Nokia :: 6220 Classic / Unable To Connect Via USB Cable
Jul 20, 2010
After installing the latest version of PC suite (7.1) on my PC, the application doesn' t recognize when my phone is connected in PC suite connection mode, although when it is connected in USB mass storage mode the windows recognize it. The message that appears on the screen is :
"Ovi Suite/PC Suite does not recognize the connected phone.Ovi Suite/Pc Suite cannot read the required information from the phone.Check that the connected phone is supported by Ovi Suite/PC Suite".
After searching the forum I found a similar topic for other phones, but although I tried what they suggested: completely uninstalling any nokia software from my PC (including PC connection wizard etc) and after reinstalling PC Suite AND Ovi Suite latest versions both, the problem still remains. Therefore is there any solution for this or at least where can I find an older version of PC suite to install it?
I'd like to know how to move the Music Player Application to the expanded Memory Card.(It's mentioned it can be dome on this site: http://mobilereviews.o2.co.uk/devices/device.jsp?deviceId=505&tab=5) OR How can I point the music player to play music from the memory card? There's a folder in the memory card called 'Music' but it doesn't show up when accessing music from the music player application. At the moment I have to go to: Settings | Data Managager | File Manager | Memory Card | Music to play music, rathern then just open the player and go straight from there.
How I can switch from 3G to EDGE on my Nokia 6220 classic? I find that 3G tends to drain my battery a lot when I use apps such as whatsapp and I'd have to recharge my phone three times a day which is inconvenient for my occupation.
I've got a Nokia 6220 Classic and over the past few weeks, certain keypads have started acting strangely. Firstly it was the [7] key. When I pressed the keypad nothing happened so I hit it a few more times and eventually the number came up. As time went by, the problem spread to [1], [4] and [*/+] until finally none of them react at all anymore. As a result, I can turn the phone on but I can't enter my pin-code to access the menu etc.I'm at my wits end and am just wondering if anyone has any words of advice that might help me. I've obtained an early exit fee from my service provider so now I just need to find out if it's going to cost more to fix at a Nokia Care Center.
I have a strange problem with my 6220 classic (latest firmware 05.15.217.05). It seems that whenever I take a picture using the built in camera, the SD-card's filesystem gets more or less corrupted (the pictures are saved on an 8GB MicroSD card FAT32 formatted). When checking the filesystem after taking one ore more pictures using latest dosfsck (a unix tool), errors range from "Free cluster summary wrong" (which is more or less harmless), differing FATs, and truncated files (in all my test cases images that were just taken).Other applications are also affected: I had no voice in my navigation application until I repaired the file system using fsck.

I tried to install Nokia PC Suite for my Nokia 6730, but without success, because the system says: "The older version of Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver cannot be removed."What can I do ?
Guide me to connect above mentioned model of cell phone to pc via usb cable.I have xp service pack 2 in my pc and also nokia pc suit. When I try to connect it with my pc it gives massage "host did not response".
i have installed and uninstalled Nokia pc suite several times , tried on both windows 7 and xp pro, and tried the registry cleaner for clearing Nokia files and i cannot get this phone to connect to my computer. It will not connect when asked to at start up screen for Nokia pc suite.
my PC was able to connect to the internet with my 5800 via a USB cable. Now, I can no longer connect to the internet with the 5800 via a USB cable. I had never tried connecting the computer to the internet with the 5800 via Bluetooth prior to this incident, so I tried that. Strangely, it works. My question is how come I can no longer use the 5800 via USB as a modem, but how come the 5800 via Bluetooth still works as a working modem? Sorry, if my sentences are confusing. I have a terrible headache at the moment. While the Bluetooth connection works, I just feel better using the USB connection and knowing that my 5800 has a clean bill of health. BTW, my PC is on Windows 7 Professional at the moment. I've tried uninstalling the Ovi Suite and reinstalling it, but that didn't work. I've also tried using PC suite instead of the Ovi Suite but that didn't work either. What other options do I have, beside hard resetting the phone? Edit: BTW, the message shown when I tried to connect to the internet with the 5800 USB modem was "failed to establish a network connection".
I am having a data cable CA - 45. I can also run internet in my mobile properly using mobile office. But how can I run internet in my pc? My phone is not being detected by the Nokia PC Suite.
My new nokia N8 is constantly coming up with the message "connect usb cable to device". I'll click ok and 2 minutes later it will reappear. When I connect it to a usb, it disappears but will then reappear when I unplug. I've tried updating software but none is available, and there is no programs running on the phone. When I turn off and on I still get the same problem.
When i Connect the Data cable to the computer , the nokia e7-00 becomes unresponsive or hangs and nothing can be done. Is there a specific setting to be done or is it a issue
I just downloaded and started using Ovi Suite. My Nokia 5230 is running old software so I wanted to update it. My phone is completely working and a SIM card is inserted in it and I can call with it, but when I want to install the update then it says that there is no SIM card. I have tried ejecting the SIM card and inserting it again but it didn't work. Do you know anything that would help? And also somewhy I'm unable to install anything into the phone by USB cable.
I'm sure the title set off a few noob alarms Everything I've read online says USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with USB 2.0. I recently bought a pair of Anker micro USB 3.0 cables from Amazon UK (can't post a link). When I use these to try to connect my Samsung S5 to my computers, I get mixed results.
On my desktop: plugging into a USB 3.0 port on the motherboard works fine. The USB front panel of my case is USB 2.0 only. Plugging the phone into these ports using the Anker cable results in the phone only charging, Windows does see it. These ports work fine with the phone if I use a micro USB 2.0 cable.
On my laptop, all the ports as USB 2.0. Plugging the phone into the standard ports results in the phone only charging, Linux does mount the phone. However, plug the phone into the yellow "always on" port and my phone is detected.Do I have duff cable, duff phone or there some odd incompatibility here?
i bought an iphone 6 but when i connect my iphone to my windows 7 laptop via the usb cable, nothing happens. My iphone doesnt charge or connect to itunes or my computer. But everytime i plug my iphone to computer, i hear the sound that confirms its connected.
Its not the usb cable's fault because i used the same cable to connect my ipod 5 to computer and everything worked normally. My itunes is also up to date. Why my computer knows the iphone is plugged in but doesnt do anything about it?
