IPhone :: Get Old Files Off Of My 4 And Set This Computer As The New Host?
Apr 23, 2012
I recently built my new computer. I didn't back up my old library. Now when I plug in my iPhone 4 it tells me I have to restore. If I restore, I lose over 2000 songs and lots of data. How do I set this computer as the new host AND get all of my files off of the phone onto this computer?
i have voice recordings and pictures that are in my backed up folder on my computer, but my phone is backed up to two days ago. how do i get those files that are on my computer onto my phone??
My computer's hard drive and backup drive both malfunctioned at the same time, and I've lost a lot of the mp3 files that still live on my iPhone4. I want to download the mp3 files on my iPhone back onto the new drives so I don't have to re-do 1500 songs. I can't find anything that shows how to do this, and it's very frustrating that something so simple isn't a basic feature. (The Sync function wipes out all the data on the iPhone, but doesn't allow for the reverse...very stupid design, in my opinion.) And in Windows XP--no jokes please--the iPhone files on the windows explorer only shows photos, no music...again, not a very smart design. So how do I export my music files back to my computer and back up drive?
I followed the steps given to find evidence of backup, particularly of texts, but really cannot find that it is backed up anywhere on my computer. How to locate those files? I definitely want to keep them before switching over to my new iphone, since the new SIM card is not going to work in the old phone anymore....
i smahsed the screen up and now i cant access anything on the phone, even though display is fine and messsages are still being recieved. this mean without touchcreen i cant get any of the saved media off the device on to my computer.
Prelims:I am part of a Enterprise account (old phone and new phone)Old Phone = Tour 9630 with 2gb mSD card. New Phone = Torch 9850 with a 16gb mSD card. I have the 'raw' .jpg.rem files from my old phones mSD card on my computer I have access to the old 2gb mSD card but the images were deleted. I have access to the old phone but it isnt enabled on the enterprise account..I know the pwd used on the old phone and the one on the new phone I cannot connect the phones to my computer as a storage device.
How can i get these pictures from my desktop computer to the new phone?
I've backed up my device and I was planning on copying the old files on to my new model blackberry, but I wont have my new device for a few weeks, and my current model is broke, so I'm stuck with an old Sony Ericson, but I need to view my files to get my contacts and passwords etc, so is it possible to view my files on my computer without attaching my old phone which is broken?
Does anybody know how i would install a .APK file.. downloaded it earlier.. but i dont know where to save it to on my phones memory card, or how to install it
I think about 4 weeks ago, I accidentally switched from JPG to .DNG settings (5 MP + 34 MP DNG mode). I noticed my picture sizes on my onedrive are much smaller(from 10mb to 1mb) and less quality. DNG files are +40MB in size, so its no wonder that onedrive is only uploading what I assume the 5 MP files.
Anyways, when I try to upload the DNG files on my laptop from my camera via usb cord, it doesn't come out right .Not only is it huge(+40mb), but the color is disorted to purplish and very bad quality.
You know that kindle fire commercial where the mom is on the phone puts her kindle on the roof of the car, forgets it there, drives, and kindle drops on the ground? that happened to me today, but worse, as i was in a rush to go to an appointment, my phone hit the ground pretty hard. obviously the screen is cracked and the screen will not work. it's mostly just dialing 4's and 9's and it's waking up randomly. I cannot unlock my phone to transfer all of my files! I don't have an sd card, everything is kept in the internal memory and I keep everything on my phone! What are my options? I've tried shutting it down and turning it back on but the screen is still messed up. i need to unlock it to allow transfer of files from phone to computer, at least that's the only way i know how to do it. are there any other ways?
I have galaxy s5 and the photos and videos i take with camera stored in extrnal sd card. but when i wanted to transfer these to my computer the computer does not see the video files in that sd card folder, and it only sees the picture files. how can i also see and transfer video files to my computer?

I am trying to transfer media files from computer to BB and it gives message device memory full while it is empty. How to check the usage of media memory and transfer the files from computer?
On Win 7 when I connect my phone to the computer some files and folders don't show up even though they are indeed there. Is this a compatibility or driver issue?
I have rooted and installed the custom recovery everything is working fine, but this is just a little weird.
I just transferred all my data from my Galaxy S6 Edge to my computer via Smart Switch, now how do I view the files? I know where they are, but when I try to open them, I get a message indicating the computer doesn't recognize the file type. What program do I use to view them? Messages are what I'm most concerned with.
Apparently I lack sufficient brainpower to do something that, in my small feeble mind, I assumed would be easy: connect my Nexus 5 to a Windows 7 PC via Bluetooth so that I can access the storage files on my Nexus. Very specific, very simple, yet it does not work. I have searched everywhere, and I do not need a tutorial on how to pair them. I have them paired. That pairing does not do anything, it has no function.
On my Nexus 5, it says it is paired to my PC. On my PC, I have a fugly *** Nokia-esque icon that has "Nexus 5" under icon listed under Bluetooth Devices. I do not understand what else I need to do?
P.S. How do I find "Bluetooth drivers"? Windows update has no clue WTF to do, and like I said, I am retarded and lack basic reading comprehension since I cannot find any information that is relevant through searching online.
The title pretty much says it all. Once you are connected to a computer, well for me, my S5 will show all data, including external SD card data. Is there anyway where I can set up a password or some sort where you have to type it in before your computer will recognize the device and allow access?
I bought a new LG Gw620R phone few weeks ago and clicked some pitures of my parents anniversary party however am not able to transfer them to the computer..when i connect the USB to the computer it says hardware found however the computer does not detect it and nothing happenes.I called up LG support and they said that you need to buy the USB cable seperatly ..At the store the person said that the USB cable is fine and you dont need to buy another one.Can someone please let me know how to transfer files to the computer..
I used to have a nokia n95 a few years back, I no longer have it. But I found a load of old files in a folder labelled 'nokia n95 phone messages' stored on my comp. As the folder name suggests, they're phone messages (I assume so anyway) ! I now want to open these messages but cant find a way to do so! I have downloaded the nokia suite 3.2.100 and tried to open them in there, but to no avail. How I could open these files on windows?!
Is there a way to wirelessly transfer files from your computer to your phone? I use AIM yo transfer files form my laptop to my desktop, is there anyway to do that from computer to phone and vice versa?
I am using Gingerbread's encryption feature. I took a bunch of photos on vacation, went to transfer them to my computer via USB cable, and was dismayed to find they came across as "unknown files". They had the correct name and jpg extension, but I couldn't view the photos. This is only true of photos I have taken since encrypting the device. tried disabling the encryption feature, and doing it again, with the same result. What am I doing wrong? How can I view my own files, while still using encryption? Also, where is the encryption feature documentation located?
I want to transfer some videos and photos from my Xoom to my computer (which has Windows XP and Windows Media Player 11). My understanding is that this combination only allows a transfer FROM the computer TO the tablet -- what do I need to make the transfer in the other direction?
I have a Xoom tablet ( FE) and after I upgraded to ICS, I can no longer transfer files from my computer to my Xoom. I used a usb cord to copy my Word ducuments to tablet, but the sd card in tablet does not show anything. I did a factory reset and called tech support but nothing works. And there is no way to formet the sd card ( from computer or sd card)
I have Vista on my desktop computer. I see Xoom under "My Computer", I found "Device Storage" and started copying the files from Xoom to a new folder. All of a sudden Vista stopped copying the folders and daid it can't read from the device.ow after updating the drivers with Download Motorola 5.2.0 Driver with MotoHelper* , checking to see if USB Debugging is unchecked and pulling my hair out, there is no Device Storage displaying to access. My Xoom shows under "My Computer" but then after double clikcing to access the Xoom, it's empty..
