I came from a Nexus 5 and had to always leave my screen brightness on about 1/3 in order to preserve battery. After playing with my 6P for over a month, I feel like the battery can handle a brighter setting (with my usage). But, I have concerns about burn-in if I put the setting too high since this is an AMOLED panel. What brightness settings are you using and have you had any issues with burn-in?
Been reading about how it may cause more battery drain. I've been using it myself but if I switch, I feel like I'd have to run a higher than normal brightness to accommodate for when I go outside. So thinking it may not even be beneficial then.
Been using Lightflow to change the LED indicator colors but cant find the brightness. The phone has like 10 detected LED lights according to the app but all of them are set to off and i still see the LED but the brightness is nowhere near what my S4 was.
Having issues with video recording and the brightness fluctuating while recording? While I'm recording a video, it's like the iso rapidly changes making the video go bright then dim very rapidly.
I was running a website online that says if you have adaptive brightness turned on to non set your brightness turned into minimal level because it'll make the screen go blank and dark pretty much. For all the people on the forum that have adapter brightness turned on, what is your brightness level setting at? Mines at about at say 35 percent or as it lines up with the Wi-Fi symbol on the quick toggle settings menu.
Don't know if this was posted before, but I've found out that the screen sensitivity issue is related to screen brightness settings. If I switch auto brightness off and set it to medium, then the issue disappears. However, if I set it to high I can reproduce the issue immediately. Touch sensitivity in settings is set to normal.
i like the screen display nice and bright so when i go into - settings - display - brightness - menu i untick the automatic brightness box and move the slider almost all the way to the right and press ok to exit - leaving the automatic brightness box unticked .but the next time i go to use my phone either to text or make or receive a call somehow the automatic brightness box has a tick in it and the screen goes into the automatic brightness settings by going dim again .whatever i do and however many times i untick the automatic brightness box it still manages to tick itself the next time i use the phone?
What is everyone else running for custom RGB settings on custom kernels to fix the color inaccuracy? I'm running the following which when compared to my IPS computer monitor, is pretty similar:
I've had the phone for a few days now, its been working great except for the fact that when i turn heads up notification off for pretty much any app the change doesn't survive a reboot. I am on stock MDB08B with root.
I can't seem to get tasker to perform any tasks through Secure Settings. Can't get it to toggle air plane mode, change any of the location settings to off, battery saver, high accuracy, etc.
Am I missing something? The 6P is rooted and I know these tasks works because I imported them over from my last phone.
I'm looking to find a way to move my app settings, data and passwords (mainly settings and passwords...just hate having to re-enter all that mess) from my Note 3 to my new Nexus 6P. Looked at a few apps but those seem to only move contacts, pics, and stuff like that. I always backup everything on my Note 3 with Titanium backup...so am I going to have to transfer my backup from my Note 3 to my Nexus 6P to restore all that or is there a direct way to do it?
So long story short, I restored a backup after wiping my device, and I forgot to take the pattern lock off before backing up. No pattern I entered worked. I tried a bunch of things, and eventually I found a flashable zip that let me in, but now if I try to switch the lockscreen type from Swipe it crashes as soon as I press the button to load the different lockscreen types. Also, it crashes when I try to look at fingerprints.
I made a dumb mistake that I'd like to correct. I've tried flashing the factory image (without wipe) and tried flashing stock gapps. I'm thinking maybe there is a flashable lockscreen zip, but I haven't found anything. Is it possible to extract the lockscreen from a working 6P so I can flash it?
I like to flash different ROMs, sometimes 3 or 4 per week, sometimes 3-4 per day ... I usually come back to a "daily driver" (currently Chroma) after trying new ROMs - but I always have a Nandroid of my daily driver I can return to.
I know that downloading apps and setting them up is the nature of the beast when flashing new ROMs, but is there a quicker way to restore all your apps and settings? I have Titanium Backup (pro) installed and have backed up all my apps I have customized settings for, the rest are just left as default. I also have TWRP manager (pro), but it asks you to individually install each app and is almost quicker to just let Google choose which ones to download and restore all the apps upon setup. I've never used TIBU to restore more than my backed up app settings, does it ask you to install each app as it goes through them too? Is Titanium the quickest way or is there another way?
I'm running stock 5.1.1, and even though my auto brightness is off my phone occasionally dims my display when it's on full brightness. It's not running particularly hot (37 degrees C according to my battery widget) so I don't know what's causing it to dim.
I wanted to start using android pay so I decided to flash back to a stock rom instead of aosp rom. I flashed my Nexus 6 to 6.0.1, everything went fine and I set my phone back up the way I wanted. Shortly after that I would turn my phone to see my lockscreen and my screen brightness would go to full brightness until I unlocked my phone then it would bring the brightness down to a normal level for light the phone was receiving. Then it would do this no matter if I would in a dark room, in direct sunlight or in a room with average lit lights.
I am on Tmobile so I thought maybe it was the firmware, even though it shouldn't matter. So I flashed back to LYZ28N and I let the phone upgrade to MRA58X and had the same issue.
I have my brightness slider just over the Wifi icon on the toggles in the notification shade. I do have auto brightness turned on . Ambient screen is off.
Now I see that MRA58X is available as a download I will try to flash straight to that.
My screen is always at max brightness but sometimes, like once or twice a week, i see it "bounce" slightly to a "just a bit" brighter level. it happens only once, so it's not "flickering" but given it's set at max brightness i wonder why this is happening?
auto screen brightness when I am outside and receive a call is so bad that I cannot see who is calling me . So I use max brightness when outside . Is there anyway way to change/adjust the auto screen brightness
Does your Nexus 6P have an option to enable video stabilization on camera setting? My friend has the option on his Nexus 6p but mine hasn't. We got exactly same model.
I've literally tried everything that XDA, reddit, and other miscellaneous sites have told me to do and all of them have the same 3-4 ways to get this to work and none do.
Resetting wifi, airplane mode, rebooting, resetting network settings, restored a backup, reflashed a ROM, and went back to stock.. nothing. I also tried go into Netgear dashboard WiFi Settings and change the auto channel but that method doesn't seem to be an option for me, it's either "Auto" or number 1 through 10. Or 5G is auto and numbers in the 100s.
All other devices connect to my wifi no problem, and my Nexus 6P was just fine up until about 2hours ago.
Just curious who is using auto brightness? I'm trying to determine if better (ie. significantly) for battery life to use the auto brightness feature turned on, or if better to leave it on say 50% brightness at all times. The auto brightness is a bit annoying more distracting But I'd be willing to live with it if proven to be a ton better on battery life.My battery was sucking down real fast, and has brightly about 2/3rd full so I turned on auto brightness but found out the IM ("Hi AIM" app)i had running in the brackground was what was causing the major battery drain.Any one run actual tests on auto-brightness vs manual brightness?
Having a problem where Whatsapp messages still vibrate even though I've switched it off in the apps settings?
Also is there a way to switch all of vibration for notifications off on the phone? On the M9 I could put the phone on silent and choose whether or not I want it to vibrate with notifications or not but on the 6P it seems if I have the volume silent it still vibrates.
just got my nexus 6 today and I've noticed that when lowering my brightness really low the screen starts becoming pink. Is there a fix to this. Some say it is a feature but I've never really seen this on other phones and personally the pink hue is bothering me quite a bit.
I run a very small business and I'm occasionally on-site at my customers office most of the time. So whenever i'm out, i divert my office number to my Nexus 6P.
So the issue is that it's quite difficult for me to distinguish between a personal call or if it's a diverted call from my office to my Nexus 6P. Previously on Nokia or certain Samsung phones, there was an 'indicator icon' showing that it was a diverted/forwarded call. This worked for me tremendously.
It's definitely a phone feature and *not* a carrier issue. Have downloaded 3 apps (2 free and 1 paid) from the Play store, but they all do not seem to work. Am on "Pure Nexus" ROM.
I purchased Huawei Nexus 6P phone 1 week before and i want to print screen like samsung note-II phone but i am not able. I have to send print screen for my web hosting site.
So, my nexus 6p screen toggles on once every minute or so while charging and i can't figure out what caused it. This is without input from the user. i'm running stock rom 6.0.1 with elementalx 1.02, rooted with double tap 2 wake enabled.
The timing which it toggles on are : 19:31 19:31 19:33 19:34 19:34
I have set up "OK Google" to recognize my voice from screen off.
This works great, however, when I use it, it requires me to enter my PIN/fingerprint to show the results.
Is there any way to turn this off? I have to do that every time.
And as far as security reasons, the phone won't respond to anyone else, so it's not like someone would be able to "OK Google" and unlock my phone, unless they sound exactly like me.
