Whenever I connect my Tattoo to a USB port, it asks if I want to to File Transfer, Sync or Share Internet Connection.I want to do none of these things - usually I just want to charge the phone! Is there a way to allow the Tattoo connect silently to a machine by default without insisting on one of the above (and then throwing an error...)
View 4 RepliesOn the Tattoo it shows that the phone is connected. Sync says the phone is connected... but neither Synchronize Now or Synchronize manager do anything.

I've been using it lightly for the past year or so and I hardly downloaded anything in that time.Lately, however, I've been downloading a bunch of apps and today I was informed via text message that I had surpassed my limit of 500 megs.Talking to Rogers support, we discovered that the Connection Preferences button under Network and Connections, then Mobile Network, wasn't there. He said it should be between Mobile Network and Network Selection Mode, which it wasn't.I have no option to have my phone switch automatically to my wireless when I'm back at my apartment, and as a result, it's using my Mobile Network to download everything, hence going over this month.Short of having to turn off my mobile network while I download stuff via my wireless (which means I won't be able to receive calls), what am I supposed to do? The guy on the phone told me to update my software, but I just tried through Blackberry Desktop and it said there was no update available.

With this connection I could not use the maps option since I am getting 'no connection' reply. When I contacted the cc of Aircel the asked me to send one sms "GPRS BP NOK 5230". If I send this sms I am immediately getting a reply message stating that "Your request could not be complied since your hand set is not compatible for GPRS setting". Pl clarify whether it is true that 5230 is not a compatible hand set for GPRS or tell me how to get Gprs activated to my hand set.

2. Whenever I went on the internet with my N95, I had a option how I wished to connect - my netgear router or Mobile web etc.
With N97, It chooses which one I have set on priority, but sometimes I dont want that one. Can I have it so that it asks me everytime I connect like N95?
I've been an owner of a HTC tattoo for a couple of months now and suddenly it doesn't want to register the SIM card, it just says "no SIM card in phone"
Is this something relatively common or is it likely to be a technical issue?
I will admit to have dropped it one floor onto a spiral staircase, but that happened about a month before it stopped working
And I do actually have a SIM card inside the phone

1) how to keep a song or a part of it as a ringtone? cause it offers just default ones .....
2) also how to edit a contact.... read somewhere that you need to transfer all the contacts from sim to phone...... how to do that???

When I connect my phone to the computer (macbook, using OSX 10.6.2), the phone does not recognize being connected to the computer, and the computer does not show the phone as a connected disk drive like it is supposed to.

Since I haven't activated that service, my sending fails. On the other hand, I'm able to view and import vCards I receive (I'm sure my friends are not using MMS either). Is there an easier way to insert contacts other than copying and pasting them?

When the phone is locked the "normal" way to unlock it is to slide down the screen with your finger, the problem is that it also unlocks just by pressing the menu key. No need to do anything else.A frequent situation: make a call, lock the phone, and put it inside a bag (hand bag). In this case it's extremely easy for the phone to call anyone in your list of recent calls. It's happened to me a few times already.The unlock procedure should be clear: you need to drag your finger down the screen.

However if I then exit the keyboard or turn the phone into its portrait position any entered text then appears. The problem happens ntermittently and disappears if I restart the phone. View 16 Replies View Relatedi just receivedan htc desire z/g2 from hong kong. it is running android 2.2. but it seems it is the older t-mobile g2 version.... i dont see the personalize button anywhere, nor do i see any of the live/interactive wallpapers or how to change them.....i am in mexico and will be using the telcel gsm network...anyway i can update this to the newer version??...i really have no clue what the differences are, etc. i go into menu > settings> and dont see any personalize option or wallpaper option...this is my first android phone.

I can only use the wifi if i go to settings>connectivity>wlan. If i go straight to internet, it tries to connect to t-mobile internet. This also happens when trying to use applications such as bbc iplayer and the ovi store.
Is there a way of setting the wifi connection as the default connection? If not, is there a way of setting up my applications so they connect using wifi?
I just received my 808 replaced by Nokia for the 3G bug issue. Now I have been noticing that annoying Connection Failed connection unavailable message every few seconds. Turned the positioning methods OFF and the frequency of the error message goes away but it still pops up every few minutes. I did a hard reset, removed the memory card where most of my apps are installed and it still gives me that same error. Ordered a new SIM to see if that makes any difference - none - Still same error message. That message is so annoying. Anyone have any other ideas that I could try ? Privacy mode is OFF also.
