I just did the last firmware update on my X3-02, it seemed to have gone fine but I'm unable the restore the parameters I previously saved. It starts alright, but stops in the middle of the process claiming it has connection problems, and advising that I restart my device and try again (which I did of course). Is it a known problem? Is there a way to restore my content?

Since I leave in Greece, I tried to flash through odin the Stock firmware with CSC EUR but I had fails all 4 times. Tried with both odin 3.0.9 and 3.10. The problem seems to be the hidden file in the end, because everything goes fine until that moment. The result is soft brick. What should I do?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt's funny, I've read a bunch of pages on restoring firmware that Apple is no longer signing. Some of them go on and on like theres no tomorrow, with steps and procedures. Some recommend downloading tinyumbrela and going through that whole process. All of them recommended putting your phone in DFU mode before proceeding.I decided to put a fresh copy of 4.0.1 on my phone and re jailbreak because my phone had slowed down due to trying out tons of random stuff. So when I went to restore I thought I was in for some work.After really reading some of these pages, I thought "why the hell would you have to go through all this trouble? As long as iTunes thinks it got its signature, it should work as normal". Well I was right. All I did was add that one line to the hosts file, using notepad. I then opened iTunes, held shift, clicked restore, clicked the 4.0.1 firmware and...that was it. iTunes verified the software, installed it, re-synced, and boom done. No DFU mode, no downloading my SHSH's, no kicking out of recovery mode. Just let iTunes do it's thing.

Reading this iClarified tutorial would suggest that it is possible to jailbreak his phone with a Mac but he doesn't have one. So my question is, if I make a custom ISPW for him using my Mac, can he then restore his phone using Windows and this custom firmware. And if so, does he need to use DFU mode or can he simply click on the custom file and restore? I should add that it isn't feasible for me to do the job for him as he lives many miles away and I'll be sending him the custom firmware on a CD by mail.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm suffering from memory problems with my Nokia X6 16 Gb recently, specially after the installation of the last version of whatsapp, with emoticons. I can't hardly use Nokia Maps and whatsapp at the same time. I had to uninstall whatsapp during the last trip I was using Nokia Maps.
My actual firmware (Orange, in Spain) is v31.0.004, and I cannot upgrade dialing *#0000# in the phone (appears "No updates available"). Anyone knows how can I upgrade to the last firmware version, v40, for this mobile? I hope the new firmware would be able to solve the memory issues
I updated the firmware on my X3-02 following to the letter the instructions as supplied on the website and through Ovi PC Suite. Now everytime I switch off my phone any settings I've made are lost. This includes everything from time and date through to shortcuts specified in the "Go To" drop down menu.
Also now I cannot apply any themes, it doesn't know what kind of files are on the handset. Loads of applications have been lost. It no longer supports chat, facebook etc. In other words it's pretty buggered. Luckily it still makes and receives calls and SMS.I made a backup before I did the upgrade, but if I restore the handset from that backup all it gives me is the same problems with all my original files, contacts etc.
And if I try to update the firmware to Version 6 through PC OVI Suite it tells me that there are no updates available and that beingt 5.65 is up to date. Same problem with stand alone OVI software updater.An if I try to update by going through the menu on the handset, I cannot enter details for OVI to make a connection.It's really frustrating to say the least. Any body out there "NOKIA" HINT HINT.It's on Orange UK network PAYG.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI do the update to 5.1.1 from the phone, but the update fail and the phone die, I try to unlock the bootloader, but I can't, y flash the boot by command and put the twrp. then i try to flash from the sony flasher this two files the US 23.4.A.0.546. and the hk 23.4.A.0.546 but both get stock in the system.sin after that my phone die in full again. So I flash the boot with commands and install the recovery and flash those two files again. With both give me error so I flash again with hk and my phone revive but I can't use it because I need the US rom. That's why I'm asking for the rom 1288-2987.4

View 2 Replies View RelatedI wanted to update to ICS Android 4.0 on my Orange branded S2 NFC. I was told by Orange support to download Kies. I did, had a few problems getting the phone to connect to the software including a few driver crashes. After it finally connected, it offered me ICS which I accepted. But every time I have downloaded the update it then fails saying "Failed to run firmware upgrade. Unknown error occurred."
I have uninstalled kies and the driver from my PC (windows 7 home premium 32bit) and reinstalled to no effect. Turned off the phone, taken out the battery, turned off wi-fi and data.
If it wasn't for the fact the orange "signal boost" app has been quite useful in my dead zone of a flat I would root the phone and unbrand it and download the update off the net.
What's the best way to erase absolutely everything from the phone, including firmware? I would plug it into Nokia Suite once that's done, and download the latest version of the handset's firmware. After having tinkered with it for a couple of years now, downloaded and then deleted various apps, I find that it's running a bit slower, and whenever I check for software updates, I only ever get the same four, which I've been offered now for over 6 months without any change. I suspect that the phone's update facility isn't working properly.

Today I have got the firmware update of 4.1.B.0.587 for my Xperia Pro (MK16i) but I fail to find any difference from the previous ICS update.Can any body tell me what is new here?
