I use my Social app & widget frequently throughout the day. A few hours ago it forced me to download version 1.3 and when it went through the install process it said "Unable to Install. "I still cannot access the social app without the forced upgrade and the upgrade keeps failing.I've also tried updating with software updates and it is not showing up.In addition I downloaded it on my PC, transferred it to my N8 and attempted a reboot and install, still "unable to install."
I'm having a lot of trouble getting any Nokia software to work on my PC.(This was the same for my previous Nokia 2730.)The first time I connected my N8-00 to my PC, running Windows Vista 32, my PC worked out it was an N8-00 and a window appeared asking me to confirm AutoPlay settings - there was a checkbox (which I checked), but no OK button.
I could go to Start > Computer and see the N8-00 there though.I opened the device and found the Ovi Suite Installer and tried to run that (because the downloaded version didn't work either - I'll start another thread about my troubles with Ovi Suite) but it didn't work.I then removed the phone from my PC.Now whenever I connect my phone to my PC Windows tries to install the N8-00 drivers and fails, giving me these messages:

I am using the nokia n70 cell phone. My problem is that, when I install a theme then it reply an error is "installation security error. unable to install".
I factory resoted my phone and then I installed the updates but the social update keeps giving me an error about update failed. I have tried to factory resore my phone again and its the same thing. I even downloaded and tried to install it manually but it gives me a unable to install error message.
I updated my n8 "social" to ver 1.5.215....... I really HATE it. Completly useless (used to roll all updates automatic on my start screen, now there is a white **bleep** bar i have to click on) also ( twitter and facebook in same bar )
SO anyone know how i roll back to the good old ver.
I have an interesting problem with my N8 (this is an up to date phone, no hacking, no CFW).I have removed the Nokia Social App widget from the second screen, than I wanted to put them back again. Ohhh... I can't find the Social App widget in the widget list. I don't know why because I never hacked my phone, I download apps only from the store, etc... I am a little disappointed guys :
I have uninstalled the Social App and the widget app from the applications. I ran a software update check, which show me the Social App to download, it is ok, it was reinstall successfully, but... where is the widget for the Social app?So how can I reinstall the Nokia Social App widget again? Where can I download it?
All of sudden this message is popping up "Sorry please uninstall and reinstall communities" whenever i tried to access the facebook or click the "Social Network" button in address book.Tried reinstalling the firmware, uninstalling the app & reinstalling. Nothing works. I saw previous posting regarding this, but no helpful reply from Nokia. Expecting more support from Nokia rather than being ignorant.
a few months ago,i'd updated my c6-01 to nokia belle, but a few days after that I found my social app saying unable to start.....and my ovi music store is not working.
I updated Social app in my Nokia n8.but it is not working now.it says: network is not available. try again lateralthough my mobile has gprs activatedearlier ,before update, it was working fine.i don't know what happened.what i should do now.
I'm using Nokia N8 and the Social ver 1.3.237. I just want to know whether Nokia can add the notification in this app. I face a problem to know the update from my friends..
Why is it so big now? It takes up nearly half a home screen. I'm using facebook summary now but I have to click on it rather than just glancing at what's going on with the narrow widget info of my friends updates.If you're happy with the narrow social widget for that reason then don't update, also if you're not into this fat Belle widget thing Nokia seems to have going.There's a difference between giving us the option to have more home screens to actually forcing us to use them. Nokia, you're winding me up.
I tried to log in to facebook direct on the web and my phone told me I had to install an update. I pressed ok but it then told me I had too many things open and to go close some. I went and closed some but when I got back to the page it said it had aborted the update. I then went back to my homescreen and the widget had disappeared!
Tried countless times to open Nokia Ovi store however a "required update" is necessary. Clicked to update to 3.22.054, downloaded 4.54mb fine then installing, then "required update failed". Retry failed each time too. Tried to uninstall via application manager but it self cancelled before installing. Tried turning phone on and off to reset with 3 vibrations and still no joy.
Also Google maps app wont install so i suspect it may be install related rather than app related.
Got 72.3Mb free c memory and 4Gb's free mass memory.
i have accidentally removed my preset social widget in nokia n8. I donot like the widgets in updated versions. After factory reset a message displayed ...error occurred widget removed. How can i get back to previous version?
3 days ago my news feeds stop loading, updated app in social, in ovi suite updated ovi social, can connect to facebook on mobile via internet all works ok, through social i can see everything else but not updated, i posted to see a current log..social app said cannot connect to feeds, yet the message had been sent to facebook, i can see it through pc?
I updated my Nokia N8 to Anna ages ago and everything was fine. But then a few days ago I got a notification about a new software update, so I did it. And now whenever I try to install something (app, theme - you name it), I get the "Unable to install" error. This goes for both via usb and directly from phone.
Two moths ago, there was an update to nokia chat. I've installed it, but afer that nokia chat ceased to function. When I entered it, it just said "Service temporarily unavailable.lease try later". Same thing happened with Social. I hoped that this would get solved with symbian anna, but it didn't. Now, when i enter the app, only the loading screen appears, the one with welcome to ovi, an then nothing. It just exits the app. Note that I uninstalled and reinstalled these apps many, many times, but still, they do not work.
I am unable to access Facebook/Twitter through Social application on my Nokia N8. I am getting an "Unable to connect to gateway. Please try again" error. I am using GPRS (not WiFi) and I am able to access internet through the browser, download apps from Ovi etc.. I have a Nokia N82 running on v35.0.002 and whenever I try downloading Ovi Store from the download pplication it downloads well but when it reaches 75% of installation it says unable to install
Recently I bought a used N8 which has been working as expected until I noticed that it wouldn't install a single app. When I got the phone the previous user had reset the phone to factory settings and in general tried to turn it back to it's original condition. At first all apps installed without problems. The only app I experienced problems with was Nokia Store, which always got stuck on the loading screen and never opened. Now my N8 hasn't been able to install any apps what so ever, especially no .sis or .sisx files. The installation of .sis or .sisx files results in a error message Unable to install (or something similar in english). The newest software of Symbian Anna is installed on the phone. The only app I've been able to install is one with a .wgz ending.I've tried to reset the phone to factory settings again, reset the device with *#7370# code and held the power button for 8 seconds, and my problem persists.
My problem is I cant install ovi store on my nokia. When i download installation file and run it, it says its installing. When its almost end of installation it says 'installation was impossible'.
I have a new Nokia 700. Updated firmware, connected to Telstra, connected to the web but can't install any apps. It downloads then gives error "can't install".
