I am really fed up of seeing others with android phones having fancy effects in their GUI.I am loyal customer of Nokia and Nokia N8 is my 4th phone (3310, 6600, N81, N8) because of quality, durability and user friendliness.I also would like to have Fancy GUI in Nokia smart phones.
i saw many videos on Internet showing where different and more striking effects that bring symbian belle. even in the video of the new fp2 effects are better.
I'm looking for a theme that replaces the Anna style icons from my N8 and replaces them with how it used to look.Ovi told me that there was an update available for my N8 with improved features so I downloaded and installed it. What it didn't tell me was that it would replace all of my icons with something that makes it look like a kids toy. I don't want pretty rounded icons that all look virtually the same but in different colours, I want standard icons. I want a picture of a spanner for settings, I want a picture of a calculator for calculator, I want a picture of a calendar for calendar and so on.Is there a downloadable theme that replaces these childish looking icons for the original ones? The N8 is a telephone, not something made by Fisher-Price......
I have two N8 phones. On my first N8, I did the Anna update. I now have two sets of "midnight" themes on this phone, one set that looks like it did before, and one set that has a symbol at the right of the theme name that sort of looks like a coffee cup. For the themes with the "coffee cup" symbol to the right of the theme name, all the theme icons have been modified to something a bit fancier than the original. What does the "coffee cup" symbol mean? My newest N8 was recently updated to Anna. It only has the old-style themes named "midnight color-name". The icons for the themes still look like they did before the Anna update. How can I get this fancier theme icons on my other N8? If it's simply a matter of downloading the new, full and complete Nokia "midnight" themes for the N8 phone with Anna, where do I go to get them? I've searched all over, and found lots of "midnight" themes, but not the ones I'm looking for (which apparently were installed on one of my phones as part of the Anna Update.
I am using the nokia n70 cell phone. My problem is that, when I install a theme then it reply an error is "installation security error. unable to install".
I updated my E72's software from version 022.007 to 031.023, and since the update fade effects when I enter Menu etc. are completely gone. Phone works fine otherwise. Is this normal? "The 9000 series is the most reliable computer ever made." HAL 9000
I'm comparing to my 5530, On the contacts bar it nicely blends into the back ground, on the 5800 is a dirty oversized white block with the contact in the middle, no blending in or anything, same on the email, a horrible big white square, nothing blended in, I've tried different themes, and reflashed but no good.
I have a problem with E52, 033.002 software. Let's say I set the theme to the one I have installed on memory card. Everything looks fine untill I want to charge my phone. Then, the theme switches automatically to completely different one (light blue like) and sometimes doesn't switch back if I disconnect the charger - I have to set it up manually again. Even if it happens that the theme is the right one after disconnecting the charger, I have to set up the background image again, which is reset to "default".When I use themes installed in phone memory everything works fine. The workaround I can do is to copy the theme from the card to phone mem (don't know how), or to change something in the phone soft to avoid changing theme.Does anybody have some idea?
When I change the theme to 'Shortcuts bar' and go back into 'Homescreen' I am given 5 options to display. Shortcuts, Search, Music Player, Radio and Calendar. However, only 'Shortcuts' and 'Search' actually work, and it doesn' event allow for E-mail notification as an option. Any work arounds/fixes for this problem, or am I doing something wrong?
I just got my phone back from service after having some software problems. It seems to work fine now, except for the fact that the guys from service reinstalled symbian for the black and red version and thus my theme now is red stripes, red etc... My phone is the blue and white(5530) version and I would preffer to have the blue theme. The red theme just doesn't cut it for the blue/white phones.

First time the phone hanged, I needed to hard reset it, to enter the phone. Now it hanged while I was swtiching theme.
I hard resetet it, and began from the begining again. Although, next time I turned the mobile on, it didn't go further than the white background with the Nokia text.
There is no point to do the procedure again, and I'm sure if I manage to enter the phone again, I will have feature problems with it.
Today, when I connected to Nokia OVI Suite, it prompted me to update the phone software. I did it. After that, midnight theme is applied. I dint like it. How to remove this theme ?
I have tried to find a solution in google search but could not find one.

I think this is not correct and want go into Settings to Change the Theme back to my Settings (default skin when i have buyed it, with changed background). But i can go into Settings > Personal -> Themes. I see the menu points now in Themes for 1-2 seconds and it goes back to the view of Personal. After updating the gallery app through the play store my At&t M8 can not do duo camera effects on any new photo taken. Anytime I try to press ufocus or any of the duo options it says can not use duo effects on this photo.. I can uninstall the gallery update to stock and take the exact same photo and it works fine.
I 've recently bought new Nokia 5530 express music. i found out that the General icon under themes setting are not functioning. Also, I can't install any application. Always failed and expired certificate message are popping out.
I have a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and am currently using the Contacts Bar Home Screen Theme, which I find very useful.
However, I would also like to have my calendar visible on the home screen, as is possible on the Shortcuts Bar Theme. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a way to have both the Contacts Bar and the Calendar visible on the Home Screen.
Bought my C6-01 about a month back. Just did an update using Ovi Suite and don't quite like the Midnight themes that came with the update (there were no previews). How do I go back to the original 'green grass' theme that came with the phone?
