When you either sync you iphone or just connect it to itunes? In other words, if you plug in your iphone and there is an update possible, itunes forces your iphone to update. Can they legally do that and if so, would they ever do that?

I'm a new user to BB device. From Blackberry webpage and manual, they stated that if we wish to update our device OS, we can either update through the web (Desktop Manager) with our computer or through our device itself via service provider (Wireless update).
If I have downloaded an OS package and wish to update it manually, what are the steps for this purpose and how? Please someone explain in brief, will appreciate that and how am I to ensure that the previous version of OS is removed? I'm currently reading about how to backup my data and 3rd party data, once I'm clear with everything, will proceed with the upgrade.

View 8 Replies View RelatedAs of Monday, we noticed all our BB fleet's times were an hour ahead.[URL]... as per the link from Telstra's web site.I uploaded the required time zone update as per the instructions, confirmed it is resident in the Blackberry but am still an hour over.
Checking the time info on the BB, it shows the Network time is correct but the device time is still one hour out.As I have not been able to find anywhere in the KB article that it is for Western Australia, I am guessing this DST patch was NOT applicable for ourselves.Is there another patch I need to try to allow the BB's to work?
My iphone is stuck in the recovery mode, it is not coming out of the mode after the iOS upgrade failure. I can hear the beep sound of the USB connectivity when i try to switch on/off the phone connected to my windows computer. But it is not being listed in the itunes devices. Is there a chance that the recovery is running in the background without showing up on the iTunes?

I tried via PC companion, but it stops at the second phase ("prepare") telling me it's "Unable to install or start phone software update components". I looked at the forums and I found out a lot of people seem to have a problem with PC companion, so I tried Update Service. At startup, it says "Proxy login required".

If you get it an apple store, I know they activate it for you there. Assuming all the models have 4.0 or 4.01 on it, do they update it to the newest firmware for you there? I only ask because my upgrade availability finally got taken care of, and i wanna pick up another ip4 (which of course I don't want them to so I can jb). My last IP4, I had delivered at home, so I could do what I want. I just don't know what the in store process was.

When i try to update a free App i keep getting message box that Apple ID has been disabled. I have changed my password twice and when i view my apple id from the app store it accepts my new password but i still get the id disabled message when trying to update.
