Galaxy S6 :: Phone App Defaults
Jul 23, 2015When I open the phone app, I want it to display the keypad/dialer by default. This is how it worked on my S3. Is there a way to change this setting? If not, any recommendations for a replacement phone app?
It seems silly to me that this is not the default behavior already. If I initiate opening the phone app, vs answering a call, it is most likely because I want to phone someone. Instead, the app seems to open to whatever you were doing last (viewing the call log, favorites, contacts). I shouldn't have to press an additional key to get to the dialer. It's a PHONE app for goodness sakes!
Nokia :: N73 Is Very Slow - Tried Resetting Phone To Factory Defaults
Jan 28, 2010My N73 has been slow for some time, so I've been browsing these pages for a solution. This is what I've done so far: -
I changed my log history to one dayI moved all contacts and messages to my memory cardI reset the phone to factory defaults (my code was 11111 as default btw, not 12345 as suggested).
After powering up my newly restored handset I'm saddened to say that it's just as slow as before and is driving me nuts! Does anybody have any other ideas I could try?

Jan 4, 2010i was running nimbuzz on my N78 and all of a sudden the phone hang. On restarting, my phone memory was restored to defaults ie no contacts, no messages, calender is empty. The haze effect is not working as it should be and the wifi keeps dropping the connection.

Jan 25, 2010One step forward 2 steps back! I had a problem with my e-mails I stopped receiving messages on Friday and since talking to the service centre I now have 2 icons on my main screen. The new one has a globe at the bottom and my email address at the top when I scroll over it. All very nice but totally unnecessary.
Since this icon has appeared all my emails on my main computer are being marked as read. They were not before Friday Any ideas??

Nov 21, 2011I have just changed from a BlackBerry to the htc Desire S & am having all sorts of problems trying to persuade it to deal with my pop3 emails. I've religiously followed the instructions & the Incoming settings are accepted but when I put in the Outgoing details it always comes up with "Your outgoing server does not support authentication. Please verify your outgoing server settings". I am not a computer/phone expert but managed to set up my BlackBerry without any problem. In this case, after several failures I copied the settings as in my Outlook Internet email settings. No luck.I contacted the technical dept of Zen (the ISP) they were very knowledgeable & helpful but, after 90 minutes effort finally gave up.
All instructions on the htc site just repeat the user manual instructions which, in this case, does not work. I've emailed htc but have received no reply. I contacted the service provider - Vodafone. They advised that it is difficult to operate pop3 emails with the standard mobile phone Server port at 25 & suggested that I if I wish to use my business email address (rather that getting a new gmail one) then I would be best advised to return the phone & get a new BlackBerry. I find it hard to believe that it is not possible to receive & send normal emails on a modern smartphone & am hoping that someone may be able to guide my through an installation/troubleshooting process that will work.

Feb 21, 2011Whenever I view one of my email accounts I get an Alert pop-up saying: "There is not enough free space. Please delete some messages and try again." However, I have 6.68GB free on the SD card and 33.21Mb free on the phone. Nevertheless I've deleted many messages, especially those with attachments, turn the phone off and on again, but I still get the alert. It doesn't seem to affect my ability to download new messages, but it's annoying. It only happens on one (POP3) account. Do I have to delete and recreate the account?

Nov 25, 2010I've registered online with HTC sense, and got to the step where it asks me to login with my phone. I've gone to Setup on my phone where it said to go, saying that I should login when the HTC Sense screen comes up. However, no HTC Sense comes up during the setup?
I've also tried going to HTC Sense website through the phone's browser, but it just has the loading screen constantly cycling through? The phone is an HTC Desire, I'm on Orange (UK) and the OS is Android 2.2.

The one with the problem most often is the stock camera app. When I go into it, it asks me repeatedly if I want to turn on geo tagging and whatever else it pops up even though I select to not ask again. The other day, Play did about the same thing. I had auto updates and update notifications turned off, and it randomly popped up that I had apps needing approval to update. I checked the settings and it reactivated the options to auto update (risking blowing out my data cap since I'm not always on Wi-Fi) and notifications.
