I have updated or artleast attempted to update my phone but now the phone isnt right. is there away to restore the phone back to default/factory defaults ect just so everything goes back to day 1.

I do have a backup of the data so I all need to do is figure or get told how to set the device to factory defaults so I can reload the system with the application that is storing the data I need.

Has anyone figured out a way to do this? know in the OS 4.6, there was an option when you go to your media files that said "reset default home screen" or something like that. My N73 has been slow for some time, so I've been browsing these pages for a solution. This is what I've done so far: -
I changed my log history to one dayI moved all contacts and messages to my memory cardI reset the phone to factory defaults (my code was 11111 as default btw, not 12345 as suggested).
After powering up my newly restored handset I'm saddened to say that it's just as slow as before and is driving me nuts! Does anybody have any other ideas I could try?
i was running nimbuzz on my N78 and all of a sudden the phone hang. On restarting, my phone memory was restored to defaults ie no contacts, no messages, calender is empty. The haze effect is not working as it should be and the wifi keeps dropping the connection.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI went to reset my BB and wanted to "WIPE" out everything and start from factory defaults with no applications on it. Been having some weird problems. Since I've done this, everytime I log into the BB using a "new" password all the time, I get into the BB no problem. But when I turn on the wireless, it'll take about 30 seconds and it'll rewipe the device and restart again into this vicious cycle. Don't know what to do now.
I am now re-reading the 'WIPE' option and it shows that if you select to wipe the Email and Contacts, it says you can't do this anymore. I need to resync my BB with enterprise activation to my work email and contacts.

Due to much meddling of my own my N900 is now in a very interesting (mostly usable) state. I was wondering if there is a simple way I can attach my device to my computer and restore it to factory defaults (software wise). Reflashing the device does [i]not[/i] restore all default settings. I want to remove all user added/edited files as well as restore the default partition layout of the device.

Airplane mode is still on and there's no way to get it out. What's the big deal? Well it's trying to reactivate my phone and it won't activate it without the antennas on...and I can't get to the Settings to disable Airplane mode because it's in that iOS 5 initial set up. However, now I can't download apps from OVI that I have downloaded before the restoration to factory defaults. I can download other apps from OVI fine. When I used the BB with only WIFI I could erase/delete it ok. Rogers BB tech said it was cause this is a older BB. Don't know about that.

Default Services: <my primary email> (I also have a second BIS email attached, but the CICAL for that one has been deleted.)
After struggling for days to get rid of the Device Default calendar (in addition to the calendar associated with my primary email and which is set as default under Default Services), I finally got my whole BB calendar on to the one calendar it should be on: the one associated with my primary email. And lo and behold, the Device Default disappeared. hallelujah, I thought.
Having cleared out the calendar using Device Manager, I then opted for a one way sync from Outlook to my new BB with its one and only calendar now, the calendar associated with my primary email and listed as the default under Default Services.....
I need to restore my iPhone (currently OS 3.1.2) back to its original factory setting. If I do this through iTune, will I have to upgrade to the new OS 4.0?
I don't wish to do that, as I have a new ibootrom, so I near that jail breaking in the new OS is not yet possible unless I have made some smart decision in the past, which I don't know if I did. Anyway, is there anyway I can restore factory settings WITHOUT upgrading to the latest firmware, ie. keep in 3.1.2?
I just switched to an android phone from an iPhone for the first time. I went to the att store where they transferred my contacts over to the S6. 2 days later I tried to install an ios emulator to download an app not available on android that I used to use. The emulator turned out to do nothing and I felt like I just installed malware so I look into restoring the phone to a previous point. To my surprise there is no option to do this but factory restore and then back up from your google account. I
do this thinking I'll be fine because I turned on the setting to back up my phone to the google account. I do the reset and discover that I only get one restore point and it doesn't mention from what time; just says "last used today". I do the restore even though its probably not far back enough to erase the damage the emulator download did and discover that I have lost all my contacts.
Whats the point of the backup if it doesn't backup the single most important thing: your contacts! Whats the point of backup if you can't restore to multiple points! Feeling really frustrated with this phone right now. Do I need to go back to ATT with my old iphone to get my contacts back again?
