May 28, 2010I disconnected usb cable while i was updating my nokia n900.Now its not starting up, just appears nokia logo and blue led light.

Feb 1, 2010I live in Canada and bought the phone unlocked off Dell USA. I don't think there are any service stations in Canada. I was updating to 2.1 and the phone disconntected while updating. It was not physically disconnected, it just... got disconnected by windows... And now the updater is just spinning its wheels. What can I do to restore my phone...?

Jun 28, 2011I wanted to update my software so I plugged it into my PC, everything was going fine, the update started and then my PC decided to not recognise the USB anymore and my phone got disconnected First it went blank, so I switched it off. Took out the battery, tried to put it back on but the screen was black and it was constantly vibrating like mad!!I read quite a lot of posts about problems similar to mine, but there is a slight issue here.. My red.green buttons arent working at all. I suspect people from the service that were fixing my phone before forgot to "plug" the buttons because before everything was fine but I was too lazy to go back and managed to live withough these buttons so I cant try red/green and camera button to restart,What to do? Nokia care point? Does my warranty cover things like that?

Apr 21, 2010My phone told me i had to update it to new software.So I connected it to my computer (running win7).I started the nokia phone update software, which correctly identified my phone etc. It told me it was normal it could say the phone got disconnected.After a few minutes, it told me my phone was disconnected and I had to unplug it, unplug battery, put everything back in and press power for 1 second to resume updating. That doesn't workHard resetting with shift + space + backspace also doesn't work. The phone vibrates for a second and does nothing. I do see a little red light inside the navi-pad.

It downloaded the whole update but while installing it on the device It gave an error message "an error has occured during the update, Please click on retry to try again."
I tried that but it did not work.After that my phone got bricked. It does not start at all. It does not show the logo too.When I hold the power button, I see the green indicator and then it vibrates a bit, but nothing happens.I also tried to open the bootloader screen by holding the two bottons below the screen and starting the phone. May 4, 2011My phone prompted me to upgrade to 4.1.83 and when I said ok, there is a notification icon saying "Download will start when connected to a WiFi network". So I connected to a WiFi network, the download did not start. Gave it some time, switched WiFi on and off a couple of times, powered off/on the phone a couple of times, still do not see it starting to download. I also tried to download some apps from android market place (on wifi) works fine, but the software update never starts. Or Is there a way to manually get the 4.1.83 update to update from 4.1.57 and load it to the phone?

Jan 4, 2010I recently got a wireless Router and now have my own wireless network in my home. I searched for it on my N97, it found it, I added it to it's known access points and set it to connect automatically whenever needed. Here's the problem: it does connect automatically, but it only works for like 30 seconds. After that, it doesn't get disconnectted, but it doesn't work anymore either. It simply downloads no more data. The website doesn't finish loading, or if I try to acces another site, it doesn't load at all (Opera Mini gets stuck on connected). I tried to disconnect and reconnect to the network manually, and that works, but only for another 30 seconds, then the same thing happens. I tried this with the N97 integratet browser and Opera Mini, with the same results.
Mind you that I'm using the same wireless network on my laptop and it works with no problems. Also, note that I did use other WLAN networks with the N97 and they as well work with no problems. It's just my home metwork the phone seems to have issue with, and I'd like to know why, and how (if possible) i can fix this.

Jan 7, 2010I got the N97 on the basis of the maps and GPS stuff. Problem is I have never managed to download maps. I'm using mao loader 3.0.28.0 and Map version 0.1.23.112 both freshly downloaded and installed. There's 24.2GB free memory and my selcted map is175.5MB. When I try to downlad maps I get one of 3 things. The download hangs at about 30-40% I know my internet connection is fine because I'm browsing. The download completes and I get an unknown error when save to storage medium starts. I get a storage medium disconnected message. I've tried it on a desktop and a laptop pc. I've done a full reset on the phone and started all over again. I've trawled all the boards and blogs that come up in google and no one seems to have an answer. I'm starting to get very hacked off with how much of my time is getting soaked up getting nowhere.
