I've had the phone for a few days now, its been working great except for the fact that when i turn heads up notification off for pretty much any app the change doesn't survive a reboot. I am on stock MDB08B with root.

View 8 Replies View RelatedAfter disabling "Show Notification" for apps on SD card, reboot the phone, this setting will become re-enabled. It seems the setting does not stick for apps on SD.
I've tested these steps but no luck:
- disable it, move it to SD, reboot.
- disable it, reboot, move it to SD, reboot.
- move it to SD, disable it, reboot.
Not sure if this is a bug or limitation of Lollipop. I'm using 5.0.2 on D6653 (build # 23.2.A.1.62).
You change it in developer settings, to give the screen a more lcd look. I really like it, but turns off after reboot. Is it bad for the screen?

Using Elemental-X 1.02 Kernel and tried with Chroma, Noobuilds and PureNexus.
Yes.. At time my nexus simply loses its notification sounds. Media sounds still works just the notifying sound disappears. And after a reboot it works fine.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've enabled System UI Tuner. But still can't customize the bar. At quick settings. I can see the hotspot button but it won't let me turn it on or anything. I can't see it in my notification bar.Its definitely not hidden in the status bar. So unsure what the problem is.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAll I want is "peeking" and the lockscreen notifications to work! Isn't this part of Marshmallow? Notifications to be not working/ inconsistent? What I am looking for is to have the screen turn on with every notification...this phone is either sitting on my desk or in a car holder most of the time, so I want to see the notifications without having to handle the phone. I've tried some 3rd party heads-up notification apps that work pretty good, but I am having issues with the lock screen (sometimes I have to enter and pin AND use the fingerprint scanner, which is a bit much to just access the phone).
1. I seldom get peeking notifications even though "peeking" is selected. With some apps, peeking works sometimes and not others. I have never seen a Peek notification for gmail.
2. I find the notifications seldom turn the screen on, even though I have the ambient screen turned on. Perhaps this has something to do with problem 1.
I've had my 6p for a while and running cataclysm since day 1 so I don't remember about this. But, does the LED light stay lit when charging on a stock 6p? My brother just got his in today and it's dark so I'm just curious if it's an issue or that's just how it is stock. If it's normal I'm gonna have him use lightflow to activate so that's not a problem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOn my old Note 3 it had a separate volume for the phone ringer and a separate volume for the notification tones, like my text messages. I have noticed on my Nexus 6P that it seems the ringer and notification volume controls are the same. I use to turn my text message volume almost completely off at night and leave my phone ringer turned up some. But I have not been able to do that on the Nexus 6P. Am I missing something or are these two volumes on the same control? I am rooted and running Pure Nexus. I need separate volumes controls for them.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to get tasker to perform any tasks through Secure Settings. Can't get it to toggle air plane mode, change any of the location settings to off, battery saver, high accuracy, etc.
Am I missing something? The 6P is rooted and I know these tasks works because I imported them over from my last phone.
I'm looking to find a way to move my app settings, data and passwords (mainly settings and passwords...just hate having to re-enter all that mess) from my Note 3 to my new Nexus 6P. Looked at a few apps but those seem to only move contacts, pics, and stuff like that. I always backup everything on my Note 3 with Titanium backup...so am I going to have to transfer my backup from my Note 3 to my Nexus 6P to restore all that or is there a direct way to do it?

After playing with my 6P for over a month, I feel like the battery can handle a brighter setting (with my usage). But, I have concerns about burn-in if I put the setting too high since this is an AMOLED panel. What brightness settings are you using and have you had any issues with burn-in?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo long story short, I restored a backup after wiping my device, and I forgot to take the pattern lock off before backing up. No pattern I entered worked. I tried a bunch of things, and eventually I found a flashable zip that let me in, but now if I try to switch the lockscreen type from Swipe it crashes as soon as I press the button to load the different lockscreen types. Also, it crashes when I try to look at fingerprints.
I made a dumb mistake that I'd like to correct. I've tried flashing the factory image (without wipe) and tried flashing stock gapps. I'm thinking maybe there is a flashable lockscreen zip, but I haven't found anything. Is it possible to extract the lockscreen from a working 6P so I can flash it?
So I took the first couple pics with the camera and now I've had a persistent notification (been there overnight at this point) that says "processed 2 of 8 items". Has a progress bar on it and (at this point) yesterdays date.

Now that I've moved on to the 6P, is there a similar app or method to control these notifications?
I do not plan on rooting right away. Mainly because I want to be able to use OTA updates to the stock ROM. A way to mute consecutive notifications from hangouts messages would be amazing.
When i have bluetooth enabled, media plays through my bluetooth headset only but notifications like texts still play through phone speakers AND the bluetooth headset at the same time.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI like to flash different ROMs, sometimes 3 or 4 per week, sometimes 3-4 per day ... I usually come back to a "daily driver" (currently Chroma) after trying new ROMs - but I always have a Nandroid of my daily driver I can return to.
I know that downloading apps and setting them up is the nature of the beast when flashing new ROMs, but is there a quicker way to restore all your apps and settings? I have Titanium Backup (pro) installed and have backed up all my apps I have customized settings for, the rest are just left as default. I also have TWRP manager (pro), but it asks you to individually install each app and is almost quicker to just let Google choose which ones to download and restore all the apps upon setup. I've never used TIBU to restore more than my backed up app settings, does it ask you to install each app as it goes through them too? Is Titanium the quickest way or is there another way?
I am trying to customize the notification LED per app. I've tried 3 tools to achieve this but I am not having success. Both GravityBox and XBlast tools would let me change the colour, but it would never work. All my notifications were still white. Even when I "previewed" the notification light, it would still be white. I also tried light flow, but only a couple of notification lights would show (those were some of the predefined settings). Are there specific hex values I have to use to get it to work? I really want to get this to work ....

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've literally tried everything that XDA, reddit, and other miscellaneous sites have told me to do and all of them have the same 3-4 ways to get this to work and none do.
Resetting wifi, airplane mode, rebooting, resetting network settings, restored a backup, reflashed a ROM, and went back to stock.. nothing. I also tried go into Netgear dashboard WiFi Settings and change the auto channel but that method doesn't seem to be an option for me, it's either "Auto" or number 1 through 10. Or 5G is auto and numbers in the 100s.
All other devices connect to my wifi no problem, and my Nexus 6P was just fine up until about 2hours ago.
Mine blinks once when messages etc com in but that's it,no continuous blinkjng until I read text etc,can this be altered,also I think I read there are APS to set different colours or patterns for notifications ,is this correct ?
