will use? It would be very convenient for me if it used the iPad cable as that would give me a second one without having to go out and buy it separately.
