Stuck @ "Downloading update..." screen when trying first time connection/start up.
"Downloading update... Waiting for download
This update is 43.8 MB. To continue the download, select a Wi-Fi network.
Via Wi-Fi only until Nov 26
Update size: 43.8MB".
Back button on "Downloading update..." screen doesn't respond.
6P is connected to Verizon mobile hotspot wifi. Verizon wifi speed more than 6Mbps, ping 60 ms (tested from Dolphin browser without data compression)
The 6P Wi-Fi list indicates
Status- Connected
Signal strength- Excellant
Link speed- 72Mbps
Frequency- 2.4 GHz
Security- WPA2 PSK
The 6P phone "Update phone" screen proves internet access by connecting to Google terms of service and privacy policy web pages and allowing web page links to work. Even able to navigate to the Google search/sign in page from the 6P "Update phone" screen, but can't sign in because no keyboard pop up.
Verified the wifi network works for all my other devices. Tried forgetting/rescaning wifi network many times, tried with and without the Google Fi sim card many times, tried wiping cache, factory reset, and recovery modes many times. Tried leaving the 6P connected to the Verizon mobile hotspot for more than 15 hours. Tried the Fi LTE.
After more than 25 restart/initialization attempts, only the previously mentioned web pages display on the 6P "Update phone" screen, on wifi or LTE.
I have galaxy s5 I'm currently on a vacation so I and I wish I didn't ,putted my phone in the pool,it worked fine for like 2 mins but then it told me that headset is connected although I didn't connect any,and then the screen went off,I hurried to the romm and wiped all the water inside ,but still it wouldn't work , I tried exchanging batteries, didn't work, but then outta hope I tried one last time and luckily I had a screen saying "downloading. Don't turn device off" which means that the processor and screen are working .
View 1 Replies View RelatedOver the past few days I have been having issues updating and downloading apps. When I go to do either, the app or apps just sit there "waiting", sometimes for hours. Eventually they will download or I will just connect to the computer to update. This is happening on both 3G and wifi connections.

My iPhone4 needs to be restored but each time I give iTunes the okay to start the restore it'll extract software or w/e and then go to "waiting on iPhone" then it'll do that for hours on end until I finally unplug it, I've tried several times to redo it but it doesn't work. I don't actually use it as a phone I just hook it to wifi and use it that way and keep all my music on it because I have a phone and I received this for free but can't afford the phone service.

How do I get an application off waiting mode?
Info:

My iPhone 4S will not download updates to my existing apps or new apps. Every attempt at downloading simply goes into a "waiting" status. I know it's not my network because my wife's 4S downloads apps no problem, as does my daughters iPod Touch. I have tried completely shutting my iPhone off and turning it back on. No luck. I've signed out of iTunes and back in. No luck.
Right now the only way I've been able to get updates and apps onto my phone is by syncing it, which is ridiculous. I don't understand why this suddenly started happening. I've had the phone since November with zero problems. I know it's not server traffic because my wife's downloads come in quickly on the same network. I haven't been able to download anything in several weeks now.

I recently transferred from an iPhone 4 to 4s, all my apps went across fine. I also downloaded a few new apps no problem. However, one particular app didn't download and now remains 'Waiting...' I therefore atempted to use itunes to download it and then transfer it onto the phone, the farthest the app got then was 'Installing' but no progress followed. The app cannot be deleted either using itunes and on the phone itself. I even removed all the apps on the phone using itunes but it remained 'waiting...'.
Now, the strangest part is I opened Game Center and it showed the game as installed the PLAY option in the top right. To my surprise the app opened and wroks. HOWEVER, the app remains 'waiting...' everywhere else. It cannot even be closed by double tapping the home button. This means I cannot delete the app nor simply close it - it is constantly on 'in the background'. Summary; App appears not to complete download, cannot be deleted, can be opened through game center and cannot be closed by double tapping home button.

To start off, it is an iPhone 4S running iOS 5.1 with Verizon's network. My iPhone is NOT downloading apps at all. Their download icon appears on my screen but never gets past "Waiting..." Now I am connected to a wifi network, with iCloud supporting my 4th Generation iPod Touch running iOS 5.1 and the iPhone 4S. So I've plugged my iPhone into iTunes to attempt getting the results I wish to acquire and it went alright until the download stopped a little under halfway through the download. it does not resume, it just stops. So after getting irritated, I go to my iPod to see if it can download apps, and sure enough the apps I want are sitting there on the screen. How is it possible that my iPhone 4S that is brand new can download apps, but my iPod that is slightly older can just download apps off of iCloud sync...? Please help, I need to download apps, my birthday is coming up and I plan on spending $50 on apps & music, I can't do that if I can't download any content!

I connected my 3gs to itunes today and after it asked for a 5.1 upgrade, I clicked Ok to start the process. The download of the 5.1 completed but the process failed while applying it to my phone with an error message. Now my phone is stuck without an OS and is neither getting detected by iTunes or would it start on its own

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Iphone 4 has been synchronizing for 4 hours and seems to be stuck on step 6 of 6 (Downloading Safari safe browsing data). It was taking a very long time before, and I had to stop the syncronization before it was finished. Now all of my music is greyed out. Is this normal?

It's funny, I've read a bunch of pages on restoring firmware that Apple is no longer signing. Some of them go on and on like theres no tomorrow, with steps and procedures. Some recommend downloading tinyumbrela and going through that whole process. All of them recommended putting your phone in DFU mode before proceeding.I decided to put a fresh copy of 4.0.1 on my phone and re jailbreak because my phone had slowed down due to trying out tons of random stuff. So when I went to restore I thought I was in for some work. After really reading some of these pages, I thought "why the hell would you have to go through all this trouble? As long as iTunes thinks it got its signature, it should work as normal". Well I was right. All I did was add that one line to the hosts file, using notepad. I then opened iTunes, held shift, clicked restore, clicked the 4.0.1 firmware and...that was it. iTunes verified the software, installed it, re-synced, and boom done. No DFU mode, no downloading my SHSH's, no kicking out of recovery mode. Just let iTunes do it's thing.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi was charging my phone via usb through my laptop and it suddenly went into white/grey screen with weird screen and so i pressed the home + power and went into recovery mode (itunes + usb logo). i tried to restore it and i keep on getting error 1600. after a few hours, the screen just went black and whenever i press home + power button, nothing happens. i went to a repair shop and a guy "shocked" the battery and there it went back to recovery mode. i tried to restore it again on dfu mode and still getting error 1600.
if i try it on restore mode, i will get error 21. what i did is i plug in the device, put it on recovery mode and then put it in dfu then restore and still error 1600 ---- googleed and Internetd so,me videos until i saw a video to change the host file and downloaded it and then boom --- it was fixed! while i was fixing my newly repaired iphone 4 version 5.1 -- all of a sudden it went to restarted then went into recovery mode. after a few hours again, it went to dfu mode and i went to the repair shop to shock the battery but that didn't work until now. i can't get my phone to restore mode even if i press the home + power button. stuck on dfu mode.i have a saved shsh for 5.0.1 and 5.1 -- so i built a custom firmware with snowbreeze and ifaith but i keep on getting error 3014, 1600, 1601, 1608 on restoring it.

When loading iTunes this morning an update that I had been putting off popped up and I figured since I was going to be in the house for a while I'd finally do it. An error took place that I foolishly ignored and made no note of.
My iPhone is now stuck in Recovery mode (I assume so anyway, after having googles my problem for hours), iTunes tells me I need to restore the phone and so I click to allow it to. It then gets to the "Preparing iPhone for restore" and just sits there, doing nothing.
