Nokia :: N97 Disconnected During Firmware Update
Feb 1, 2010I live in Canada and bought the phone unlocked off Dell USA. I don't think there are any service stations in Canada. I was updating to 2.1 and the phone disconntected while updating. It was not physically disconnected, it just... got disconnected by windows... And now the updater is just spinning its wheels. What can I do to restore my phone...?

Jul 8, 2011Did anybody try to update the new firmware 071.004 for E72? I tried to do that, but in the middle of the update process, it said that the internet was disconnected or check the firewall. And because of that, now my E72 won't boot up at all. Practically it is unusable now.

Jun 28, 2011I wanted to update my software so I plugged it into my PC, everything was going fine, the update started and then my PC decided to not recognise the USB anymore and my phone got disconnected First it went blank, so I switched it off. Took out the battery, tried to put it back on but the screen was black and it was constantly vibrating like mad!!I read quite a lot of posts about problems similar to mine, but there is a slight issue here.. My red.green buttons arent working at all. I suspect people from the service that were fixing my phone before forgot to "plug" the buttons because before everything was fine but I was too lazy to go back and managed to live withough these buttons so I cant try red/green and camera button to restart,What to do? Nokia care point? Does my warranty cover things like that?

Jan 6, 2012I just did the last firmware update on my X3-02, it seemed to have gone fine but I'm unable the restore the parameters I previously saved. It starts alright, but stops in the middle of the process claiming it has connection problems, and advising that I restart my device and try again (which I did of course). Is it a known problem? Jan 19, 2012I am having issues keeping my X7 disconnected to my wi-fi network. I disconnect it and it reconnects itself even though I have set:
Menu > settings >connectivity >
1. Wi-Fi > Options > settings > show wi-fi availability > never
2. settings > switch to wi-fi > manual
And while I'm at it, how do I remove known networks? Maybe that will stop it if I remove the "known" network...

Jan 6, 2012I'm suffering from memory problems with my Nokia X6 16 Gb recently, specially after the installation of the last version of whatsapp, with emoticons. I can't hardly use Nokia Maps and whatsapp at the same time. I had to uninstall whatsapp during the last trip I was using Nokia Maps.
My actual firmware (Orange, in Spain) is v31.0.004, and I cannot upgrade dialing *#0000# in the phone (appears "No updates available"). Anyone knows how can I upgrade to the last firmware version, v40, for this mobile? I hope the new firmware would be able to solve the memory issues
Xseries :: Updated X3-02 Firmware To 5.65?
May 26, 2011I updated the firmware on my X3-02 following to the letter the instructions as supplied on the website and through Ovi PC Suite. Now everytime I switch off my phone any settings I've made are lost. This includes everything from time and date through to shortcuts specified in the "Go To" drop down menu.
Also now I cannot apply any themes, it doesn't know what kind of files are on the handset. Loads of applications have been lost. It no longer supports chat, facebook etc. In other words it's pretty buggered. Luckily it still makes and receives calls and SMS.I made a backup before I did the upgrade, but if I restore the handset from that backup all it gives me is the same problems with all my original files, contacts etc.
And if I try to update the firmware to Version 6 through PC OVI Suite it tells me that there are no updates available and that beingt 5.65 is up to date. Same problem with stand alone OVI software updater.An if I try to update by going through the menu on the handset, I cannot enter details for OVI to make a connection.It's really frustrating to say the least. Any body out there "NOKIA" HINT HINT.It's on Orange UK network PAYG.

I would plug it into Nokia Suite once that's done, and download the latest version of the handset's firmware. After having tinkered with it for a couple of years now, downloaded and then deleted various apps, I find that it's running a bit slower, and whenever I check for software updates, I only ever get the same four, which I've been offered now for over 6 months without any change. I suspect that the phone's update facility isn't working properly.

That doesn't workHard resetting with shift + space + backspace also doesn't work. The phone vibrates for a second and does nothing. I do see a little red light inside the navi-pad.

Jun 9, 2010I wanted to intsall Mail For Exchange, and the Nokia E72 NAM doesnt seem to have it when I bought it (unless you can direct me to it). I decided to follow the instructions to install it, but it requires me to update the ovi store. I dont know if this will update the firmware as well, but i heard that the newest firmware (v031.032 i believe) is very buggy, so i want to avoid this until another firmware comes out.Can someone help? if its already on the phone, i just need to know where it is. If its not on the phone, will updating the ovistore affect anything in terms of new firmware or other sorts? The reason i want to install this is to utilize the google calendar so i dont have to keep plugging the e72 into the computer (and possibly damaging the plastic usb cover).
