I'm finding my GPS settings have a significant impact on my battery life, with High Accuracy draining it too aggressively and Battery Saver Mode not working for navigation or my running app (RunKeeper). Can Tasker be set up to change my GPS settings to High Accuracy when I launch either one of those two apps, then back to Battery Saver when I close them without having rooted my phone?
View 3 RepliesI have been using Tasker for quite some time to handle tweaking audio settings for sleep, work, etc. I have it set to mute all notifications except phone calls and alarms at night. I put my phone on the headboard at night so I have it handy in case of that dreaded late night phone call.However, it still vibrates. When I get a text message or email, it vibrates enough to wake me if I am sleeping light (early in the night, or almost time to get up). It's rather annoying.
I have messed around with Tasker settings, and Vibrate On Notify is not an option for this device for some reason. I have even downloaded a few "turn vibration off" apps, and none of them seem to do what they are supposed to do either.Even if I have to manually adjust some settings before bedtime, I'm ok with that.
I can't seem to get tasker to perform any tasks through Secure Settings. Can't get it to toggle air plane mode, change any of the location settings to off, battery saver, high accuracy, etc.
Am I missing something? The 6P is rooted and I know these tasks works because I imported them over from my last phone.
My name is ivan and i have a galaxy s2 from canada. im gonna be completley honest here. After rooting my phone, the settings icon was gone. i didnt care for awhile but after i few days, i recently came across lag and was forced to unroot and reset my phone. thinking that would do the job and bring my settings back, sadly it didnt. I factory reseted my phone but the settings icon was still not there.

Now I flashed back to my native Globe 5.1.1. Problem is the CSC is Thailand and not Globe. How do I change the CSC without root? Tried going to Recovery mode doing full cache wipe and full reset but still it sets the Thailand CSC.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm having issues with DPI change, I used ADB to change the DPI using a simple adb shell wm density 460 && adb reboot, all good, only issue is a few things are.. weird.. For instance the "top apps" icon, little blue thinggy in the playstore is awkwardly big, it's larger then the font, but I didn't use the phone stock so I don't know if that's just how marshmallow is or if that's a dpi problem. I also noticed when loading The Sims FreePlay, the EA boot logo it extremely over scanned, the letters EA barely fit on the screen, the eBay app, the user display picture is cut off and only shows the bottom right corner on an icon that's huge and again over sized, as well as snapchat sending all of my snaps with extremely small font, yet on my screen before sending they look just fine.
So after looking into this further, the build.prop was never changed, it still says dpi 560, but I know for system files I need to mount /system in order to write to it without root. So I booted to recovery as that allows me write access to system, mounted system, says mounted /system at the bottom of the log, open adb, run adb devices, nothing comes up, it's not found, reboot phone, run adb devices, works fine. What's the deal? I can't get the 6p to work from recovery when mounting /system, it says it's mounted but on the computer end nothing is happening.
I also want to keep this phone as stock as possible, kind of a purist douche bag like that so I don't want to run TWRP, or at least I'm not committed to this DPI change being this important that I want a custom recovery.why I can't mount /system in the stock recovery? or rather, why I can mount it but why it's not working?

So when I just got the phone I set up the Peel remote app and had it working great. After I got all my other apps setup the way I usually do, I found my IR blaster no longer worked no matter which remote app I tired, not even the Peel app which worked at first.
By using another camera, I realized the IR led was not even firing when a remote button was pressed although the notification led would flash the usual blue. After awhile I finally figured out it was tasker causing this. With tasker disabled, the IR blaster worked just like it should but the instant I enabled tasker it would stop working.
I value tasker more than the IR blaster but it would be very ideal if both worked...

This is convenient as I want the volume maxed out when I connect to my cars bluetooth (otherwise I really have to crank up the stereo volume), but I don't want media volume on max when not connected. In the past I have used one of two apps (Tasker or Bluetooth Connect & Play). Both of these apps are having issues adjusting the media volume when they worked perfectly on my pre kitkat phones. Sometimes it works correctly and maxes out the volume, other times it doesn't change it at all.
