I bought and Iphone 3g from someone else, however it was in recovery mode when trying to turn it on.I tried to restore it with Itunes, but it says it can't contact the update server.I downloaded the latest firmware for it (4.2.1) and tried restoring it with itunes again, however the same problem happens when trying to inform Apple about the update or restore, and it says it can't contact the update server.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe last flashing process was a while back. I must have been a little rusty... Anyway, I today tried to install the 6.0.1 compatible TWRP Recovery on my Galaxy S6 920F and made several mistakes in the process using Odin 3.10.7 on my Windows PC (flashed a wrong file in AP, it was an .img and not a tar.md5). Now I'm still in the Download Mode and can't exit it at all. I tried the Home Button + Vol Up + Vol Down like 1000 times, but it still won't work. It really seems to be stuck. Odin finds the device, but when I try to re-flash the recovery the right way (at least I hope it is), it tries to establish a connection before flashing and after that it's stuck, too.
On my device the last lines are: B:2 K:2 S:2
What can I do? Is there a way to bring this device back to life?
I just tried out car mode for the first time and when I was in the simplified interface there was no way for me to exit it... I just tried it out inside so it wasn't automatically hooking up to a cars bluetooth or anything. I believe I was supposed to pull down on the top menu thing to turn it off but I couldn't pull it down while in car mode. I ended up having to reboot my phone to get out of car mode.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter activating my Ultra Power Saving mode, I was able to deactivate, however my phone then went into a similar power saving mode, grey scale screen, no apps and no option to exit the mode available on any accessible parts of the settings. Is this a bug? or have I activated a mode I didn't intend to?

My iphone 4s has gone into recovery mode.
I was attempting to do an update of the operating version & of its own doing has gone into this mode.
Now when its plugged into itunes it advises that its in recovery mode & needs to be restored. however I didn't want to proceed with this option as it advises that all information on the phone will be lost in the restore.Â
So yesterday I was restoring my iPhone 5S from 7.0.4 to 7.1.1 on my Windows 8 system and it got stuck at around 20-30%, I waited an hour or two and it didn't move, so I disconnected the iPhone assuming it doesn't matter if the OS will be corrupted since I want to restore, when I tried another restore it started giving me Error 14, and seems to show the error around the same percentages I disconnected it while it first restored.
I tried downloading the IPSW again from the internet about 4 times from different places too, when I try to let iTunes download it it just says the file was corrupted when the download finishes (tried 5 times) I tried turning off ALL security on my computer, I even uninstalled AVG and turned off Windows firewall, I also tried all the USB ports. when all that failed I got my old computer out of the basement and plugged in it, updated iTunes and what not then tried to restore, and it gave me the same error. This is when I started to worry this may not be something with my computer, but something with the iPhone... Did I brick my phone? What can I do??
My phone has been unusable for over 24 hours now, it just shows the connect to iTunes logo, I also tried putting it in DFU, which doesn't work.
went to update my iPhone 4. it told me to connect it to iTunes. after I connected to iTunes It then told me it was in recovery mode and I need to restore it. is there anyway I can get it out of recovery mode with out restoring it and deleting everything?

I have been trying to restore my iPhone for about 12 hours now, and I'm about to pull my hair out if it doesn't work soon. The restore to factory settings goes fine, and then when I begin to set it up, it first gives me trouble activating it, but I just press continue when it says it hasn't been activated and a few minutes later I have signal. The next problem arises when I try and restore it from a iCloud backup. I have tried 3 different back ups, all 3 have given me the same problem. They say there is anywhere from 15-45 hours remaining, and it gets stuck at about a centimeter along the progress bar of the restoring settings part. I have not been able to get past this. Quite a few times it has said that my internet connection failed and I'll need to restart the restore. I know this most likely isn't true because I'll be on the computer at that exact point and not have an issue with the computer. I also have a very stable internet connection, and very fast. When I have done restores in the past it took about five minutes.

It's funny, I've read a bunch of pages on restoring firmware that Apple is no longer signing. Some of them go on and on like theres no tomorrow, with steps and procedures. Some recommend downloading tinyumbrela and going through that whole process. All of them recommended putting your phone in DFU mode before proceeding.I decided to put a fresh copy of 4.0.1 on my phone and re jailbreak because my phone had slowed down due to trying out tons of random stuff. So when I went to restore I thought I was in for some work. After really reading some of these pages, I thought "why the hell would you have to go through all this trouble? As long as iTunes thinks it got its signature, it should work as normal". Well I was right. All I did was add that one line to the hosts file, using notepad. I then opened iTunes, held shift, clicked restore, clicked the 4.0.1 firmware and...that was it. iTunes verified the software, installed it, re-synced, and boom done. No DFU mode, no downloading my SHSH's, no kicking out of recovery mode. Just let iTunes do it's thing.

Recently I jailbreak using pwnage then blackra1n/blacksn0w to unlock my iphone 3gs (3.1.2 - 05.11.07). So I decide to get one for my girlfriend same spec (3.1.2 - 05.11.07) and when I did the same process, itune gives the 1600 error during custom firmware restore. I later discovered it had a newer bootrom on this one and Untethered jailbreak (pwnage) wasn’t supported.
The iphone is currently stuck in DFU mode and unable to enter recovery mode and gives the 1600 error upon restore, I tried using new cable and switched from Mac to PC for the restore but none worked. With iREB not supporting 3gs. I am out of ideas anyone can help to restore the iphone?
I should have just used blackra1n (tethered) jailbreak and unlock it .I guess I can normal restore it to 3.1.3 and have a itouch instead if worst come to worst. In addition I have a question about blackra1n (tethered) jailbreak/unlock, I was under the assumption if I powered off I will loss the unlock, but that’s not the case on another iphone?
I have tried restoring my phone but in a recovery mode it indicates error 3194 I have disabled the firewalland even the wireless but it still pops up at that level what is the next step now? I have Iphone 5c barely 6 months old.

I have a 3g iphone 4.2. It was unlocked and jailbroken. I was using tmobile so I needed to have it unlocked but I recently changed to sprint. I wanted to restore the phone and find a way to use my tmobile sim card for sprint but when I clicked restore. It had the 1015 error . I tried it one more time and now it is stuck in restore mode. It shows an apple symbol with a bar underneath that is clear.

I just recieved my iphone today and was able to use it with a wi-fi connection. Suddenly it turned off and would only operate while plugged into a charger. A tech support specialist from verizon then had me put my iphone into recovery mode, that it will not come out of. i tried to put it into DFU mode, but i get nothing. i tried to restore on Itunes from my PC, but i keep getting an error (21) message. I have also already turned off all firewall and security, but still have no luck.
