I was updating my c1-01 firmware via ovisuite on my laptop. It got to a point when the phone is to restart but it got stucked there. since then when plugged to the computer via usb and the power button is pressed, a pop-up comes saying "hard ware ID missing, windows cannot identify the device plugged into the nokia flash parent. for assistance, contact the hardware manufacturer"

View 2 Replies View RelatedInstalled "enhanced kernel (titan) for power users" from my install list in application manager, as part of trying to get the Mobile Hotspot app to work. I was advised to do so by some very knowledgeable N900 users on this forum. Well...long story short(er)...loading the kernel did not make mobile hotspot work, so I decided to uninstall and revert back to the factory kernel. I did so using the "uninstall" app that came with the titan kernel....the screen went blank about half way through the process,...gave me a message that "kernel couldn't be removed". Thereafter, upon rebooting the phone, the N900 just sits there and reboots, reboots, reboots now...never completing a reboot before rebooting again. Sever has informed me that someone might be able to tell me how to reboot into update mode instead of Maemo for flashing....perhaps being able to just flash the kernel instead of the whole OS,...which I'll do if necessary.

The phone just kept rebooting itself after being on the lock screen for a few seconds. I booted it into recovery mode and factory resetting and wiping the cache but after the setup screens it just keeps restarting again.

I have nokia 700 i have a different problem with nokia maps, by mistake i uninstalled the nokia maps and now when im trying to install again OTA, it says something went wrong and closes from ovi store. i tried opening the same in OVI suite and it says that the files / folders are broken. i tried to format the mass storage and also did a hard reset, but nothing seems to work.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought the C3-00 a month ago and after several problems like phone attaching to the gprs on its own and firing all my credit, getting stuck for no reason when opening gmail with the gmail application, today I had to remove the battery for the first time trying to find out the security code - which no one set and which is supposedly "12345" by default (only not because it DOESN'T work) - because I wanted to reset it to the factory setting, the phone which two seconds prior that action - removing the battery - was connecting with no problems with my pc wifi now when opening the browser Opera is giving me the title error:

A) I can't factory-rest the damn thing because I don't know the security code, security code which I never set. The supposedly factory code 12345 doesn't work.
B) After removing the battery the wifi is USELESS and the phone doesn't connect to the internet anymore. It goes to the nokia.ovi and the accuweather links and such, but the default browser (so ACTUALLY using internet)?? NO WAY..
Whenever I am trying to connect to WLAN, it got connected but the moment I start browsing, it displays message 'Connection Failed - Access Denied'. Sometimes, it shows 'Invalid Server'. I am really not sure why it is happening as 3G is working fine in my phone.
View 2 Replies View Relateda couple of days ago I tried to do an update on my W995a via the SEUS program (latest version used, downloaded the day I did the update), It got to about 90% then stopped and stayed at 90% for about 2 - 4 minutes then it came up with Update Failed, I've retried the process a few times and all have failed, I've used the repair feature in the PC Suite program to try to fix the phone but it fails about about 90% as well, I had no issues or software glitches with the phone before attempting the Update. The phone now will not load the OS but instead just sits there with the keypad lights on. Is there a solution to this problem? As this is my main phone and the SEUS program has broken it.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI bought an unlocked iPhone 5 today. I inserted my sim card, and the phone didn't ask me for the pin, nor did it change its network status to anything else but "searching". For several hours I waited, restarted the phone, toggled plane mode on and off, and tried a few other things I read up on on the internet. None of them worked, the network status still said "searching". So, I decided to try and update the device OS, from iOS 6 to 7.1.2. At first, I tried doing this OTA, so from within the iPhone`s settings. It downloaded the software for about 10 minutes or so, only to after a while, emerge with a message saying that the update failed. This happened several times. I then read a few other posts online, and was recommended to update the device via iTunes. So, I tried this, where, again, it downloaded the software, did some other things such as extracting the software, and then, somewhere in the process, a message popped up on iTunes saying the update had failed. The phone is now still in update mode however, with only the Apple-Logo being displayed on the phone, along with a half-full status bar. Â
What should I do? Should I hard restart the phone? Will this brick it, or is it already bricked? And how can I get it to find a network?

I have a Nokia N97 with Map Version 0.1.24.114 installed (clicking About in Maps also shows v3.03 so I am not sure which one is the one i should refer to). I get a text notification from Nokia saying I have a map update so I check software update and indeed version 3.04(165) is there but I cannot update> Please advise. My navigation and turn-by-turn guidance (as well as weather, lonely planet and events) all work but I want to have the latest maps version for accuracy.

After about an hour trying to reach the settings menu to delete some data off that drive, i thought turning the phone on and off might help but i was wrong it now comes up with phone start up failed. contact the retailer. Can i fix this myself or should i just take my phone back to the shop and does my guarantee cover this seems it was a nokia update?

Using PC Companion I have progressed to what I can only assume is the end of the preparation phase after 3 hours, the progress bar is complete; and then I get this meaningless message that the update failed.
This is very frustratiing as there is not much clue about what caused the failure. If it is because of a missing component, as pointed out already, why can PC Companion not check at the start of the marathon preparation that everything is in place and we will not waste so much time connected for nothing.
I have tried SUS and that fails because Windows can't find S1Boot with that remarkably phone procedure. I have looked at downloading S1Boot, as suggested, however then there are warnings on Warranty. Does PC Compantion/SUS download not contain S1Boot?
