View 7 RepliesWhat do I ask for to get the right USB data cable for my 3710? Is there a name for the particular type I need? Is it an industry-standard cable, or a special Nokia-only one? Where would I buy such a cable? Radio Shack? I'm in the USA.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am unable to connect my E71 to PC Suite with the cable.Connecting to PC Suite via Bluetooth however is no problem. How do I resolve this?
Nokia E71
PC Suite 7.1.40.6
Windows Vista Professional
After installing the latest version of PC suite (7.1) on my PC, the application doesn' t recognize when my phone is connected in PC suite connection mode, although when it is connected in USB mass storage mode the windows recognize it. The message that appears on the screen is :
"Ovi Suite/PC Suite does not recognize the connected phone.Ovi Suite/Pc Suite cannot read the required information from the phone.Check that the connected phone is supported by Ovi Suite/PC Suite".
After searching the forum I found a similar topic for other phones, but although I tried what they suggested: completely uninstalling any nokia software from my PC (including PC connection wizard etc) and after reinstalling PC Suite AND Ovi Suite latest versions both, the problem still remains. Therefore is there any solution for this or at least where can I find an older version of PC suite to install it?

View 1 Replies View Relatedmy PC was able to connect to the internet with my 5800 via a USB cable. Now, I can no longer connect to the internet with the 5800 via a USB cable. I had never tried connecting the computer to the internet with the 5800 via Bluetooth prior to this incident, so I tried that. Strangely, it works. My question is how come I can no longer use the 5800 via USB as a modem, but how come the 5800 via Bluetooth still works as a working modem? Sorry, if my sentences are confusing. I have a terrible headache at the moment. While the Bluetooth connection works, I just feel better using the USB connection and knowing that my 5800 has a clean bill of health. BTW, my PC is on Windows 7 Professional at the moment. I've tried uninstalling the Ovi Suite and reinstalling it, but that didn't work. I've also tried using PC suite instead of the Ovi Suite but that didn't work either. What other options do I have, beside hard resetting the phone? Edit: BTW, the message shown when I tried to connect to the internet with the 5800 USB modem was "failed to establish a network connection".

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy new nokia N8 is constantly coming up with the message "connect usb cable to device". I'll click ok and 2 minutes later it will reappear. When I connect it to a usb, it disappears but will then reappear when I unplug. I've tried updating software but none is available, and there is no programs running on the phone. When I turn off and on I still get the same problem.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe user manual references page 24 but I find nothing there or anywhere else to enable this to be a speakerphone. Also, I cannot find anywhere what the symbols represent on the lowest right button. I figured out by chance that I can enable silent or normal mode but have no idea what else might be possible. I also don't know what the symbols on th 0 number key represent. Since I don't use internet access and don't text perhaps I don't need to know, just curious.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to connect my Nokia 3710 fold to the Nokia Ovi Suite. But when I try I get this. Is there a driver I need to download. If there is where can I get it from?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have the following problem with my Nokia 3710 fold. What I press the headset button short the phone tries to make voice dialing, i.e. it listens to some word said and tries to make a fit from my phonebook and then dial it. The problem is that this button is pressed accidentally and then the phone hears some noises and find a "match" - which is basically picking one of the names stored in random - the result is a phone call to some people that I saved their number years ago leading to embarrassing results. I tried to disable this feature. I couldn't. Any feature of the phone can be turned off except this one!! I don't want voice dialing enabled what can I do!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm sure the title set off a few noob alarms Everything I've read online says USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with USB 2.0. I recently bought a pair of Anker micro USB 3.0 cables from Amazon UK (can't post a link). When I use these to try to connect my Samsung S5 to my computers, I get mixed results.
On my desktop: plugging into a USB 3.0 port on the motherboard works fine. The USB front panel of my case is USB 2.0 only. Plugging the phone into these ports using the Anker cable results in the phone only charging, Windows does see it. These ports work fine with the phone if I use a micro USB 2.0 cable.
On my laptop, all the ports as USB 2.0. Plugging the phone into the standard ports results in the phone only charging, Linux does mount the phone. However, plug the phone into the yellow "always on" port and my phone is detected.Do I have duff cable, duff phone or there some odd incompatibility here?
