I have the m9 and I keep getting notifications telling me to back up a new folder I created or Google saying I have pictures to backup, ones that I have recently taken. How do I stop these? I back them up anyway so I don't need the reminders.
View 2 RepliesI have my Tour set to auto turn on/off. It shuts off fine, but when it turns back on, the radio does not turn on. The bluetooth turns on, but not the radio. I have to manually turn the radio back on everyday and it's beginning to be a PITA. TIA.
View 14 Replies View RelatedIt seems my auto brightness is randomly turning off. Sometimes when the device is powered on and I'm using it and sometimes when its off. I don't know why my phone just decides to unchecked auto brightness but its annoying especially when I'm reading something and my phone just decides to blind me at random.
I'm on AT&T if that is important information....
I've had my 8900curve a while now but I am only just connecting it to the computer and to the desktop manager. I want to sync it with my work outlook account and it works fine except it doesn't Auto Sync even though I have the option Enabled any thoughts? I can sync but I have to do it manually every time I connect the phone.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have added my laptop to HandsFree list in my phone. And as soon as I turn on bluetooth on phone, it autoconnects to HF gateway. I don't want this. Can I configure my phone or PC to not do so. I prefere to connect HF not sooner than I will connect manually from phone, I make a phone call, or I play an audio file on phone. As I noticed active HF service limits BT bandwith drastically.

I really liked the feature of turning your screen on to notify you of a new notification. It will not work properly with Lollipop.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI keep getting auto backup failed of late. i had it set to wifi only. according to one person's fix, check the data manager and uncheck the mobile hotspot. but that isn't working. still keeps failing and i think it is just working the battery. also may have caused my wifi at home to crap out, as it was just causing traffic. I even checked the box to only upload when connected to a charger, but it still attempted to upload when not.

You cannot turn down the volume of notifications without turning down the volume of your call ringtone. It's such a basic thing to do, but I can't figure it out. I decided I'd load a ringtone of Silent or None but Verizon's LGG4 does not have that option, again very poor design. While trying to load another ringtone, I went to settings, apps, sound, and hit the small + sign to load a new ringtone and was greeted with another one of those "Do you want to use this action, or that app, or whatever" and then the option "always" or "Just once" and without thinking I chose "Always" now I can't get to the media browser? I tried to clear defaults but can't find the sound app that controls this? Where is this setting?

I have been having this issue since my phone got the HTC Sense 6 update last week.
Some Google applications don't recognise when they are on WIFI to enable auto-backup / update / download features. In order to force a backup / update, I need to tell it to auto-backup using both Data Network and WIFI and then it backs up the data using WIFI.
I see the same behaviour in Play Music, only downloading data for streaming or for off-line playing if the setting is enabled for both Data Network and WIFI.
Auto update of applications hasn't worked since then, and they need to be forced manually.
I have a Lumia 1020 and love taking photos with it and I love using G+. Using G+ on the web apps on WP8 isn't too shabby but I hated getting pictures and videos to it because it'd mean I'd have to plug in my phone to my pc and upload the photos to G+ from there. Well, that is no longer the case!!
Google released the new version of Picasa today which is the Program for Mac/Windows that allows you to manage your G+ photos on the computer. One of the biggest features they added today way autouploading photos on your PC to G+. WP8 already autouploads to skydrive so I pointed the picasa autoupload folder to my skydrive folder on my PC and it works FLAWLESSLY!!
If you want to do this you just need a few things.
1. Install Picasa on your PC/MAC
2. Install Skydrive on your PC/MAC
3. Point the Picasa Autobackup folder to your Skydrive photos folder on computer
So you'll take a photo, it'll auto back up to Skydrive, which then syncs with your PC. Picasa then grabs the photos as they are downloaded to your PC and uploads them to G+!
Both my wife and I have Auto Backup turned on in the Photos app. Almost invariably, when we take a look at the pictures in the app, the latest pictures have the little badness icon (triangle with an exclamation mark instead of the cloud with a check mark) on them. There's also a nice message at the top saying Auto Backup has failed. If we hit Retry, almost invariably, the backup happens fine and those icons convert to the goodness icons. This is while we're sitting in our house with a perfectly fine WiFi signal that we can use for any other process without trouble. I remember seeing something when the phones just came out about WiFi issues.
View 13 Replies View RelatedIn December, I accidentally slammed a car door on my beloved Nexus 4 and was lucky enough to replace it with a shiny new Nexus 5. The transition to the new phone was smooth, as anticipated, and I've been enjoying my N5.
Now my boss has me selling old computer crap that no one wants on eBay and I've run into a problem. I took pictures of the items with my N5 and went to download them from the Auto Backup so I could create the listings on a desktop.
But my Google+ Auto Backup pictures stop in December, showing only pictures from my N4.
I'm running stock Android 4.4.2 and using Camera Zoom as my photo app (photos show up in the Photo app just fine). I have Auto Backup turned on and it tells me the backup is up to date. If I sign out of the Photos app, sign back in, turn Auto Backup back on and tell it to "update all", it says "uploading 96 of 97 photos". Then nothing is uploaded.
I have it set to upload on cellular data and as far as I can tell, nothing is preventing the upload, except that Auto Backup thinks nothing needs to be uploaded. It's almost like the photos are being backed up somewhere that I just can't find. I'm only using one Google account on this phone, so where they'd be besides my Google+ account.

View 24 Replies View RelatedBought the Nexus 5 I decide to start utilizing cloud storage more but I'm now facing a very irritating problem. In the Photos app when you view backed-up pics they are grouped by date. This is so frustrating since I have a bunch of albums with only one pic.
I have about forty pics people sent to me though WhatsApp and every single pic has it's own album. I have a separate folder for "family" "friends" "dance" things that make sense grouped together. I took the time to curate every pic into specific folders but auto back up jacks everything up.
I've set my phone to auto backup my photos when I'm on my wi-fi and also plugged in and charging. It says my backup has failed with a little yield logo with an exclamation point. I clicked the manual refresh circle to the right of that message and it keeps failing. If I view my photos in the Gallery almost all of them have only the device card symbol, and only a few from when the phone was new have the colored logo on the duplicate photo.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince I did the current update I'm no longer getting my Yahoo (which is my primary account) email notifications (I was before the update). If I go in to check email I have messages. My Comcast accounts works fine. Background data is enabled.
Under "email settings" I have "Data Push" selected ( I even tried it with it unselected). I have fetch schedule "every 15 minutes" checked. I did notice that when I go into "Folder Sync" All the folders say "manual". I've also tried several battery pulls. If I go and open the email apps it does download the emails.
How do I stop Whatsapp media and other folders from automatically backing up? I do not want these photos saved.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been religiously doing auto-backup on to a remote hard drive. But now I cannot seem to access any of those files at all. It keeps saying I have no administrative permission to view the files. Even when copied to my desktop, I can't use them to restore.The issue that started this all is that I switched computers. And every time I sync, the desktop program wants to add or delete about 1200 past calendar items. I have been reticent to allow the sync to continue because I did not want to lose data, but today I said, "what the hell" and let it continue. It deleted everything from BOTH the handheld and computer prior to May, when I started using the new computer. So when I try to reinstall the older backup file to retrieve the lost data, now the program won't let me access the files I saved so religiously.

Really annoying considering the messenger default is set to none so if I forget I won't know I have a message until I check my phone....

I can't get it to backup. I've set it to mobile and wifi, I've set it to wifi only, I've tried forcing the backup. Nothing. The pics have backed up just fine. But not this one video.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI got my Nexus 5 on the 2nd of this month. I'm on Android 4.4.4. Just today, I was out and about and I realized that, although I was going into settings and turning Wi-Fi off, it just kept turning it right back on! (I had been using the Wi-Fi at the mall, then later I went to a friend's house and connected to my friend's Wi-Fi, which did not work.) So, I turned on my data, only for it to turn off after I guess about 30 seconds. I turned it back on, went on WhatsApp, in the middle of replying to a text from my friend it goes off yet again! What the... So, I went into settings and turned data on, and Wi-Fi off. As I watched, the Wi-Fi switched itself back on, and, predictably, even though there were no wireless networks to connect to, my data turned off as well.
This is really inconvenient. What could be causing the problem? I don't think I've downloaded any apps recently, but they do sometimes update. It was working fine on Thursday, but I've had my data off since then. I also booted into Safe Mode, and the problem doesn't seem to persist.
Since updating to 4.55.97 on my 8GB it doesn't seem to Auto-Resume after an Auto-Pause. This worked before, but on my run today it Auto-Paused at two stop lights when I stopped, but after starting running again it wouldn't resume on its own and I had to press Start to get it going again

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had a contract with Vodafone over 2 years ago and decided on the BlackBerry Storm 9500 handset . After 6 Months of receiving the phone it developed a fault, i have returned it for repairs on a number of occasions and the reoccurring problem has never been solved & fixed . After eighteen months the phone will still not turn on and when it does work it turns off within one hour of it working, i have been to the Vodafone shop in Torquay South Devon and they supplied me with a new battery to try but it still switches itself off . I ave talked to Vodafone and i was told a fault has been found on this particular model of handset. After 24 months of having this contract phone i have now upgraded to a BlackBerry Torch . I would like to return the 9500 handset to get a free full repair or a replacement as i now need to use both phones. This phone has also had problems with freezing and locking up
