I can't seem to get tasker to perform any tasks through Secure Settings. Can't get it to toggle air plane mode, change any of the location settings to off, battery saver, high accuracy, etc.
Am I missing something? The 6P is rooted and I know these tasks works because I imported them over from my last phone.
Any way to pass specific fingerprint events into a tasker profile? For example a variable that can be read as representing finger 1 or 2?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using Tasker for quite some time to handle tweaking audio settings for sleep, work, etc. I have it set to mute all notifications except phone calls and alarms at night. I put my phone on the headboard at night so I have it handy in case of that dreaded late night phone call.However, it still vibrates. When I get a text message or email, it vibrates enough to wake me if I am sleeping light (early in the night, or almost time to get up). It's rather annoying.
I have messed around with Tasker settings, and Vibrate On Notify is not an option for this device for some reason. I have even downloaded a few "turn vibration off" apps, and none of them seem to do what they are supposed to do either.Even if I have to manually adjust some settings before bedtime, I'm ok with that.
I'm finding my GPS settings have a significant impact on my battery life, with High Accuracy draining it too aggressively and Battery Saver Mode not working for navigation or my running app (RunKeeper). Can Tasker be set up to change my GPS settings to High Accuracy when I launch either one of those two apps, then back to Battery Saver when I close them without having rooted my phone?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to find a way to move my app settings, data and passwords (mainly settings and passwords...just hate having to re-enter all that mess) from my Note 3 to my new Nexus 6P. Looked at a few apps but those seem to only move contacts, pics, and stuff like that. I always backup everything on my Note 3 with Titanium backup...so am I going to have to transfer my backup from my Note 3 to my Nexus 6P to restore all that or is there a direct way to do it?

After playing with my 6P for over a month, I feel like the battery can handle a brighter setting (with my usage). But, I have concerns about burn-in if I put the setting too high since this is an AMOLED panel. What brightness settings are you using and have you had any issues with burn-in?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo long story short, I restored a backup after wiping my device, and I forgot to take the pattern lock off before backing up. No pattern I entered worked. I tried a bunch of things, and eventually I found a flashable zip that let me in, but now if I try to switch the lockscreen type from Swipe it crashes as soon as I press the button to load the different lockscreen types. Also, it crashes when I try to look at fingerprints.
I made a dumb mistake that I'd like to correct. I've tried flashing the factory image (without wipe) and tried flashing stock gapps. I'm thinking maybe there is a flashable lockscreen zip, but I haven't found anything. Is it possible to extract the lockscreen from a working 6P so I can flash it?
I like to flash different ROMs, sometimes 3 or 4 per week, sometimes 3-4 per day ... I usually come back to a "daily driver" (currently Chroma) after trying new ROMs - but I always have a Nandroid of my daily driver I can return to.
I know that downloading apps and setting them up is the nature of the beast when flashing new ROMs, but is there a quicker way to restore all your apps and settings? I have Titanium Backup (pro) installed and have backed up all my apps I have customized settings for, the rest are just left as default. I also have TWRP manager (pro), but it asks you to individually install each app and is almost quicker to just let Google choose which ones to download and restore all the apps upon setup. I've never used TIBU to restore more than my backed up app settings, does it ask you to install each app as it goes through them too? Is Titanium the quickest way or is there another way?
Does your Nexus 6P have an option to enable video stabilization on camera setting? My friend has the option on his Nexus 6p but mine hasn't. We got exactly same model.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've literally tried everything that XDA, reddit, and other miscellaneous sites have told me to do and all of them have the same 3-4 ways to get this to work and none do.
Resetting wifi, airplane mode, rebooting, resetting network settings, restored a backup, reflashed a ROM, and went back to stock.. nothing. I also tried go into Netgear dashboard WiFi Settings and change the auto channel but that method doesn't seem to be an option for me, it's either "Auto" or number 1 through 10. Or 5G is auto and numbers in the 100s.
All other devices connect to my wifi no problem, and my Nexus 6P was just fine up until about 2hours ago.
Having a problem where Whatsapp messages still vibrate even though I've switched it off in the apps settings?
Also is there a way to switch all of vibration for notifications off on the phone? On the M9 I could put the phone on silent and choose whether or not I want it to vibrate with notifications or not but on the 6P it seems if I have the volume silent it still vibrates.
Tasker or any other program to automatically turn the media volume to max? This is convenient as I want the volume maxed out when I connect to my cars bluetooth (otherwise I really have to crank up the stereo volume), but I don't want media volume on max when not connected. In the past I have used one of two apps (Tasker or Bluetooth Connect & Play). Both of these apps are having issues adjusting the media volume when they worked perfectly on my pre kitkat phones. Sometimes it works correctly and maxes out the volume, other times it doesn't change it at all.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI run a very small business and I'm occasionally on-site at my customers office most of the time. So whenever i'm out, i divert my office number to my Nexus 6P.
So the issue is that it's quite difficult for me to distinguish between a personal call or if it's a diverted call from my office to my Nexus 6P. Previously on Nokia or certain Samsung phones, there was an 'indicator icon' showing that it was a diverted/forwarded call. This worked for me tremendously.
It's definitely a phone feature and *not* a carrier issue. Have downloaded 3 apps (2 free and 1 paid) from the Play store, but they all do not seem to work. Am on "Pure Nexus" ROM.
I was recently messing with the different lock screen security options possible however I noticed that I can no longer go back to "Swipe" to unlock. Why this is? That and "none" are grayed out in the settings (see screen shot). how to get myself back to swipe to unlock?
View 24 Replies View RelatedSo when I just got the phone I set up the Peel remote app and had it working great. After I got all my other apps setup the way I usually do, I found my IR blaster no longer worked no matter which remote app I tired, not even the Peel app which worked at first.
By using another camera, I realized the IR led was not even firing when a remote button was pressed although the notification led would flash the usual blue. After awhile I finally figured out it was tasker causing this. With tasker disabled, the IR blaster worked just like it should but the instant I enabled tasker it would stop working.
I value tasker more than the IR blaster but it would be very ideal if both worked...

Draft a txt and then send to multiple recipients without each recipient being able to see the other? Basically the same thing as sending an email to multiple people via BCC option.
Would be handy for business purposes. I don't care if they see my contact. I just don't want them to see eachothers contact since not everyone I'd send to would know the other (and/or want their contact information shared).
Obviously I could copy and paste the same message to multiple people via individual txt msgs... but being able to send a group txt would be way more efficient.
I got my Nexus 6P in australia yesterday and I was playing around with the settings. One of the things I wanted to enable was Now on Tap but everytime I try and enable it (either through holding the home button, or doing it through Settings), it won't enable! When I click Get Started, nothing happens. If i'm in the settings app, the toggle just turns off after I press Get Started.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am rooted on stock 6.0.1 with ElementalX kernel. I have Xposed installed, but I've tried disabling all modules. I've tried deleting the stock clock data and cache. There are no alarms set or off. I've checked the alarms.db file and there are no entries.
How do I get rid of the icon and lock screen info? I only have the Google Clock installed.
The only Google result says to do a battery pull on a different device. Can't really pull the battery on this phone, though.
I tried to install Cataclysm ROM, and then it went into some sort of installer, after that I tried to reboot, but TWRP said it didn't have any OS?? So i tried to boot it up anyway? but nothing, just stuck on Google Logo. After that I tried to boot into TRWP agian. But then TWRP says "Mount Decrypt Data" and then i have to enter a password?? but i removed my pattern lock before flashing.
Because i made a Nandroid and i read i had to remove the password before making a backup. But then i just press cancel. Then it says " Unmodified System Partition" "Swipe to Allow Modifications" and i do that. Now i have nothing on my SD card?? Then i thought i could flash stock through Fastboot/ADB, but now it won't see my device in ADB? I have updated my drivers, both by Google and Intel But nothing? so i cant return to stock and can't boot up.
Some how i got i to reboot by an ADB command and then i could flash factory image and return to stock.
I've noticed something since I got my phone and that is that certain notifications (Snapchat and Messenger are the main 2 for at the moment) will not make a sound unless my phone is either: Unlocked or locked with the screen turned on. Sometimes I won't get even get the notification until I actually unlock my phone which then all the notifications (sometimes 10+ messages in a facebook group) will pop up and vibrate my phone multiple times.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've been on the Pure Nexus rom for a while now and I wanted to try out the Screw'd Rom. So I downloaded and installed said rom. When It boots up and goes to the setup wizard I get no network data what so ever. I looked through the thread and it said to also flash the update vendor.zip. I did that hoping it would bring back my data but it didn't. So I decided to go back to the Pure Nexus rom, clean install, and again I have no network data. What I could do to get it back? I've tried messing with the APN settings but no dice. I should have made a back up before switching roms but unfortunately I forgot to do so.
