I live in Barcelona spain and bought a new 5800XM for christmas. As soon as I saw the new free navagator I tried to install, but it says that it needs latest firmware 31.0.008 or onwards, so I duely try to update my phone, I download the nokia software updater, conect my phone and it then tells me:-

how can this be when I see people have v40. What am I doing wrong, I read someones feed saying I must wait wait and wait for my operator to update. Is this true, does this not com from nokia.
I recently bought a Nokia 6700 with maps preinstalled. I updated the firmware to the latest version and now the maps application has disappeared. I do not have the software and I cannot download it from the Nokia site, as it sais that on the 6700 model it is pre-installed.How can I get the maps program back on my phone?
I can't install the new ovi maps version 3.03 on my 5800XM (firmware version 31.0.101). installation is always aborted by "unknown error: -5", when i retry installation my mobile says 3.03 is already installed, but when i check the version-number it shows 3.01 (maybe it's interesting that nokia maps updater didn't find any updates.)

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe latest Nokia Maps update refuses to install either via Nokia Suite or OTA (version 3.8.105) but simply says that something went wrong/isntall failed and doesn't even report an error code. I installed another update for the phone 1 week or so ago and Maps wouldn't connect to a GPS-satellite and thus was unable to navigate but this seems to have corrected itself with the reset. I've tried soft resetting and returning the phone to factory settings but the update still refuses to download and install.
View 4 Replies View RelatedFinally got my mitts on one of these amazing phones and loving everything about it.However the euphoria is being slowly eroded by Vodafone's lack of support and knowledge of the device.Since taking delivery of the handset on 4th of March, it and I have been unable to find any firmware updates through the normal channels (Nokia's own update page, NSU and the OTA update search can't find any updates beyond the 1.2009.42-11.205.1). According to Vodafone the latest firmware for the device should be 2.2009.51.1.
I know there's a Maemo Flashing Tool available and have downloaded it and the firmware, but I can't get an answer from Vodafone whether this will void my Vodafone warranty.
I'm concerned that as it won't update now, it won't update when Meego hits the servers.

I've tried to update my E63 software using Nokia Suite v3.3.86 but in vain.
The steps I've followed in the 3rd step fo update process (i.e. Install) are as follows with screenshots attached:
1. It checks for valid installation file (see attached "Installation file validation.png"). Since the update has been downloaded by it previously, it proceeds to next step.
2. It starts preparing to install (see attached "Preparing to install.png").
3. It show USB connection active screen with a windows notification saying "Nokia E63 disconnected via USB" is seen on "Install screen". (see attached "Install Screen.png" for "Install Screen").
4. Next with the same USB connection active screen, a windows notification saying "Nokia E63 connected via USB" is seen on "Install screen".
5. The windows notification disappears and the screen is still at the "Install Screen" (see attached "Install Screen.png").
6. Nothing happens even after waiting for a long time. Clicking "Next" repeats the above mentioned process from step 2.
Dialing "*#0000#" gives the following info:

The USB mode is on 'PC suite'. I have downloaded all the latest versions of the Nokia Suite.
When I click 'Update Phone Software", it takes me to the updater. When it comes to the 'Searching for a connected device', it hands for about 1-2 minutes, then says "Unable to find device".
I have E72 with this specification:E72-2, RM 529, version 022.007.I am trying to install new firmware version 31.023. Although I found out this version is released but my Nokia software updater just say my current firmware (22.007) is up to date! Is it possible? How can I install new firmware?

I've bought a new 5800 Xpress music recently and have three questions with Ovi maps:
1. I don't see any satellite (photo) maps when selecting the satellite mode in the display options; instead, the map is just filled with a pattern of alternating dark green and light green linear areas. How do I enable real satellite data, as shown in the attached picture?
2. The update speed of the map when navigating on foot or by car seems very slow. Is there some way to increase / improve this?
3. The phone doesn't seem to recognize really well if I hold it vertically or horizontally. Can I improve that behavior, or switch between manually?

I've recently updated my firmware version to 05.15, and upon starting Maps (sorry I don't know which version I have currently), I get an error saying "Cannot open application. Get latest version from nokia.com/maps". I've downloaded the appropriate file (selected using the tool on the website), but I cannot install version 3.01 as my phone will not install a .sis file. Is there a .sisx version of Maps which I'm obviously not seeing somewhere? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

It won't install the latest maps version 3.0. I copied the files from the memory card which came with the phone to my 8GB card but this doesn't fix the problem.
