IPhone :: Restoring Older Firmware / No DFU Mode - No Downloading
Sep 6, 2010
It's funny, I've read a bunch of pages on restoring firmware that Apple is no longer signing. Some of them go on and on like theres no tomorrow, with steps and procedures. Some recommend downloading tinyumbrela and going through that whole process. All of them recommended putting your phone in DFU mode before proceeding.I decided to put a fresh copy of 4.0.1 on my phone and re jailbreak because my phone had slowed down due to trying out tons of random stuff. So when I went to restore I thought I was in for some work. After really reading some of these pages, I thought "why the hell would you have to go through all this trouble? As long as iTunes thinks it got its signature, it should work as normal". Well I was right. All I did was add that one line to the hosts file, using notepad. I then opened iTunes, held shift, clicked restore, clicked the 4.0.1 firmware and...that was it. iTunes verified the software, installed it, re-synced, and boom done. No DFU mode, no downloading my SHSH's, no kicking out of recovery mode. Just let iTunes do it's thing.
In reading up on iPhone firmware v3.1.2 seems preferred if one wants to unlock. In shopping for a new (to me) iPhone most seem to have 3.1.3 - the unlock procedure for this does not seem for the fainthearted. So, my question is where I might find a DIY guide for reverting to older firmware (i.e. 3.1.2) - assuming such is possible.
i deleted all my photos and accidently plugged in my iphone and it did an automatic back up. is there anyway i can get the photos back. i did an earlier back up before i deleted the photos.
I backed up my smses and contact in my sd card using the backup-and-restore-x10 program provided in android version 2.1.Now i have upgraded to version 2.3 and i am not able to install the same program and i cannot restore my sbf files.
how to roll back to the previous version of firmware in lumia 800...I donot have backup file in my laptop also i formatted my laptop after i update my lumia 800 to new firmware update..I tried to "reset your phone" in SETTING option...... but still it not works...
A friend of mine has a factory unlocked 3GS with 3.1.3 firmware and, I'm assuming, the latest baseband. Reading this iClarified tutorial would suggest that it is possible to jailbreak his phone with a Mac but he doesn't have one. So my question is, if I make a custom ISPW for him using my Mac, can he then restore his phone using Windows and this custom firmware. And if so, does he need to use DFU mode or can he simply click on the custom file and restore? I should add that it isn't feasible for me to do the job for him as he lives many miles away and I'll be sending him the custom firmware on a CD by mail.
Im trying to update to 4.0.1 but when it is restoring the firmware it says error 1004 and it has basically bricked my phone..how can i update and get my "Phone" back ( i use the term phone loosely when it comes to apple)
i keep getting error 3194 when i try restoring my iphone to a lower firmware and i have tried using two different computers what do i have to do to restore it ?
Info: iPhone 3GS, iOS 5.1.1, trying to get back to 5.0.0
I was attempting to do an update of the operating version & of its own doing has gone into this mode.
Now when its plugged into itunes it advises that its in recovery mode & needs to be restored. however I didn't want to proceed with this option as it advises that all information on the phone will be lost in the restore.Â
went to update my iPhone 4. it told me to connect it to iTunes. after I connected to iTunes It then told me it was in recovery mode and I need to restore it. is there anyway I can get it out of recovery mode with out restoring it and deleting everything?
Recently I jailbreak using pwnage then blackra1n/blacksn0w to unlock my iphone 3gs (3.1.2 - 05.11.07). So I decide to get one for my girlfriend same spec (3.1.2 - 05.11.07) and when I did the same process, itune gives the 1600 error during custom firmware restore. I later discovered it had a newer bootrom on this one and Untethered jailbreak (pwnage) wasn’t supported.
The iphone is currently stuck in DFU mode and unable to enter recovery mode and gives the 1600 error upon restore, I tried using new cable and switched from Mac to PC for the restore but none worked. With iREB not supporting 3gs. I am out of ideas anyone can help to restore the iphone?
I should have just used blackra1n (tethered) jailbreak and unlock it .I guess I can normal restore it to 3.1.3 and have a itouch instead if worst come to worst. In addition I have a question about blackra1n (tethered) jailbreak/unlock, I was under the assumption if I powered off I will loss the unlock, but that’s not the case on another iphone?
I have tried restoring my phone but in a recovery mode it indicates error 3194 I have disabled the firewalland even the wireless but it still pops up at that level what is the next step now? I have Iphone 5c barely 6 months old.
I just did the last firmware update on my X3-02, it seemed to have gone fine but I'm unable the restore the parameters I previously saved. It starts alright, but stops in the middle of the process claiming it has connection problems, and advising that I restart my device and try again (which I did of course). Is it a known problem? Is there a way to restore my content?
When I try to update the E72 firmware to latest version 071.004 through SW update in Control Panel it takes too long showing "Processing" and does not show download progress bar. Other updates such as Maps & Email have downloaded & installed fine.
I'm new here, normally wouldn't post anything since I think I can find my own answers, but after digging through this forum I could not find anything that could bring my Samsung Galaxy II back to live, so here it goes..ot this phone yesterday from a friend who recieved a new one, so I thought i was being smart by trying a hard reset to remove all his settings/history/etc.. (I know now i need a usb restore as well, but...) I switched it off, and used Vol Up + Home + Power and it entered the downloading screen and i said: "Yes, reset this thing" it started downloading (I think) so i put it aside.. but I think the battery was running low because when i checked back a couple minutes later everything was black, and has been since.
I have galaxy s5 I'm currently on a vacation so I and I wish I didn't ,putted my phone in the pool,it worked fine for like 2 mins but then it told me that headset is connected although I didn't connect any,and then the screen went off,I hurried to the romm and wiped all the water inside ,but still it wouldn't work , I tried exchanging batteries, didn't work, but then outta hope I tried one last time and luckily I had a screen saying "downloading. Don't turn device off" which means that the processor and screen are working .
my mobile got updated some days ago to 5.1.1 but there was no guest mode. So I tried 2 other firmware from Sammobile. None of them had guest mode.which Firmware you have which includes guest mode? PDA and CSC, assumed you have guest mode...
I recently updated to ios 5.1, and after about 10-40 seconds after unlocking my phone it stops to see my finger touches. the buttons work but not the touch screen. and this also hapens sometimes when I go to unlock the screen. so I have to lock the screen and try to unlock it to use the phone for about 30 seconds and then have it do the same thing making me lock it and unlock it again. I'm starting to think it is the ios 5.1 not liking my phone. I have a 3gs 16 gig. My screen was cracked and I had it replaced along with the digitizer, and when I got it back I did a restore and thats when it added the ios 5.1. So I was wondering if I can go back to an older ios and how to do that.
I'm trying to upgrade my 3.2 iPad to 3.2.1 but I don't know where to get non-current software from. I remember there being a site that listed every firmware update for every iOS device but I can't find it and I never bookmarked it.
Since installing the new operating system my battery life is about 24 hours whereas it was almost 72 hours before. How do I reinstall the old operating system?
