Sep 22, 2011I've had this problem once before in that my xperia play will not adjust to the right brightness settings. If I go outside and look at it I can see it a little but not enough to do anything with it and if I go inside it just goes to I can't see it at all. Last time this happened waited a while and it just suddenly started working. Do you think I should wait and see if it comes on or just take it and see if they can find out whats wrong with it.

Jul 20, 2014Ok I've noticed and I have my auto brightness checked off and my brightness level at 70 percent.. Why is it that I notice on home screen and while using apps that my back light dims just a tad every so often.. Its like the screen dims about 10-15 percent quite often.. The first phone I exchanged for another one and this one does the same thing. Only thing I did n changed on the phone is that it's running Art.

Dec 13, 2013When I switched to the HTC One from the iPhone it was annoying that I no longer has a simply sound/vibrate switch anymore. It ended up not being THAT big a deal though since I was able to simply adjust the volume and/or sound profile of the device by waking it up and pushing the volume buttons. However on the Nexus 5, it's been quite frustrating because the only way to adjust the volume of the device is to wake up the device, unlock it and THEN adjust the volume. Not sure why Google would force you to take 3 separate steps to simply change the volume but it doesn't make much sense. Are there any apps or other tweaks (without being forced to root) that will allow me to adjust to volume from the lock screen (or even with the screen off)?!

Feb 10, 2012I got a problem with my nokia 5800 screen, sometimes when my brightness is bellow 80% 2-3 flickering lines appear wherever I am ( home screen, watching a video, browser, call someone etc.). Aug 25, 2010I set a photo as my background on my X6, but the image re-sizes itself so its bigger in the home screen and not all of the image appears on the screen, alot is cut off.
I cant quite figure out how to adjust the image so that it stays the same size when its used as my back ground, or how to re-adjust the image back! What I press the headset button short the phone tries to make voice dialing, i.e. it listens to some word said and tries to make a fit from my phonebook and then dial it. The problem is that this button is pressed accidentally and then the phone hears some noises and find a "match" - which is basically picking one of the names stored in random - the result is a phone call to some people that I saved their number years ago leading to embarrassing results. I tried to disable this feature. I couldn't. Any feature of the phone can be turned off except this one!! I don't want voice dialing enabled what can I do!

Feb 16, 2012My Xperia Active is barely 3 weeks old, running Android version: 2.3.4 and latest build: 4.0.2.A.0.62. My screen brightness is kept at maximum, I have never dropped this phone or abused it and rest of it's functions are running fine. Barely a week in, it seemed to have a faintly flickering screen which I thought might have just been my eyes going. This week, the flickering has been replaced by what I would describe as "breathing" - screen brightness goes from max brightness (100%) to gradual dimness (about 78% brightness) to max brightness again - without me touching anything nor am I running out of power. This happens once in a while throught the day, not constantly. Rather alarming as I am getting very attached to this little phone.
I have been checking the SE forums since the 1st week of ownership, the flickering screen problem has been reported occuring to other SE phone models, including the Mini on which the Active has been based. I have wiped all data from my phone and gave it back to the seller for their tech to figure out. My last option if unrepairable, is to ask the seller to replace the unit. what causes the screen brightness to dim then brighten by itself (despite the latest build and software).
Google Nexus 5 :: Auto Brightness Is Off / Phone Occasionally Dims Display On Full Brightness
Sep 28, 2015I'm running stock 5.1.1, and even though my auto brightness is off my phone occasionally dims my display when it's on full brightness. It's not running particularly hot (37 degrees C according to my battery widget) so I don't know what's causing it to dim.

Aug 27, 2015I have an strange, occasional problem with screen brightness. This problem has survived a factory reset and flash from Android 5.0.x to 5.1.x. I had also recently cleared the partition cache.
My screen sometimes goes very dim. I keep brightness on Auto. However, when this happens, cycling brightness to full makes no difference to the dim screen. Furthermore, the screen is dim only in some instances, such as: ChromeNova Launcher home screenSome other apps (can't recall which)
In other places, I see full brightness. For example, the notification shade is in full brightness (or whatever Auto sets it too).
The other day, I was outside in bright sunlight. My browser suddenly went dim, almost unreadable. I clicked home - dim. I pulled the notification shade down - full brightness. Pulled notifications back up - dim again. On restart, everything is fine again.
I use Screen Filter, but it was not on. In fact, turning it on darkens the screen even further.
LG G4 :: Can't See Screen When Outdoors Even With Brightness At Maximum?
Jan 1, 2016I've had the G4 for a couple of months now. Today was the first time I used it outdoors. The weather was completely cloudy with some fog. When I was taking pictures of my car, I could't really see anything. I unchecked auto and turned brightness to maximum. It was slightly better, but still not good. All I could see was the outline of the car. I then pulled out my Samsung Note 5 and it had no problems showing me a bright image of my car while taking pictures.Is there some way to increase the brightness on the G4 beyond the maximum?
