Huawei Nexus 6P :: Google Photos In Messenger And Hangout
Dec 28, 2015
When in either of the apps and I attempt to send a message, I'm only able to select from local storage and not my Google Photos or my Google Drive for that matter. However, when I go into the Photos app and select a picture that's stored in the cloud, I'm able to send it.
In Nexus 6 settings unter Interruptions, I have "only allow priority interruptions" set, and priority interruptions have "calls" selected, while "events and reminders" and "messages" are deselected.
Despite this, I keep getting popups from Hangouts while I'm playing games. There is no way to mute Hangouts indefinitely, either. I am ready to throw my phone through the wall.
I have Hangouts notifications completely blocked now, but that's not really what I want. I just want it to not send pop-up notifications while I'm in another app. Seems like this should be a no-brainer.
The Hangout messages on my Nexus 5 are not constantly updating. I will be in a regular conversation then nothing for maybe 30 minutes. Then, messages from the past 30 minutes all pour in at once. I thought it was a Hangouts issue but I have noticed it at times with my GMail also. I am using Straight Talk on AT&T's towers.
I'm new to android and just got a Nexus 5 and have a question about Google Messenger/Google Photos.
I'm saving all my photos on Google backup in order to preserve storage on my device. And in some apps (like Line), I am able to send pics directly from the online storage, but with Messenger it can't access any photos unless they are saved to the device (local storage).
Is there a way to get around this? Or do I have to manually "download" any photos I want to send prior to sending a mms?
I'm running Android 6.0.1. The phone was used, but it had a factory reset when I bought it, so I don't think there's anything funky going on with 3rd party apps.
Trying to figure out best way to stay on top of notifications. Not really thrilled with getting them in the notifications section for each email - I get too many of them.
My Galaxy S3 and past iphones all simply show you a notification with a number on the mail or messages app itself, telling me how many I have new or unread. I believe there is even a third party app for Gmail. But I assume it should simply be a setting to the existing apps or a active widget. But no luck.
Am I missing a setting, or is there really no actual unread message totals notification on the email and hangouts icons?
Experiencing super low microphone volume when using hangout calls on speakerphone/video calls? The other person i'm calling says they can barely hear me.
My Google's Messenger app is showing the new SMS notification but when I click to open it, it shows the SMS thread with the text, but instantly goes back to the thread list showing the last saved SMS ad being from Aug 18.This has been happening for almost a month now. Something similar happens when sending texts, I compose the text, press send and get a red status below the text saying it failed and when I go back to the thread list, the last text is again the one from Aug 18.Hangouts is working fine, but I hate it for SMS. I've disabled and renabled the Messenger app but it's still happening.
Messenger doesn't work in Facebook app and can't log in to the Facebook messenger app itself. I keep getting the error of try again something seems to be wrong.
After I send a text message in google messenger the screen scrolls up and I have to scroll down quite a bit to get to the current part of the conversation. I didn't seem to see anything in the settings.
Let say that i am downloading many photos from internet like wallpapers and stuff but that is not showing in Photos app of lollipop in nexus 5?? and after taking picture from my camera it get backed up on my gmail account, but then after when i dont get internet then my phone do not open that photo and keep showing loading circle, but when i do have internet i can see that pic again. and i dont want that kind of trouble.
I'm now getting repeated notifications on my Nexus 5 (Android 5.0.1) about how Google+ (version 4.8.0.81189390) has backed up my photos. The same photos. Over and over and over again. It didn't do this in previous versions. I don't know if this is a Nexus problem, a Lollipop problem, or a Google+ app problem. But, how I get it to stop?
This may be nothing, but I've noticed when I activate Google Now when my screen is off and ask it to save a reminder, it is no longer prompting me after "Do you want to save this?" I don't have a chance to say yes or no. When the screen is on and/or the phone is totally unlocked, it does prompt me.
"OK GOOGLE" on my N6P is just not responding well at all.
1) most of the time, whether from a lock screen or unlocked screen - OK GOOGLE just doesn't recognize. I've retrained my voice several times - no improvement
2) When it is recognized - it just opens up the search screen - and I either have to type the command or hit the microphone to speak the command... but by now - its out of sync and it just doesn't work.
3) from the lockscreen - when it is recognized - the screen doesn't unlock, but the command may process (or not)
4) frequently when OK GOOGLE is recognized - the following command isn't heard or the timing is out of sync...
OK GOOGLE has become basically useless on my N6P - and it is one of the Android features I use the most. Heck - how am I supposed to prove OK GOOGLE always trumps SIRI - when it just doesn't work? Quite embarrassing actually ...
When using 'Ok Google' the device location icon comes on in the notification bar. Is this normal? I just don't see why Google needs to know my location whenever I activate Google Now.
Talking about the location icon that appears when you use maps and navigation.
Tried to copy photos from my Note 5 to Nexus 6P however, the date on the photos are off and sometimes unknown. I tried to transfer it wirelessly and through OTG cable but no luck.
What is the correct way to transfer photos without losing its date?
Is there anyway to recover deleted photos that I lost while rooting the phone? Unfortunately, I had not activated the google photos backup at the time of root so I do not have them in the cloud.
I have near to 800 images on my cell phone which i can see though esfile explore or quickpic but when i connect it my pc with MTP connection those folders/images are not visible to me.
I have set up "OK Google" to recognize my voice from screen off.
This works great, however, when I use it, it requires me to enter my PIN/fingerprint to show the results.
Is there any way to turn this off? I have to do that every time.
And as far as security reasons, the phone won't respond to anyone else, so it's not like someone would be able to "OK Google" and unlock my phone, unless they sound exactly like me.
i was wondering what all of us are using as screen settings and why. For me srgb looks certainly more accurate but White are yelloish, they look better on Google's calibration settings but then colors are too saturated... So for now i still haven't made my choice.
Ever since activating my Nexus 6P the Google app has set itself to have safe search on and will not let me turn it off. From the Google settings page on from a browser it shows that it should be off for my account. I cannot change this for some reason.
Importing photos to the Nexus 6P directly from a DSLR camera.I have a Nikon D7000, OTG Type-C USB cable and a standard USB mini cable.Everything physically connects fine, and when I power-on the Nikon, the Google Photos app starts immediately with a "Camera Importer" title bar at the top of the screen. Then within a few seconds, it crashes with a "Unfortunately Photos has stopped" message.
Should this work? It seems like it is close.
I did very briefly once see a message about "MTP" but it flashed so quickly, I couldn't see all of it. I believe that is referring to the Media Transfer Protocol.
So I have verizon and I'm using a nexus 6p. My phone died and I charged it and booted it back up.Problem was is I forgot my password. So since I'm rooted i went into twrp and tried my password there. it worked there but not on regular boot up. So i went into wipe and wiped everything. now when i go to reboot my phone it is stuck on the google logo.
