Nokia Nseries :: N8 Social Client Down?
Nov 21, 2011Each time i launch the "Social"-app on my N8 it shows a "Service Not Available"-message. Everything else works just fine (Maps,Store,etc...).

Nokia Applications :: Social Client And Blogs Not Working?
Dec 21, 2012from last week social client & nokia blogs not working. Facebook / Twitter / Conversations / Blog etc... are not opening. Get a blank white screen with only option to exit. Surprisingly the social widget is getting updated with posts from both Facebook & Twitter! But if i click to open then its the same issue...

Dec 9, 2010I factory resoted my phone and then I installed the updates but the social update keeps giving me an error about update failed. I have tried to factory resore my phone again and its the same thing. I even downloaded and tried to install it manually but it gives me a unable to install error message.

Nokia Nseries :: Reinstall Social App Widget Again?
Jan 16, 2012I have an interesting problem with my N8 (this is an up to date phone, no hacking, no CFW).I have removed the Nokia Social App widget from the second screen, than I wanted to put them back again. Ohhh... I can't find the Social App widget in the widget list. I don't know why because I never hacked my phone, I download apps only from the store, etc... I am a little disappointed guys :
I have uninstalled the Social App and the widget app from the applications. I ran a software update check, which show me the Social App to download, it is ok, it was reinstall successfully, but... where is the widget for the Social app?So how can I reinstall the Nokia Social App widget again? Where can I download it?

Oct 24, 2010All of sudden this message is popping up "Sorry please uninstall and reinstall communities" whenever i tried to access the facebook or click the "Social Network" button in address book.Tried reinstalling the firmware, uninstalling the app & reinstalling. Nothing works. I saw previous posting regarding this, but no helpful reply from Nokia. Expecting more support from Nokia rather than being ignorant.

Jan 25, 2011I use my Social app & widget frequently throughout the day. A few hours ago it forced me to download version 1.3 and when it went through the install process it said "Unable to Install. "I still cannot access the social app without the forced upgrade and the upgrade keeps failing.I've also tried updating with software updates and it is not showing up.In addition I downloaded it on my PC, transferred it to my N8 and attempted a reboot and install, still "unable to install."

Feb 22, 2012Why is it so big now? It takes up nearly half a home screen. I'm using facebook summary now but I have to click on it rather than just glancing at what's going on with the narrow widget info of my friends updates.If you're happy with the narrow social widget for that reason then don't update, also if you're not into this fat Belle widget thing Nokia seems to have going.There's a difference between giving us the option to have more home screens to actually forcing us to use them. Nokia, you're winding me up.

Oct 27, 2010I tried to log in to facebook direct on the web and my phone told me I had to install an update. I pressed ok but it then told me I had too many things open and to go close some. I went and closed some but when I got back to the page it said it had aborted the update. I then went back to my homescreen and the widget had disappeared!

Apr 29, 2012The email client on my N8 with Belle suddenly stopped working. I have configured my email with IMAP (Standard not OVI!) and it was working OK until a couple of days ago. Now I can not retrieve/send any email - I always get the message: "Unable to sign in. Try again.". I also tried and removed this particular account and added it once again (as a matter of fact I did this about 10 times!!!) but still no emails are shown. Of course this same mail is working perfectly on all of my PCs and notebooks.

Sep 3, 2011Two moths ago, there was an update to nokia chat. I've installed it, but afer that nokia chat ceased to function. When I entered it, it just said "Service temporarily unavailable.lease try later". Same thing happened with Social. I hoped that this would get solved with symbian anna, but it didn't. Now, when i enter the app, only the loading screen appears, the one with welcome to ovi, an then nothing. It just exits the app. Note that I uninstalled and reinstalled these apps many, many times, but still, they do not work.

Mar 23, 2011I can't get the default email client to behave like a pop3 client. Apart from some small bugs, like if inbox is empty you can't get to your sent folder, I can send and receive emails properly. However, I can't find a normal pop3 setting Leave mail on server. Which means it will download all new messages from the server, and nothing else.Now it more or less behaves like a mapi client and syncs against the server and removes all messages from the inbox that I have deleted from the server. But I want to have the messages on the phone until I delete them.Any email program out there that I can use on the Nokia E7 that can be used as a normal pop3 client? Apart from this email problem I would say that Nokia E7 is the best phone I have had so far. If I only could get the Nokia E7 hardware and use N900 software it would be perfect

Nokia :: Disappointed About Mail Client On E72
Mar 15, 2010I have to admit that I'm really disappointed about the quality of the mail client on the E72. I assumed that the E72 as a business device will cover e-mail, the most important business app, in a satisfying way which is not the case.
The datasheet states that IMAP idle is supported which as far as I can tell is not the case. Whatever settings you try to change the connection to the IMAP server is terminated after some minutes and no notification on new emails will take place.
In addition you are able to define multiple connection points with priority but you are not able to use them by the mail client in this way. You either have the possibility to set only one specific connection point or you have to select the desired on each time the device tries to connect to your mail servers.
What I expect is to specify different WLAN access points and UMTS of my provider with different priorities and the device is using whatever is available at my current location taking priorities into consideration.
It's a pain to see how easily and self-evident all these work on the iPhones of my business partners.I'm a loyal Nokia user since the early days of mobile communication but I have to admit that this time I seriously consider defecting to the dark side.

Jun 16, 2010I have N97 with up-to-date firmware. I installed NM, as per instructions on email.nokia.com through the phone browser - no problems there. When I start Email application (from Menu/Applications/Menu) it goes though email setup process which ends with successful creation of an email account in Messaging folder. Once set up is completed and Email client application is run again, it goes again to email setup and does not start nokia email client.Within the whole process, there was no option to register to Nokia Messaging account.I can receive and send emails, but through basic SMS-type client. How can I get NM client running?

Jan 9, 2010On my E63, when I try to download podcasts using wifi it starts, gets up to about 20% or so then the download stalls. If I 'stop' then 'resume' the download it'll get a couple % more, then do the same again.
It's set to download to my storage card, which has lots of free space, and there's nothing wrong with the wifi connection usually. Does anyone know how to fix this? It's made the app unusable.

Jun 18, 2010Besides the fact that IMAP idle is not working and that the "sent items" folder is not synchronized with Nokia messaging, I now have another showstopper: While the email client has an active connection, I cannot call anymore! I get - no matter which number I am dialing - a busy signal. First, I thought it would be the network. But then I disconnected the email client and the calls worked perfectly.

Mar 1, 2010I've had my 5800 for a couple of weeks now and when I got it I set up my gmail account with the built in email client under messaging. Everything was working fine. Since yesterday I have not been able to get any new emails to show up on my phone. I've deleted and re-added the mail box and old messages show up and I can view older emails but no new ones? I've checked all of my gmail settings, and I do in fact have new emails sitting there but no joy.
