I am using the nokia n70 cell phone. My problem is that, when I install a theme then it reply an error is "installation security error. unable to install".
View 3 RepliesI bought a new E55 unlocked.I have a problem with it, i am only able to install j2me but cant install any sisx apps.ive tried downloading new ones e.g. from www.fring.com for my OS directly on the phone and also gmaps, stright from the phone browser but all in vain it gives an error "Unable to install" i checked the settings in App manager and set it to all software installation and online check is desabled, tried to install again, no victory, same error. tried to update firmware to this new version from pc, it failed, halted the ongoing update then tried OTA , it succeeded but the version it updated it to is 022.009 and not the latest tried software installation again, got the same error my mind is boggled as to what is going on any ideas guys.Ps: i went into *#0000# and then into options and update still gets the 022.009 version my variant is "asia pacific" region.

But i have a problem with it ..... the problem that when i download any thing from nokia OVI Store from my mobile like: Games, apps and videos when download finished and starting to install the games or the apps it's say's: "installation failed" and when i redownload it again nothing change and keep saying "installation failed" ........ and i noted that when i install app ( themes, apps and games ) on my mobile by ovi suite or by file manager it also say's to me "Expired Certificat" even if i signed this apps but it alwyas say's "Expired Certificat"....... for this problem i did: hard reset - format my mobile - format my sd card - update my mobile to v40 - but the problem never stops to return in a few hours ..... then i find out that when i need to install any app on my mobile (by ovi suite or ovi store in my mobile or file manager) i have to switch off the mobile and turn it on again to install what ever i want ...... so Plz help me out

I have two N8 phones. On my first N8, I did the Anna update. I now have two sets of "midnight" themes on this phone, one set that looks like it did before, and one set that has a symbol at the right of the theme name that sort of looks like a coffee cup. For the themes with the "coffee cup" symbol to the right of the theme name, all the theme icons have been modified to something a bit fancier than the original. What does the "coffee cup" symbol mean? My newest N8 was recently updated to Anna. It only has the old-style themes named "midnight color-name". The icons for the themes still look like they did before the Anna update. How can I get this fancier theme icons on my other N8? If it's simply a matter of downloading the new, full and complete Nokia "midnight" themes for the N8 phone with Anna, where do I go to get them? I've searched all over, and found lots of "midnight" themes, but not the ones I'm looking for (which apparently were installed on one of my phones as part of the Anna Update.

I followed every instruction but I had to abort the process when PC Companion prompted me to discontinue due to low battery conditions. I charged my battery. I connected phone and continued process. In step two - prepare - I get the error message: Installation Error: unable to install or start phone software update components. I tried several times but I still get the same error. I restarted my computer and my phone numerous times and still the same error is popping up.

i can install some app but some of them are cancelled with this error message "Network connection lost cancelling installation" and there's a message to select a particular icon to continue installation, but i cant find that icon in my N8 some snapshot of this error is attached
I updated my Nokia N8 to Anna ages ago and everything was fine. But then a few days ago I got a notification about a new software update, so I did it. And now whenever I try to install something (app, theme - you name it), I get the "Unable to install" error. This goes for both via usb and directly from phone.

A few hours ago it forced me to download version 1.3 and when it went through the install process it said "Unable to Install. "I still cannot access the social app without the forced upgrade and the upgrade keeps failing.I've also tried updating with software updates and it is not showing up.In addition I downloaded it on my PC, transferred it to my N8 and attempted a reboot and install, still "unable to install."

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm having a lot of trouble getting any Nokia software to work on my PC.(This was the same for my previous Nokia 2730.)The first time I connected my N8-00 to my PC, running Windows Vista 32, my PC worked out it was an N8-00 and a window appeared asking me to confirm AutoPlay settings - there was a checkbox (which I checked), but no OK button.
I could go to Start > Computer and see the N8-00 there though.I opened the device and found the Ovi Suite Installer and tried to run that (because the downloaded version didn't work either - I'll start another thread about my troubles with Ovi Suite) but it didn't work.I then removed the phone from my PC.Now whenever I connect my phone to my PC Windows tries to install the N8-00 drivers and fails, giving me these messages:

Now whn i try downloading them again eg ebuddy, apps frm ovi then after download, its says unable to install. It does for all software downloads. What it didn't tell me was that it would replace all of my icons with something that makes it look like a kids toy. I don't want pretty rounded icons that all look virtually the same but in different colours, I want standard icons. After looking around on the internet, I found some good information recommending "Weatherbug" for the N8. Info can be found here:[URL] I tried to downloadn and install the program. I got a message that doing so might also require downloading other software that might be up to 12 megs or so. (I guessed this was QT, which I already have from my installation of Nokia Bubbles.) I downloade the sofware, and got a message that I then had to get the first of two downloads. After the download, the installation failed, and I got a message that I should click on an icon for something like "smart install" to continue.Clicking on "Smart Installer ADM" gets me to "Continuing Installation Weather Bug".I need to connect to the internetI so I click on "connect this time". For example, Nokia Sleeping Screen. It downloads and the Ovi bar says "installing" then a smaller window appear in the lower section of the screen saying "preparing installation" then "Installing" then after a few seconds "installation Failed. Some apps for example Spotify installs perfectly, but here the bottom window don't appear at all. I have made a full reset, problem remains. I did a 3 finger reset, problem remains.
