I bought and Iphone 3g from someone else, however it was in recovery mode when trying to turn it on.I tried to restore it with Itunes, but it says it can't contact the update server.I downloaded the latest firmware for it (4.2.1) and tried restoring it with itunes again, however the same problem happens when trying to inform Apple about the update or restore, and it says it can't contact the update server.
I Have iPhone 4S and it is on a recovery mode i cant exit from recovery mode .. when i update from itunes i cant .. because error 14 and error 26 what can i do ?
"iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used in iTunes" It restores the phone to factory settings and after I do the restore I connect my phone back to iTunes to try and restore my phone to the back up I made just before I did the 4.1 update but then iTunes gives me the same error message as above so I have to restore my phone to factory settings again which I've had to do 3 times now. Then it says “The iPhone “iPhone” could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (9)” Then the phone displays the connect to itunes logo again and wants me to do the whole restore to factory settings procedure again.
I just updated my carrier settings, and iPhone 4S from 5.1 to 5.1.1, and while it was updating, it said, restore error or something, put my iPhone 4S into recovery mode, and now even after a computer reboot and iPhone reboot, it won't show up in iTunes. I can't simply bring it into Apple or use their express lane as there is no Apple Store near me, and the Express Lane will not work for me for some strange reason so i need someone who knows what to do instead of referring me to someone who does. I have read all the guides that say that iTunes should show this message when you connect it in recovery mode(it doesn't even detect it):
My phone is in recovery mode.I think my husband detached it from the USB when it was near the end of a big sync to answer a call. It was the first time I had plugged the phone into my PC to add all my music. I had the phone replaced at an Istore when I needed a new screen a few weeks ago. I had named the phone etc at the beginning of the sync, but when I plug it in Itunes is just calling it 'Iphone' and saying I need to reset factory settings and will lose all my data. Can I call up the 'devices list' on Itunes to see if it has my backup there? I have my contact list off Icloud as my husband was using my icloud and I didn't want to merge phone lists.
I forgot my password to my iPhone 5 and my friend told me to get on iTunes and reset it and put it in recovery mode when I did it didn't load / erase anything
Last night my iPhone randomly went into recovery mode on me. Just before I went to sleep a bunch of static lines appeared across the screen. The screen went dark and a few seconds later the Apple logo appeared. A few seconds later is disappeared. A few seconds later it came back. So on and so forth. I thought I had turned it off and was going to deal with it in the morning, but when I woke up the iPhone still just had the Apple logo going on and off again.Â
I've tried everything today. All the different button hold methods out there. I've tried to sync it to iTunes but the same **** keeps happening over and over again.Â
A message pops up saying "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." So I press OK. Then I press the "Restore iPhone..." button on iTunes. It asks me if I'm sure I want to "restore it to the factory settings" and I click "Restore and Update". It then says that its "extracting software", "preparing the iphone to restore", "waiting for the iphone", then "verifying iphone restore with Apple". As this is going on the "connect to iTunes" sign is shown on the screen of the iPhone. When the "waiting for the iPhone" part starts, my screen goes black, then the apple logo pops up. The "verifying iphone restore with apple" comes on the iTunes and the status bar appears underneath the Apple logo on my phone's screen. It sits there for a couple of seconds with no progress and then the screen goes black. Then iTunes has the same **** message saying "The iPhone 'iPhone' could not be resotred. An unknown error occured (9)."Â
I've gone through this process countless times in the past few hours and have done everything that apple support has told me. The windows system is fully updated. So is the iTunes. I've restarted the computer..Â
A couple of notes about the phone:
It's over a year old. It's never had water damage. It was nearing the max capacity of its internal storage. This has never happened before. I keep it in an Otter Box. I had very little problems with the phone. Lately a couple of apps like snapchat and the barstool sports app were taking a little longer to open up or would randomly close out and sometimes my camera would take a while to get going. But this problem is just ridiculous and completely rendered the phone useless.
after clicking the update, it says that I have to connect to iTunes. After connecting the iTunes, the iTunes doesn't not recognize the phone and I have to restore my phone. However, after clicking 'restore iphone' and the connection to software is stalled and now still have problems with connection. Fyi, I have checked the wifi and internet connection, all seems OK and good. it almost 4 hours now, I cant use my phone to make phone calls or checking emails.Â
i updated my iphone 4 to ios 7 but then it keep turning on and off at the apple logo. My friend said that it is stuck on DFU mode and i have to connect it to itunes but now the problem is my phone cant connect to itunes
my iphone 4 is stuck in recovery mode i cnt turn it on all it keeps saying is connect 2 itunes what happens if restoring it doesnt work what r my next options?
My iPhone was accidentally unplugged during a restore and now it is stuck in recovery mode. Every time I plug it into my computer iTunes crashes instantly. Without the phone plugged in iTunes works fine.Â
After several attempts I reinstalled OSX starting down with Lion, then upgraded to Mavericks, then to Yosemite beta and they all have the same problem. The iPhone is the only thing plugged into the computer besides the power cord. I've done many Home + Power button resets. Tried different cables. Tried using guest account instead.Â
Yesterday I bought a brand new 5S. After configuring and charging it, I plugged it into my PC, which runs on Windows 8, and saw that there was an iOS 7.1.2 software update. I started the update but just when it was about to end, the loading bar changed to 'Waiting for iPhone' and my phone had the 'connect to iTunes' screen pop up. After about 10 minutes, I unplugged and replugged the phone, but iTunes had failed to recognize it and it was now stuck in recovery mode. I've already seen all the articles about this problem and none of them have worked; I've tried reinstalling iTunes, tested the USB (which worked on my sister's phone) performed a hard-reboot and put my phone into DFU mode but to no avail. It's been 13 hours of searching the web - is there anything I can do?
My iPhone 5 is suddenly stuck in recovery mode. It won't turn on, the connect to iTunes logo just shows up. I really don't want to restore it because I have 300+ pictures from vacation that have not yet been synced to my photo stream. I guess my question is is there anyway that I can kick my phone out of recovery mode long enough to get those photos in my stream without restoring it? I know there are programs on the Internet that claim to do this but I doubt they work.
I got an iphone4 running on ios 5.0.1 .recently i installed a tweak named bite sms from cydia and from then my phone is stuck in safe mode and is not working even the touch in not working so that i could delete that tweak. i've tried to restore it (firmware 4.11.08) but i doesn't restore due to error 3194.
i tried removing the battery and placing it back again...but when i do so the M logo appears and goes off and again appears and so on....i can only enter into the recovery by pressing down the - vol key and the bootloader by pressing down the + vol key..how do i reboot into normal mode?
in the recovery menu i can only see the following options:
reboot system now apply sdcard:update.zip wipe data/factory reset wipe cache partition
i tried reboot system now but it wont work.....it jus shows the M logo which goes on and off every 5 seconds...
I tried to upgrade the iphone to ios 5.1.1 when the download was complete, phone went to recovery mode and the upgrade process failed, the phone never came back to normal mode.
The last flashing process was a while back. I must have been a little rusty... Anyway, I today tried to install the 6.0.1 compatible TWRP Recovery on my Galaxy S6 920F and made several mistakes in the process using Odin 3.10.7 on my Windows PC (flashed a wrong file in AP, it was an .img and not a tar.md5). Now I'm still in the Download Mode and can't exit it at all. I tried the Home Button + Vol Up + Vol Down like 1000 times, but it still won't work. It really seems to be stuck. Odin finds the device, but when I try to re-flash the recovery the right way (at least I hope it is), it tries to establish a connection before flashing and after that it's stuck, too.
On my device the last lines are: B:2 K:2 S:2
What can I do? Is there a way to bring this device back to life?
I just tried out car mode for the first time and when I was in the simplified interface there was no way for me to exit it... I just tried it out inside so it wasn't automatically hooking up to a cars bluetooth or anything. I believe I was supposed to pull down on the top menu thing to turn it off but I couldn't pull it down while in car mode. I ended up having to reboot my phone to get out of car mode.
After activating my Ultra Power Saving mode, I was able to deactivate, however my phone then went into a similar power saving mode, grey scale screen, no apps and no option to exit the mode available on any accessible parts of the settings. Is this a bug? or have I activated a mode I didn't intend to?
I have an iPhone four for Xmas and its working fine it just goes into recovery mode on rs own as luckily it can be restarted without connecting to iTunes, it's just really annoying having to do this every 2 minutes
My iphone 4s keeps going into recovery mode then I restore it, then it works fine for a day then next morning it gets back into recovery mode. The same behaviour repeated more than four times now, and I am tired of restoring it
My Iphone 4s keeps going into recovery mode. The first time it happened my phone kept shutting on and off again. Then went into Recovery mode. I reset it back to factory settings and it continued to do this. It's happened about 6 or 7 times in the past 2 days. Sometimes I just try turning it back on and it works.I dont know what to do. Its updated, but it keeps going into recovery mode.
I went to update my iphone 4s to the new software 5.1.1 update and my laptop froze during the update and I was forced to unplug the device. It is now in recovery mode and I need to get it out without restoring factory settings.
