I was updating my c1-01 firmware via ovisuite on my laptop. It got to a point when the phone is to restart but it got stucked there. since then when plugged to the computer via usb and the power button is pressed, a pop-up comes saying "hard ware ID missing, windows cannot identify the device plugged into the nokia flash parent. for assistance, contact the hardware manufacturer"
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC One M9 (AT&T) which is stock and unrooted. Apparently a failed 5.1 update while traveling abroad has caused my phone to get stuck in recovery mode. Rebooting the phone or powering down simply brings the phone back to recovery. I am hoping there might be a way to update a stock ROM or force an OTA update without losing any of the internal data on the phone. Alternatively I was hoping I could pull the photos from the phone before wiping or returning the phone.
My only options on this screen are to: reboot system now; apply update from ADB; wipe data/factory reset; wipe cache partition; reboot to bootloader; power down; view recovery logs; apply from phone storage; apply from sd card
I have tried all options multiple times, but I have not tried a factory reset because all of my pictures from my trip are still on the internal memory of the phone.
Unfortunately I never enabled USB debugging before the device failure, so I believe my options with ADB and “pulling” the files are limited. Nonetheless, my phone won’t communicate effectively with my PC or laptop while in recovery mode, my PC and laptop only recognize that an Android device is connected while in bootloader or download mode.
I have been told by HTC that my only option is to download and update the ROM that is available on their website to the phone, but this will erase all data on my phone.
Is there any other possible option for me that can kick my phone out of recovery mode, or extract the photos from the internal storage? Is there a different ROM or OTA update I can use that will retain my data once installed?
I was updating the phone to 5.1(i think) from 4.4(kitkat). Half way through, it says ERROR: Update Failed.
I plug it in the computer and attempt to fastboot/recovery mode/ SUS but it doesnt register under the software. (No device detected)

I'm using Bold 9790 and I tried to update my OS from 7.0 to 7.1. Before that, I backed my phone up. I faced the smart card error thing but i got though that. Afterwards, I tried to update the OS and the DM prompted me to back my phone up again. And I complied. But then, as it was backing up, it got stuck. How should I get over this issue?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried to update my iPhone software (after successfully backing up to iCloud, and then successfully updating iTunes software) but got a 1604 error message. The phone is stuck in recovery mode, and all attempts to restore the phone have resulted in failure. I keep getting the same error message. Basically, the phone never gets past "preparing to restore." I am linking my iPhone 4 to a PC Windows XP Professional, with up-to-date software. This is the third time I've tried (and failed) to update the iPhone software, though the other two times I was able to restore. This time nothing seems to be working.

I tried to update my iPhone 6 to the latest iOS 8.1.2 via lightning cable, but it failed for some reason because of an unknown error (17).
Now my iPhone won't update, restore or reset to factory settings... it is stuck in restore mode with the iTunes logo and cable showing on the screen.

I did encryption as I want to sell my phone, now it just keeps booting to "Encryption failed", I've factory wiped, formatted date, flashed stock firmware in Odin, still the same.

I have a curve 8900 on orange, the problem is; When i turn on the BB, it gets past the initial red light stage and when the OS actually goes to load, it will load to 3/4 of the way along the progress bar and just stop, constant reboots and battery pulls it will stil load to 3/4's and stop. I have tried using the application loader from command prompt as described in some threads on here and using the JLCmder, using the plug in and press next when the red light comes on, this process works untill the aplication loader tells the device to reboot and it loads again, cos it gets stuck 3/4's of the way, the application loader cannot continue and finish, it just sits there constantly trying to connect to the phone.

View 5 Replies View Relatedmy Nexus 5 all of a sudden. My phone wouldn't boot up and is stuck at the google logo and would not go further no matter how long i wait. I tried going to the recovery mood which i did but when i selected recovery mode using the vol up and down keys to navigate and hit on power button nothing happened,just a blank screen. I can soft reset or hard reset my phone. All i see is a blank screen if i try doing a soft or a hard reset and if i try to power on normally all i see is the Google logo.

I cant figure out if this is a software issue or a hardware issue. I read a few posts about people talking about the power button. The power button seems to be all fine.
I tried updating blackberry msg, twitter and blackberry protect through app world, it asked for a reset after the installation, the phone got stuck on the boot screen, did battery pull a couple of times and still it was getting stuck at that exact point, finally reloaded the OS and it still didnt bulge, tried a couple of other OS downgrades and it's still stuck on the boot screen at that exact point

View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried to flash the newest Vodafone firmware (PDA G920FXXU3QOJQ, CSC G920FVFG3QOJQ, Modem G920FXXU3QOJQ) on my G920F using Odin.
The first ROM i tried was corrupted and didn't pass the md5-check, so i downloaded a new one from samdownloads.de and tried again.
Odin shows the usual messages until hidden.img is written, after that it says "Complete (write) operation failed" and, after reboot, leaves me with a warning screen reading
"An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software."
I can power it down and reset with power+vol down, but it only gets to the same turqoise screen again and thats it. If I press the combo immediately, i can get into d/l mode, also.
Just checked a second time, failed again, now i am stuck with a phone that doesn't power off anymore. Waiting for the battery to die is not an option, just charged it, around 95% full. I suppose i have to flash a new bootloader? My TWRP is also gone, bad news. Do I have to install modem, bootloader and pit file now?
My Zylo's screen is now blank?! I've taken the battery out and re-booted after a few minutes - the usual log on and graphics appear but then the screen goes blank instead of showing the usual main menu.

Once it as announced, I was even looking forward to the 2.3.5 update, but I've not seen hide nor hair of it so far.Is there any way I can prompt the update? I'm assuming it's an OTA update but I've not seen anything so far. I've been checking manually every day for the last couple of weeks, but again nothing.Is there a way of narrowing down to a date as to when my particular phone is eligible for the update? View 4 Replies View RelatedI finally found a S6 with good button and display, but I think I have again bad luck: from time to time, camera is failing and is not related to low power because I encounter the issue at 80% battery level.
I tried factory reset, clear cache and data, and it comes back. But always, the camera is working after pressing Clear all in Smart Manager. If I simply kill the processes using the standard task manager, the camera shows the same error.
if it's an hardware problem, as I read online, why works after clean all operation? I have stock ROM, without root or special app(just fb, dropbox installed)

I owned nokia C6-01 for about 2 months and update my firmware to PR1.2. I also put the 'notification widget' on my first homescreen. The notification will notify incoming message and miss call event. Recently, I noticed that widget didn't prompt any message notification even though I received a new message. I thought this must be widget problem. So I remove that widget.
However, when received new message, the phone not show a new message alert. But, the message icon (on top right,if in portrait mode) can be accessed to preview the message. To revert back my phone to normal, which to normalized 'notification widget', I restarted the phone. And put back 'notification widget' on my first homescreen. Then, everything was fine. Until for a few days,the problem same still after my phone.
Not sure if the debt ceiling crisis is somehow linked to my Torch, but suddenly no incoming or outgoing email. Texting, phone and other things seem to work fine.

View 4 Replies View RelatedInstalled "enhanced kernel (titan) for power users" from my install list in application manager, as part of trying to get the Mobile Hotspot app to work. I was advised to do so by some very knowledgeable N900 users on this forum. Well...long story short(er)...loading the kernel did not make mobile hotspot work, so I decided to uninstall and revert back to the factory kernel. I did so using the "uninstall" app that came with the titan kernel....the screen went blank about half way through the process,...gave me a message that "kernel couldn't be removed". Thereafter, upon rebooting the phone, the N900 just sits there and reboots, reboots, reboots now...never completing a reboot before rebooting again. Sever has informed me that someone might be able to tell me how to reboot into update mode instead of Maemo for flashing....perhaps being able to just flash the kernel instead of the whole OS,...which I'll do if necessary.

Shortly afterwards the phone turned off and was unavailable for a couple minutes while processing the update. The iOS update tool should check and notify the user that the phone conversation will be terminated...and ideally give the user the ability to cancel out of the update action.

Last night I did the lollipop update for my Samsung s5 using Samsung Kies and all went fine until it booted up. The phone just kept rebooting itself after being on the lock screen for a few seconds. I booted it into recovery mode and factory resetting and wiping the cache but after the setup screens it just keeps restarting again.
