View 6 Replies View RelatedSo, my nexus 6p screen toggles on once every minute or so while charging and i can't figure out what caused it. This is without input from the user. i'm running stock rom 6.0.1 with elementalx 1.02, rooted with double tap 2 wake enabled.
The timing which it toggles on are : 19:31 19:31 19:33 19:34 19:34

I have the setting checked but its not detecting the voice command.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have set up "OK Google" to recognize my voice from screen off.
This works great, however, when I use it, it requires me to enter my PIN/fingerprint to show the results.
Is there any way to turn this off? I have to do that every time.
And as far as security reasons, the phone won't respond to anyone else, so it's not like someone would be able to "OK Google" and unlock my phone, unless they sound exactly like me.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI came from a Nexus 5 and had to always leave my screen brightness on about 1/3 in order to preserve battery. After playing with my 6P for over a month, I feel like the battery can handle a brighter setting (with my usage). But, I have concerns about burn-in if I put the setting too high since this is an AMOLED panel. What brightness settings are you using and have you had any issues with burn-in?

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust got the Nexus 6P , after years with Samsung note series... I was wondering , is there anyway in Nexus 6P to do screen mirroring over the wifi ? without any dongle?
I tried the Cast option , but it did not recognize my Sony tv which is connected to the same WIFI network, while the Samsung note had that "screen mirroring" option built in, is there anything equivalent in the Nexus?
I notice this while trying to put it on my desk or one hand typing texts, it seems the auto rotate sensitivity is too high. Is there some way to "turn it down" so you can turn the phone more before it auto rotates? I know I can turn it off, but I use it in Chrome and YouTube and probably couple more apps.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've been running Android M preview (3?) for a while on my Nexus 6.2 months ago my USB-connector of the phone broke and only because I also have a wireless charger I can continue to use my phone.Just now I tried a headphone and noticed that viper4android wasn't working, which it did a while ago.I still had the file viper_aio_fixes.zip in my download folder I used to get it going a long time ago. [URL]..
I booted into recovery, flashed that zip and did a reboot. Now it is stuck at the black screen with only the text "Google" and a padlock.I am able to boot into fastboot where I can go in the several modes including recovery mode (Team Win Recovery Project v2.8.5.0). I don't have any possibility to connect it to my computer using an USB. The device does still have warranty, but I can't miss my phone.
I have a couple of questions about this.
1) With Ambient display enabled, the screen pops on when a notification comes through, or when I pick up the device. If Ambient display is disabled, the screen doesn't wake for either circumstance.
- The way I would like to have it, is where the screen only comes on when a notification comes through, and not when I move the phone. For me, it's a bit annoying most times. Is there a setting or another way to achieve this?
2) When Ambient display is enabled and I get the sound or vibration for a notification, it takes a few seconds (3-5) for the screen to come on.
- Is this normal? I'd prefer it to come on right after the notification sound/vibration.
I'm currently on build MDA89D, and have fingerprint/pin set for lock screen security.
Okay, so there is no screen protector or anything. Not rooted or unlocked or tampered in any way. I've had the phone for 26 hours and then the following happened:
EDIT: YouTube video added [URL] ..
I pulled the phone out of my pocket to unlock it. I see the lock screen and put in my pin (yes, I see the actual screen and stuff on it. Let me make that clear.) after I enter my pin successfully the screen locks itself. I contacted Google support and they said to factory reset it. I did the full factory data reset in the recovery mode (again, the screen works. I can see everything to do a FDR and I can see the boot animation) and it starts to boot up. Once I see the "welcome" screen it instantly locks itself.
I can hear the audible "latch" locking sound that it makes when you press the power button. I know the buttons are not malfunctioning because they work perfectly fine in bootloader / recovery mode to scroll up and down and select things. I've tried multiple things but nothing seems to work. The problem here is that I want to try and do a factory image but my computer will NOT recognize my Nexus 6P when in recovery mode / bootloader mode. I have all the drivers installed but since I can't access the OS and enable OEM UNLOCKING there is no way to factory flash a factory image is there? Again, I can NOT access the OS at all whatsoever.
There is no toggle to enable cast on the stock rom, but on the custom roms there is. I want to remain on stock but I also want the screen casting to television to work. How to enable it in the stock rom?
View 3 Replies View RelatedLast night I was getting annoyed by some screen flickering in Chrome. I was trying to pinpoint the issue, but it is not that easy. For now it only happens in chrome under these conditions:
Landscape orientation
Using Swiftkey flow input
Chrome tries to fill in something you already searched for
Sometimes I have to delete and restart typing in the keywords in order for the issue to appear.
It kinda happens when the omni-box gets auto-filled when trying to flow type on the swiftkey keyboard, the right portion of the screen will start to flicker like it is some sort of VRAM corruption.
This doesn't happen with stock google keyboard. Is it possible that hardware is still ok, can an app under certain circumstances do that? I only received my 6p a week ago.
So I have verizon and I'm using a nexus 6p. My phone died and I charged it and booted it back up.Problem was is I forgot my password. So since I'm rooted i went into twrp and tried my password there. it worked there but not on regular boot up. So i went into wipe and wiped everything. now when i go to reboot my phone it is stuck on the google logo.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI know this is not possible on the N6 and curious if you can on the 6P.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIf I make a call as soon as I press to dial the screen goes black and I can't reactivate it unless the person in the other end hangs up, so if it goes to voice mail I have to restart my device, if the person hangs up I have to double tap the power button to wake it up but that activates the camera, that's the only way I'm able to do it.
Fully stock and up to date firmware
Do your Nexus 6P screen go black during a call. Mine does on every call. My display settings is set for 1-minute. I call Huawei support. The lady says that the screen is suppose to go and stay off during a call. Never heard of that from a phone. You cannot respond or do anything during the call.

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust got a brand new Nexus 6P yesterday, camera was working fine. Woke up this morning and the camera produces a black screen. Cleared camera data, cache, updated, tried third party apps, then performed a factory reset. All to no avail.

View 6 Replies View RelatedDamnit. Something went wrong and I don't know how to get out of it.
I used Nexus Root Toolkit 2.0.7. Bootloader Unlock went just fine. Root went wrong (I think). It just sits there at the white Google logo. It never goes to the animated loading portion of boot up.
So, I stopped the process. Then went to select Flash Stock + Unroot to hopefully start over. It still stays at the white Google logo. Instructions say it could take up to 20 minutes, but I waited for about 30 and nothing happened.
So I entered Recovery. Formatted/Cleared all data and started fresh with the unlocked boot loader. I was able to flash TWRP and actually flash a custom ROM. It loaded, but the phone boot looped when I tried to flash a custom Kernel.
Fine. I went to restore a backup I made before flashing the Kernel and it boot looped. Restoring the backup did nothing and I couldn't load anything.
Loaded up Nexus Root Toolkit again, tried to root and it just stays on the white Google logo. Tried Flash Stock + Unroot and it still sits at the Google logo.
WTF. I've been doing this for a long ass time now.
So I just got my phone and am having an issue. When on call pulling the phone away from my face doesn't turn screen on. That might be my glass screen protector. But hitting the power button doesn't wake it either and volume during call doesn't work. I can't hang up or anything until the call disconnects.

They track with the text as I scroll up and down. I also notice them on white background/black text, but it is harder to see.Is this normal from Chrome/AMOLED screens or is there a hardware issue with my phone?
