View 1 RepliesI came from a Nexus 5 and had to always leave my screen brightness on about 1/3 in order to preserve battery. After playing with my 6P for over a month, I feel like the battery can handle a brighter setting (with my usage). But, I have concerns about burn-in if I put the setting too high since this is an AMOLED panel. What brightness settings are you using and have you had any issues with burn-in?

View 1 Replies View RelatedDon't know if this was posted before, but I've found out that the screen sensitivity issue is related to screen brightness settings. If I switch auto brightness off and set it to medium, then the issue disappears. However, if I set it to high I can reproduce the issue immediately.
Touch sensitivity in settings is set to normal.
i like the screen display nice and bright so when i go into - settings - display - brightness - menu i untick the automatic brightness box and move the slider almost all the way to the right and press ok to exit - leaving the automatic brightness box unticked .but the next time i go to use my phone either to text or make or receive a call somehow the automatic brightness box has a tick in it and the screen goes into the automatic brightness settings by going dim again .whatever i do and however many times i untick the automatic brightness box it still manages to tick itself the next time i use the phone?
View 6 Replies View RelatedOk I've noticed and I have my auto brightness checked off and my brightness level at 70 percent.. Why is it that I notice on home screen and while using apps that my back light dims just a tad every so often.. Its like the screen dims about 10-15 percent quite often.. The first phone I exchanged for another one and this one does the same thing. Only thing I did n changed on the phone is that it's running Art.
View 22 Replies View RelatedI was running a website online that says if you have adaptive brightness turned on to non set your brightness turned into minimal level because it'll make the screen go blank and dark pretty much. For all the people on the forum that have adapter brightness turned on, what is your brightness level setting at? Mines at about at say 35 percent or as it lines up with the Wi-Fi symbol on the quick toggle settings menu.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there any way/app to adjust the Auto Brightness on the Droid X? The brightness that the phone picks is way too bright, so I normally turn it down/off. But when I am in direct sunlight I can not see the screen well enough to find the brightness settings to adjust them so I can use the phone.
I currently use the Android Power Control Widget to change my Brightness settings. It does a good job for me, except in the above mentioned issue. I have looked in the Android Market Place, but most applications just talk about predefined brightness settings. I found one called Custom Auto Brightness, but it does not seem to work on the Droid X.
How can we get shortcuts to settings on the homescreen - network, sounds, brightness? 5.1 did away with them. Why? Some clever developer thinks people don't want them? Or don't use them?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Xperia Active is barely 3 weeks old, running Android version: 2.3.4 and latest build: 4.0.2.A.0.62. My screen brightness is kept at maximum, I have never dropped this phone or abused it and rest of it's functions are running fine. Barely a week in, it seemed to have a faintly flickering screen which I thought might have just been my eyes going. This week, the flickering has been replaced by what I would describe as "breathing" - screen brightness goes from max brightness (100%) to gradual dimness (about 78% brightness) to max brightness again - without me touching anything nor am I running out of power. This happens once in a while throught the day, not constantly. Rather alarming as I am getting very attached to this little phone.
I have been checking the SE forums since the 1st week of ownership, the flickering screen problem has been reported occuring to other SE phone models, including the Mini on which the Active has been based. I have wiped all data from my phone and gave it back to the seller for their tech to figure out. My last option if unrepairable, is to ask the seller to replace the unit. what causes the screen brightness to dim then brighten by itself (despite the latest build and software).
I'm running stock 5.1.1, and even though my auto brightness is off my phone occasionally dims my display when it's on full brightness. It's not running particularly hot (37 degrees C according to my battery widget) so I don't know what's causing it to dim.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have an strange, occasional problem with screen brightness. This problem has survived a factory reset and flash from Android 5.0.x to 5.1.x. I had also recently cleared the partition cache.
My screen sometimes goes very dim. I keep brightness on Auto. However, when this happens, cycling brightness to full makes no difference to the dim screen. Furthermore, the screen is dim only in some instances, such as: ChromeNova Launcher home screenSome other apps (can't recall which)
In other places, I see full brightness. For example, the notification shade is in full brightness (or whatever Auto sets it too).
The other day, I was outside in bright sunlight. My browser suddenly went dim, almost unreadable. I clicked home - dim. I pulled the notification shade down - full brightness. Pulled notifications back up - dim again. On restart, everything is fine again.
I use Screen Filter, but it was not on. In fact, turning it on darkens the screen even further.
I've had the G4 for a couple of months now. Today was the first time I used it outdoors. The weather was completely cloudy with some fog. When I was taking pictures of my car, I could't really see anything. I unchecked auto and turned brightness to maximum. It was slightly better, but still not good. All I could see was the outline of the car. I then pulled out my Samsung Note 5 and it had no problems showing me a bright image of my car while taking pictures. Is there some way to increase the brightness on the G4 beyond the maximum?

Does anyone know how to adjust the screen brightness of the 3710 fold phone (the inner screen)?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAs far as I can tell there is no way to adjust the screen brightness on this model (or any of the C series?).
It's a little bit annoying because in the instruction pdf it recommends that you change the brightness in order to save battery. The phone can't change brightness however. I'm using a c101.
I installed the 8107 and firmware update.I found that the screen brightness it is now too low on automatic and when I put it on medium or high setting the soft keys stop lighting up, they only worked when in auto or low mode which is too dim for my eyesight.I wasted my money RS:-29,000/-[Lots of problem in phone].First i have to buy my phone and i have to take some time out to tell u all problem.waste of money n time.I am nokia fan statring to till now.
View 10 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to stop my phone from dimming all the time. If I am gaming or on the phone a while it goes from 100% brightness to like 70. I do not use auto brightness as I do not like it. I like the screen to be as bright as can be.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got a Moto X 2014 in the mail and I love everything about it besides the size and the screen. When I turn the brightness down, especially when looking at gray tones, the screen takes on a dark purple color. So, is this normal or should I return the phone?
View 23 Replies View RelatedLumia 950 in my hand. Feels much lighter than my Lumia 930. Slightly larger in my hand but definitely thinner overall. Love the matte white finish. It's very elegant looking and gives a nice grip while holding it.
All of my settings and contacts synced perfectly (including my alarms).
AT&T HD Voice does work and is active. You'll see the text "AT&T HD Voice" when making a phone call to a compatible phone (my wife's 950 in this case). LTE remains active during the call.
Screen is not as good as the 930. Much dimmer overall. I'm not impressed with that as it's going to make using it outdoors a lot worse. Might have to pressure Microsoft to push a firmware update or something. The colors look accurate and vibrant, but dimmer is not better in the cell phone world. I turned off automatic brightness and set it to 100%. The photo below tells the story.
By the way, the photo below was taken on my wife's 950. The 930 is on the right.
I just tried some more stuff, including dropping the brightness slider down to 0%. I then pushed it back to 100%. I did not use the brightness button in the action center. It seems brighter now. I'd probably say it's about 90% as bright as the 930 all though not quite.
I have a question regarding adjusting the screen brightness. I am visually impaired and I want to turn it down as much as possible since I am using Narrator the screen reader in Windowsphone 8.1 so I get Everything in speech.
Well, if I turn the screen brightness down to low, is it easy for someone to see what I am doing or is there an app that will let me almost do the screen dark? On other platforms there are.
