View 5 RepliesI have a Blackberry curve 8300 that I have decommissioned. However, I left some data on it that requires recovery. Funny things is I forgot the password. I do have a backup of the data so I all need to do is figure or get told how to set the device to factory defaults so I can reload the system with the application that is storing the data I need.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI switched iphones today with a friend of mine. I made sure that I had backed up everything to my computer AND iCloud before doing the trade. Did it, everything set up fine. Restored through iTunes and then turned on. I still had my email, texts, call logs, contacts and notes. But all my apps and songs are gone. How do i get them back?

I have been using my iPhone 4 as an iPod for a while because I'm waiting for AT&T to unlock it. I wanted to restore my phone to backup in my computer, but the restore button only restored my phone to factory settings, and it now tells me to activate the phone but I don't have the original SIM. Is there a way to restore to backup without activating the phone?

After I received the update, my phone slowed considerably. It may have been a result of some other things, but point is, it slowed. To the point where I was waiting for a couple of minutes for a simple text to load.I cleared out my storage to see if that would fix the problem, but that didn't work. Someone suggested a factory reset, so after a lot of contemplating, I backed everything up onto my HTC Backup Account (Linked with Google Drive) and went for it.Normally, after a factory reset, the setup screen should ask you, "How do you want to set up your phone?" Or something along those lines, and one of those options should be to restore from a backup. The name of this screen should be "Set up your phone" at the top. After my reset, I was just taken to "Setup Wizard", which gave me no option to restore from a backup, but only let me put in a Google account and gave me the option of restoring my contacts.
ALL of my important data is on that backup, and I have nothing on my phone right now.I've tried connecting with my Google and HTC Accounts, but there is still no option to restore from those backups.I've tried, through the HTC Backup App, to restore, but the option to restore from backup is greyed out because "you have already completed backup or restore on this phone".I'm extremely frustrated and frantic to get my data back. Without that backup/restore I have to reinstall every single app by hand, reorganize everything I had, and even somehow get a couple of contacts back, since the Setup Wizard's contact restoring didn't seem to be up to date. Even in doing so I would still be missing a huge chunk of my phone. Is there anything I can do? Why is my phone showing me the Setup Wizard instead of the "Set up your phone" screen?I have the 32 GB HTC One with Verizon, and the phone was purchased September 2013.
My friend using Xpeira X8. The firmware version is 1.6. in 1.6 there is no options for privacy . so we couldnt get factory reset.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIm using nova launcher right now, and im getting sick of it. Im going to give sense a try, is there a way to reset my phone like a factory restore but without losing all of my pictures and contacts? I dont need any of the apps to stay as i can re download any of the ones i need. I assume if i just use some sort of backup service it will keep everything and thats not really what im looking for.

I have a small problem with my Iphone 4 5.1 - modem firmware 4.12.01 and I had it just replaced two weeks ago and it was locked and not activated.
After working on it to activate it (don't have the original sim the mobile was locked to) I decide to restore it to factory setting, as it was when replaced. I tried with Itunes but it gives me error 3194 putting it in a loop and later I tried to do it via the device itself (settings > general > reset > cancell data and settings) but it got stuck on the loading circle for 5-6 hours so I pressed together power and home to shut it down.
So what should I do now to restore it to factory settings? I don't know what to do and I don't want to endanger my warranty (if it is still on at this point!!!).I have windows 7 and tried with a different usb ports or with no firewall but to no avail.

I saw a similar post of someone flashing nexus 4 firmware on accident and he fixed it this way, but i think the command lines must be different since his command lines were using nexus 4 directories

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to sell my iPhone 4 and need to do a factory restore to remove all my stuff. When I connect it to iTunes and click on the 'restore' button it insists on updating the software to 7.1.2 first, which the phone already has. At the end of the update I get a message saying that the update was unsuccessful as it was corrupted. But I don't need the software anyway!! Is there a way of by-passing this update so that I can just do the restore? I just want to clear off my stuff so that I can sell the phone.
