May 7, 2012I've tried to upgrade from iOS 5.0.1 to 5.1 on my iPhone. It fails with error "Unable to install Update".

Dec 6, 2011I received notification that a system update is available for 4.0.2.A.0.42 and that this update can only be done with PC Companion. I followed every instruction but I had to abort the process when PC Companion prompted me to discontinue due to low battery conditions. I charged my battery. I connected phone and continued process. In step two - prepare - I get the error message: Installation Error: unable to install or start phone software update components. I tried several times but I still get the same error. I restarted my computer and my phone numerous times and still the same error is popping up.

Feb 24, 2010I bought a new E55 unlocked.I have a problem with it, i am only able to install j2me but cant install any sisx apps.ive tried downloading new ones e.g. from www.fring.com for my OS directly on the phone and also gmaps, stright from the phone browser but all in vain it gives an error "Unable to install" i checked the settings in App manager and set it to all software installation and online check is desabled, tried to install again, no victory, same error. tried to update firmware to this new version from pc, it failed, halted the ongoing update then tried OTA , it succeeded but the version it updated it to is 022.009 and not the latest tried software installation again, got the same error my mind is boggled as to what is going on any ideas guys.Ps: i went into *#0000# and then into options and update still gets the 022.009 version my variant is "asia pacific" region.

Now whn i try downloading them again eg ebuddy, apps frm ovi then after download, its says unable to install. It does for all software downloads. May 13, 2012So when my iPhone downloaded the bar didn't move at all until it jumped to full and said 5.1.1 was ready to install. It started installing, but the bar under the apple logo while updating never moved. It suddenly restarted and went to the lock screen normally. I went to settings to check for a update to see if it installed, but is says 5.1.1 is downloaded from the Internet, but not installed. I keep on trying to click install on my phone, but it says verifying update then pops up a "unable to update" and underneath say "an error occurred installing iOS 5.1.1." I'm thinking it downloaded faulty, so that's why it won't verify correctly. How do I delete the downloaded software so I can get a clean download. Reseting, powering down doesn't work. My computer is not available so I can only update the OTA or wireless way.

May 20, 2010I'm having a problem when trying to update my Nokia 5230 using the Nokia Suite.Please note; my phone is plugged in, there is an update for my phone as the last time it was updated was when it made manufactured (nov 09). The USB mode is on 'PC suite'. I have downloaded all the latest versions of the Nokia Suite.

I have tried to do this over WiFi, Over the Air, Through Itune (running the latest version) but still no luck. I am don't know what else to do. Does anyone know what the next thing I should try? This same error is for the Ipad and Apply TV2. Is there something that I need to do with my Apple ID account?

Aug 30, 2011i have a xoom 32gb wifi only device that i purchased from woot.com and i received the update notice to 3.1. i have downloaded and attempted to install several times now, each attempt has failed.
see attached image for error I have tried a Factory Reset (Settings -> Privacy -> Factory Data Reset), as well as factory reset at boot. No success.
I also tried the "wipe cache" command at boot and this did not result in a successful installation either. The only other choice at boot that makes sense is to "install update from usb", and when selected it goes to sdcard.
At this point I am seriously considering rooting, unlocking and then updating?

Mar 16, 2012When i try to ugrade my phone software i get the error message "Unable to install or start phone software update conponents" . i restarted phone, pc suite, reinstalled, but my phone is not getting upgraded. pc suit says latest upgrades are available. Even if i go for repair phone same option comes.
Hestory : last night i tried to upgrade my phone using Sony Update service. it ran upgrade and everything was new. all previously installed softwares are gone.
Symptoms: it shows android 2.3.4 version on phone but in PC suit while, upgrade using pc suite it says vrsion 4 .a .XXX , and upgrading to 4.b.XXX ... then it proceeds and fails with error "Unable to install or start phone software update conponents" .
