View 5 RepliesTried to copy photos from my Note 5 to Nexus 6P however, the date on the photos are off and sometimes unknown. I tried to transfer it wirelessly and through OTG cable but no luck.
What is the correct way to transfer photos without losing its date?
I don't get my Nexus 6P shown as a drive on Windows 10. I've installed the Google Drivers. Also I have the adb and fastboot driver. USB Debugging is enabled. When I switch to MTP, nothing happens. When I change to PTP my Nexus gets a mark in the device list but I can't install any driver manually. Even when I navigate to the location where the google drivers are located.

View 4 Replies View RelatedImporting photos to the Nexus 6P directly from a DSLR camera.I have a Nikon D7000, OTG Type-C USB cable and a standard USB mini cable.Everything physically connects fine, and when I power-on the Nikon, the Google Photos app starts immediately with a "Camera Importer" title bar at the top of the screen. Then within a few seconds, it crashes with a "Unfortunately Photos has stopped" message.
Should this work? It seems like it is close.
I did very briefly once see a message about "MTP" but it flashed so quickly, I couldn't see all of it. I believe that is referring to the Media Transfer Protocol.
Is their a way to update while being rooted, and keep the data. I am thinking that after I lock the phone and update it, and re root it, that my phone will be wiped completely
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had a persistent notification four months for an Android System Update (this is the January patch) that is getting on my nerves at this point.
How do I update the OS without losing root?
So far I've followed heisenberg's guide and have root and recovery.
I am already unlocked and rooted, but I would like to relock the bootloader assuming that I can unlock it for future updates without losing data. The Nexus 5 had a boot locker app in the App Store which allowed this, but I do not find an option for the 6 P.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn recent memory I've noticed that I'm losing a significant chunk of battery even with the screen off.Looking at this screenshot from GSAM battery monitor, I've barely been using my phone while it sits on my desk but the battery has dropped 25% with the wifi looking like it's been active the entire time. How should I go about figuring out which offending app is causing this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI noticed that when my phone was sitting still the screen would randomly turn on, not just to the ambident display screen but to the lockscreen. I realized it was happening anytime the phone lost its data connection and had to reconnect. I can replicate it by turning airplane mode on then off and immediately turning the screen off with the power button. After about 5 seconds, the screen turns on again on its own. I've tried disabling ambient display, daydream, tasker, and bluetooth, but it still happens. I have unlocked the bootloader and changed the dpi but everything else is stock, no root.

My computer recognizes that my phone is connected, adb recognizes my phone is attached when not in recovery. The only time my phone is not attached is when in twrp recovery, when in recovery my phone shows up in device manager with an exclamation point and the message that the drivers are not installed but adb is installed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to find a way to move my app settings, data and passwords (mainly settings and passwords...just hate having to re-enter all that mess) from my Note 3 to my new Nexus 6P. Looked at a few apps but those seem to only move contacts, pics, and stuff like that. I always backup everything on my Note 3 with Titanium backup...so am I going to have to transfer my backup from my Note 3 to my Nexus 6P to restore all that or is there a direct way to do it?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Nexus 6P and had a hard time to transfer content from old iPhone 5S to 6P. There are a lot of free tutorials and recommendations on that, but up to now, only transferred the contacts. I also need to transfer text messages, music library and ebooks. Is there an all-in-one solution out there that would transfer those content more easily? It's just difficult to do it manually.

View 10 Replies View RelatedSo just got my 6p yesterday but it seems as though ambient display although turned on is not working ND when I answer a phone call my screen stays black during the call and won't wake up.
So apparently it's because the tempered glass screen protector is covering the proximity sensor. I still have to actually test that theory out once I get a new protector but from doing some digging that most def it. Just a heads up I used the one by super shieldz so don't buy that one until they make a cut out for the sensor.
I'm on the latest build that came out today. Not sure if it's something I did, or if this is normal for when you are rooted, bootloader unlocked, etc
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy Nexus 6P will not do anything but charge when it's plugged up to my PC. I am using the systemless root and Franco kernel r7. Other than that, it's stock. What happens when I plug my phone into my PC is the battery icon changes to charging, and that's it. The PC does not recognize the phone is plugged in, and there are no unknown USB devices in device manager. I also do not get a USB notification on my phone.
More details:
- I have done the complete drive install VIA the nexus root toolkit (both initial setup before this problem, then again when the problem surfaced)
- USB debugging is enabled
- I swapped cables about 3 times, no change
- Tried different USB ports on PC and laptop and even ports directly connected to the motherboard. no change.
- Tried on my laptop (Windows 10) and it does the same thing as the PC (Windows 10).
- USB settings are set to MTP, although if I change it, it seems to get stuck on charging. I have to tap MTP about 3-5 times in order for it to say it's in MTP mode again.
- Running the command adb devices in command prompt does not show anything connected.
Other than this weird issue, I have not had any problems with my phone. I also have another USB-C cable on the way, but it seems unlikely that would be the issue.
