May 20, 2015I have the m9 and I keep getting notifications telling me to back up a new folder I created or Google saying I have pictures to backup, ones that I have recently taken. How do I stop these? I back them up anyway so I don't need the reminders.

Mar 17, 2010I thought I found some iphone problems on here that went through a bunch of bugs, and I think I remember it saying that restoring an already jailbroken iphone form a backup is a bad idea... I've been searching all of the bug threads that were stickied... but I can't find it.The reason I ask, is because I got a new 3gs phone, already jb and unlocked on 3.1.2 with blacksn0w... so my first thought when I plugged the phone in was to restore it from a back up from my old phone... but now I notice the phone is being a little buggy. For now I want to restore it, and I need to know my options.
What I'm aiming towards is doing the sn0wbreeze jailbreak on a custom 3.1.3 ipsw, and then the blacksn0w unlock (I dont need it, but would like to have it incase I decide to resell it). But after this, I know that its always better to set it up as a new phone, but would restoring from a back up really cause problems?

Oct 30, 2011My WIFI keeps turning itself off at random times. It's very annoying since I depend on using wifi to get better battery life in situations where I don't get a good signal.
I've noticed this only on the 2.3.4 update. I'm getting a replacement X2 from Verizon on tuesday so hopefully this and the random reboots are fixed in that phone...not holding my breath though...

Since it said that personal data will not be hampered, I did not create backup of contacts, sms etc. After downloading, I got message for updating failure. Now the phone is not turning on, showing "Sony " and then exclamation mark and turning off. I have a choice to repair the phone but I'm fearing of loosing my personal data.

Jul 19, 2014I got my Nexus 5 on the 2nd of this month. I'm on Android 4.4.4. Just today, I was out and about and I realized that, although I was going into settings and turning Wi-Fi off, it just kept turning it right back on! (I had been using the Wi-Fi at the mall, then later I went to a friend's house and connected to my friend's Wi-Fi, which did not work.) So, I turned on my data, only for it to turn off after I guess about 30 seconds. I turned it back on, went on WhatsApp, in the middle of replying to a text from my friend it goes off yet again! What the... So, I went into settings and turned data on, and Wi-Fi off. As I watched, the Wi-Fi switched itself back on, and, predictably, even though there were no wireless networks to connect to, my data turned off as well.
This is really inconvenient. What could be causing the problem? I don't think I've downloaded any apps recently, but they do sometimes update. It was working fine on Thursday, but I've had my data off since then. I also booted into Safe Mode, and the problem doesn't seem to persist.

Apr 29, 2010So this might be a little long winded, but it's just what I've been through so I cant' really condense it down anymore.So a few days ago now (almost a week) I received an SMS from Nokia telling me to update my phone firmware. I then hooked my phone up to my PC, and checked for software updates. I updated OVI Suite to the latest version, rebooted and then checked again. It found the update for my phone and asked if I wished to apply it. Naturally I said yes, it then told me I should backup my phone first, and then asked if I would like to do that now, which I said yes to, and chose to backup everything. It then downloaded the update, applied it, and then asked me to restore my phone, All of which appeared to work fine.A quick look through my phone to check everything and it all appeared normal, My custom theme was there, my facebook app was there, my contacts/photos/music were there. Oh but wait, I was missing my Sudoku game. A little odd, yes, but no worries I got that from the OVI store, I'll just be able to re-download it, because that's why you make purchases from app stores instead of publishers directly.No, apparently not. This game wasn't listed in my "My Stuff" tab in the OVI application. That's ok, I'll just download it from the SMS I was sent originally.

So at a loss I decide to turn to technical support, I mean after all I have a technical issue I need support with.I e-mail technical support Basically telling them above. Then then ask for a transaction ID, which I have no record of (not sure why not?). I then provide even more information, ask them to escalate, ect. End result is, I don't get my game back. They have no record of me downloading this in the past, and for some reason it isn't available to download anymore.Frustrated, I e-mail the developer/publisher, explaining my situation. They respond promptly (within the hour), providing my with a link and SMS to download the application again, and apologise for Nokia's behaviour. Nice. I've now got my game back things are good again in my world.So with that little story in mind, I raise a few questions. Why was this application not backed up/restored with my phone backup? This seems like a pretty serious bug, especially considering that technical support won't provide download links for games or applications unless you can provide them with information provided by Nokia in the first place ( :s very round about).
My situation is pretty small in the whole scheme of things I guess. But if it can happen to me I guess it can happen to others. So why Nokia can things like this happen? What would have happened if this wasn't a small game, but rather a largish application, with data, that cost lots of money? Sure I could have gone directly to the publisher then as well, but if the purchase was made through the OVI store, what record would they have of me? This centralised store is supposed to handle all of these problems (ie, Steam or Apple App Store). Also how can bugs like this get through the alpha/beta testing of the OVI Suite backup utility? This must surely be considered a critical part of the application.Judging from my response from Nokia thus far, I'm not sure if I'm even expecting a response to this. I guess it should server as a warning to others if they think they can trust this software or even the technical support behind it to back them up in case of issues. My advise? Get a different brand phone.

Dec 1, 2012I recently got an update that required a backup. I left my phone on over night. I woke up and discovered an App Error 603. I clicked reset, then it restarted the phone. However, it takes me back to the backup your data screen at 0%. Then an application permerssion notice comes up with Allow or Deny. I try to click either one and it freezes and goes back to the App Error 603 notice.

Dec 20, 2010Having installed the update I then went into back up and restore to restore my phone settings but it hasn't worked properly. Only about 20% of my phone book is showing and it says the SIM card is not available, none of my Apps returned and a theme I paid £1.99 for hasn't loaded properly as it's only got the wallpaper and none of the modified icons.My full contact list is still on the SIM card as I checked it in my previous phone that my Dad now has so why isn't it appearing on my phone? It's extremely inconvenient not having access to it as I don't have a back up anywhere else and most of the missing numbers are the ones I use regularly.
