Jan 11, 2010I just got my 3gs 16gb white iphone on Dec 23rd, and it went completely black and died (went black while the battery was pretty full) I was browsing on safari a few minutes prior to noticing it had gone black. I was able to restore it but I'm pretty worried how frequent this is supposed to happen and how dependable the iphone is. I'm not always going to have my laptop with me and the whole point of me getting the iphone was to upgrade to a more reliable device. Also when I restored my phone none of my third party applications were restored. Will I have to download these again? and are the data that was saved within the applications irreplaceable?

Oct 26, 2012My phone doesn't boot up. This has been happening since the last 2 days. The first time it happened, i used Update Service and updated the firmware to the new 4.1.B.0.587. The phone restarted normally after the update but the phone was very laggy. And after sometime, the same issue popped up. The phone would start up to the black screen. Again I used Update Service to do a factory reset and reinstall the new firmware. Formatted the memory card too. Again this issue is there.
I called up Sony Customer Care. They asked me to use PC Companion and repair the phone software. I did that too. Still no luck..

I have tried to reset with the home and on/off button (at the same time) and I have tried to plug into computer, but itunes doesn't detect device at all. Some times there is very small writing at top of screen that is so small I can't read. It seems as if the phone is in a restart loop.

May 24, 2012I have a white iPhone 4S that is permanently stuck on the Apple icon screen. I have:
- Plugged it into the computer. It is not recognized.
- Held the home button + the top button down in order to reset. Does not respond.
- Let the iPhone drain from battery usage. After recharging it eventually goes back to the Apple Logo screen and freezes again.
It seems to have just happened recently after upgrading my iPhone to the newest patch. Not sure which patch number it was, but I just updated everything as of last week.

Jun 1, 2014I was using my phone normally and then my apps began to stop working. I'd click snapchat and it would stay on the snapchat logo screen. Same with twitter. I turned the phone off so I can turn it back on. It took a long time to turn off and then the apple logo would stay on for about 40 seconds and go to a black screen. Sep 11, 2013My 1020's FFC has been working fine until yesterday when I tried to use the FFC and it just showed a black screen and you couldn't press any buttons on the screen, I just had to go back to the home screen to do anything else. The regular camera is working fine. Proximity sensor seems to working fine as well. I have done a soft reset with no luck, about to do a hard reset... It's not a huge deal but I do like my phone to be working at 100%!

When I came back it was stuck on the white loading screen and a message on the computer said iTunes could not connect to the Iphone because it was locked with a passcode and wants me to enter the passcode. However I cannot enter the passcode because the phone won't let me. I cannot get the iphone to shut off or restart as my top button hasn't been very responsive lately.

The problem started since last week the screen just shows a sign connect to itune, after several attempts i succeed to restore it. The phone just kept rebooting itself after being on the lock screen for a few seconds. Apr 17, 2012I have updated my iPhone 4 from iOS 5.0.1 to 5.1. The screen went black and start vibrating, I couldn't restore or have it hard reset. I let it vibrating for 4 hours until the battery went off. Then I used the restore through iTunes (lock+home keys for 10 sec then only home key) and manage to restore the phone with iOS 5.1 (not 5.0.1 that was the initial iOS - I don't know how it did that since i factory reset it. The problem now is that I got a big rectangle (75% of the screen) in the middle of the screen that flicks all the time (when the screen is black you can see the rectangle in the middle of the screen as grey). The phone is brand new, I just activated it today.
