Unable to setup my iphone 3gs after i upgrade it to ios5?

I performed a software update on my phone last night and it erased my email account. When I go back to reactivate my account, it asks for my password but will not activate. How can I reactivate the email account?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy phone is telling me I must download this update to the email setup. Once it downloads and the phone reboots, it will freeze with the action bar at 100% and will not actual restart the phone. Any advice? What is my problem with this update? Because without the update, I cannot configure email on my phone.
I am on Sprint. It is a new phone, so it has nothing but the basics on it.
I was using my torch for months now and was able to set up 3 web-based email accounts initially. I encountered no problem even syncing my messages with my Playbook. This morning, i was planning to add another email account so i went to the EMAIL SETUP menu and clicked INTERNET MAIL ACCOUNT. There was a prompt asking me that there is an upgrade to the the Email Setup Application so i upgraded. After the reboot my phone when WHITE SCREEN and there was a prompt telling me APP ERROR 601 then my phone automatically reboots then the same error occurred. I was able to restore my phone and now i want to set up my email accounts and the same "upgrade" option is there. After all the hassle of restoring my phone, Im a bit hesitant to upgrade my Email Setup Application. Hence, i cannot configure my email accounts and I cannot see my messages when i Bridge my phone with my Playbook.
View 9 Replies View RelatedYestartday my phone promted me to verify my email account, which attempted to do. Did not work. Seeing that i swas not getting mails i deleted my account and attempted to re-create it but it keeps on failing. i have confirmed the details are 100% correct as before. It just does not seem to authenticate at all.
View 1 Replies View RelatedUpdated to the latest software this morning and synced etc. all was good accept there was a box in setup stuck at 55% uploading for my contacts. So after leaving it for a couple of hours etc., I just cancelled that part of the process as everything including email was working fine. Since that however I now have no email push! It is asking me to reactivate although it still sees my 2 accounts Email Accounts (2) shows in set up but when i enter it states that there are no email account activated. I try to reactivate them however only give me the box for enterprise accounts not internet based account i.e. hotmail. I try to activate and it eventually tells me that this fails. All has been working with my emails since i got the phone absolutely fine until today!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI seem to be having the same problem as others with the email setup application.
When I updated my Blackberry to the new OS6, I went to my email setup and it said "looking for updates" It finds a new update from my already installed email setup app 6.0.0 to the new 6.11.0419.0755.
When I click "download" it says replace existing version? I click "yes"
The it says: "com.rim.bis.client" contains a different version of module "net_rim_bis_client" which is also used by email setup application. If you proceed, "email setup application" may cease to function properly. proceed?
If I click "yes proceed" it crashes my blackberry and it will not reboot and I have to do a complete hard reboot, wipe the device and reload everything from my backup on blackberry desktop.
If I click "no" not to proceed, I cannot open the email setup application.
I have tried downgrading to version 5 of the OS, I have rebooted with a battery pull, crashed my blackberry twice and spent hours reloading all my applications and systems. I am at the end of my rope, and I don't know what else to do?!
If there was a way to turn off the automatic search for updates on my device under the setup and email settings, i think I would be able to set it up in the older version 6.0.0
i used to get all my hotmail emails on my phone until one day i tried to login to my hotmail on my pc and it kept saying wrong password until i got logged off. i eventually got the problem resolved and my hotmail account restored but i still havent been able to setup my hotmail email on my blackberry curve since then. i can get to it through the web browser but cant set it up automatically because it says update failed everytime i try to set it up. I tried setting it up on a friend's blackberry and it worked just fine. resolve the problem because its my primary email address and i need to be alerted as soon as my emails come in.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn June 10, I received a notification that there was a new update available to the Internet e-mail setup application. I can't access my em-mail settings without downloading the update. I downloaded the update, and, after rebooting, there was an error message saying the software couldn't be found! There was nothing on my phone besides a white screen with a long list of software file names. I couldn't go past this screen, make phone calls, text, or even power down without pulling the battery out! BB Tech Support was able to help me reinstall the operating system and restore evertyhing through the desktop software (sadly my last sync was 4 months ago so I lost all of my apps). To this day, it still prompts me to download the update when I try to access the E-mail Setup application. I don't remember what version the update was on June 10 but the version showing is 6.11.0419.0755. I need to access this application but I'm terrified to download the update.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a new-to-me device, after my original Curve 8530 had to be sent back to the carrier. I restored old settings from a backup re Desktop Manager, but now there are messaging problems. One, my setup folder doesn't have an e-mail setup option. Two, in "Email Reconciliation" option, only chloice I have is to change the e-mail account on "Message Services" drop-down. Related to that, if I'm in "messages," my Options screen lacks "Reconcile Now."
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought my first BlackBerry (Curve 3G 9300) on Friday and tried to setup a personal email account on the phone via the setup wizard earlier today. The phone said that an update to 6.11...... was needed in order to do this. I let it update, now the phone is just hanging after starting up. If I do a start up after removing the battery it comes up with a black screen with the BlackBerry logo and a progress bar below it. The progress bar moves along until the end, this takes around a minute. It then shows something like a little clock over the logo for about a second. Once this disappears the phone says with the logo and the completed progress bar - and just hangs there.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently re-activated my old Storm for my wife (her first smartphone). After reactivation, I tried to set up email so she could check her Hotmail, but the setup wizard only shows one option - enterprise email through Exchange. I know when I use to use the Storm myself, I had both Hotmail and a POP email account set up with no problems. Is this a device issue or a carrier issue? I had Bell activate the Storm on a minimal (200MB) BlackBerry data plan and the phone seems to work fine (as a phone, at least!)

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter changing network I had to re register my new sim for the blackberry service for my email. When i entered the email set up program it prompted me to update from 6.10.1119.1125 to 6.11.0324.1701. After this i rebooted the device and tried to setup my email. When I enter the email setup program it "hangs" on "checking for updates" or sometimes "checking settings" . It will not go past this screen and I am unable to set up my email. I have contacted Three Uk customer service and they have no resolve. Can you help as I cannot use the email service on my blackberry. I have also tried to setup on the website but it says I must setup on my device for the 9800 phone.

I would like to use a third party app to create a vpn that utilizes my mac mini running Lion and allows ios devices like an iphone to connect to the vpn using the native applications on the iphone ipad etc. Any thoughts? I already tried LogMeIn and it allowed remote log-in to my mac nicely actually but the tech support assures me I cannot use the app for a vpn that would allow native software use on ios devices.

I have an older Airport Extreme 802.11n, and have been quite happy with it. I just purchased an iPhone 5C, (refurbed from AT&T) and I've noticed I get poor WiFi reception on the porch. This is only about 38 feet away from the base station, although it is on the other side of the aluminum screen door. I still show two out of three bars, but web pages are very laggy compared to being in the same room as the router, and sometimes refuse to load.   My 2011 MBP doesn't have nearly as many problems.Â
I assume part of this is simply the fact that there's a much smaller antenna in my iPhone compared to a 17" MBP, but I'm wondering if I should be looking at the settings of my Airport; perhaps a better setup would work with the reception on my 5C.Â
I can't remember how or why I arrived at the settings I have now - it's been a while since I touched things. Â
Right now, under the "radio mode" drop down in the Airport Utility, (6.3.1) it's shows "802.11n only - (5Ghz) - 802.11b/g/n" with the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz channels set to "automatic".  The drop-downs are a little confusing, as I assume the Airport is still broadcasting in the 2.4GHz spectrum, as my first gen (2006, Core Duo) MacBook could still connect, and I don't believe it has a 5Ghz connection. Â

Basically I never get any notification of app updates, not do they update automatically. I have to go into app store regularly, then to updates and thereafter it shows the updates available, and shows the badge on the app store logo (ie red 3 for three new updates).
I've tried logging out of the current apple ID, powering off, on, putting apple ID back, no difference.
Tried turning off automatic updates, powering off, on, putting it back on, no difference (it's currently set in obviously).
Also difficult yo test as each time I need to wait for new updates to be issues to see if it works or not.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWe are going to be a two iPhone house setup for the first time and had a few questions:
1) Do you use the same iTunes account on both phones? Obviously if I purchase an app I would like my wife to not have to purchase it as well.
2) Do you have to use the same MobileMe account on both phones or can can you just specify a different @me.com email address?
3) Do you get any conflicts with apps showing up on both phones? For example, if I download an app on my iPhone, will is sync to my wife's iPhone if we are on the same iTunes account?
