In recent memory I've noticed that I'm losing a significant chunk of battery even with the screen off.Looking at this screenshot from GSAM battery monitor, I've barely been using my phone while it sits on my desk but the battery has dropped 25% with the wifi looking like it's been active the entire time. How should I go about figuring out which offending app is causing this?
View 3 RepliesI noticed that when my phone was sitting still the screen would randomly turn on, not just to the ambident display screen but to the lockscreen. I realized it was happening anytime the phone lost its data connection and had to reconnect. I can replicate it by turning airplane mode on then off and immediately turning the screen off with the power button. After about 5 seconds, the screen turns on again on its own. I've tried disabling ambient display, daydream, tasker, and bluetooth, but it still happens. I have unlocked the bootloader and changed the dpi but everything else is stock, no root.

How do I update the OS without losing root?
So far I've followed heisenberg's guide and have root and recovery.
I am already unlocked and rooted, but I would like to relock the bootloader assuming that I can unlock it for future updates without losing data. The Nexus 5 had a boot locker app in the App Store which allowed this, but I do not find an option for the 6 P.

Recently sometimes my Nexus has been charging extremely slowler than usual. Its so bad now that while in use and plugged into charge, its losing battery. Was 19% when I plugged it in now its 16%.
I tried rebooting to see if it was a bug showing the wrong percentage on the bar but that didn't work.
I bought the device mid December last year, direct from Google. Is this something I should seek a replacement over?
I deleted both my Facebook app and messenger, and I had much better battery life for a few days. Now however, my sot is barely at 2 1/2 hours again, and my top usage is chrome. It's pretty frustrating because I stopped using Facebook altogether, and in still having poor battery. I think chrome is not letting it doze.

I noticed that on my Moto X Pure (Style) before and also now on my Nexus 6P that whenever I charged it to 100% it won't say "Full" but instead "Charging on AC" still. On my Moto X before, the "Full" message will be displayed after 30 mins or so. However on my Nexus 6P now, it will take more than an hour for it to say "Full".

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am on my 5th charge, and Google Play services is my number one battery drainer.
I have location services, BT, on 24/7. I only connect to BT when in my car though, so 5% of the day maybe.
If I let me phone sit idle for about 4 hours, Google Play services will be the only thing that consumed battery.
So far i've tried disabling NFC, google hang outs, ambient screen. I am trying things one at a time to see what's causing it.
There are no wakelocks, because I click the graph and I show it's only awake when I am actually using it. GPS is rarely, if ever on. WIFI is never on, as I have green signal everywhere + unlimited data via tmobile. I also do not have any other always connected apps like facebook, or facebook IM, twitter, or whatsapp, etc.
Finally got around to sticking my SIM card into my 6P and decided to leave it off the charger over night to see how much battery percentage it would take away. I fell asleep with the battery at 55% and awoke with it around 30%. Looking at the battery usage, cell standby is consuming more of the battery than anything else. I've seen this bug in previous versions of Android, but have not heard anything about it with 6.0. Is my phone bad?
I'm on Verizon if that matters at all.

I've just ordered a Nexus 6P, which should come tomorrow, and was wondering about how much battery there is to be saved from using apps that mostly display white text on a black background.Since most the pixels won't be used, it seems to make sense that the screen would pull only a very small amount of power, right.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a 6 month old Galaxy S5 on Verizon, and in the past month I've had a problem where I will press the home button to turn the screen on and there will be a delay of up to 4 seconds before the screen lights up and I can unlock. Oftentimes, the delay is so long that the phone turns the screen back off from inactivity a split second after it finally comes on.
If I am actively using the phone, and then turn the screen off and right back on, there is no delay. It's only after turning back on after several minutes of inactivity (which is most of the time). It's almost as if the phone has put itself to sleep and is taking a long time to wake.I am on Android 4.4.4. If it matters, I also get the camera-daemon battery suck issue from time to time.
I have this issue and have spent the last 2 days trying to fix it to no avail. I'm wanting to start a fresh to resolve it which means wiping internal storage of music/photos etc. One question though, what's the best way of doing this to them install a fresh ROM?
