My nexus 5 has stopped notifying me when someone replies to me in the course of a conversation. It alerts me when a new text comes in but not once the conversation is in progress.
View 2 RepliesI'm sure many of you have heard that when you enter an incorrect pattern/PIN/password, eventually the phone asks for Google account credentials to unlock it. My Nexus 5 on 5.1.0 does not do this. Does yours? If my lock screen is set to PIN, I can enter as many incorrect attempts as I want, it never asks and never stops me. If I have a pattern set it will let me enter 10 incorrect attempts after which it simply stops me from trying for 30s, but it never asks for Google account credentials.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo this morning I woke up to my phone on a boot loop on the Google Logo. I have no custom roms or mods on it other than I am running ART. I suspect it could be battery related as it will only seem to do this on the charger but when I don't have it plugged in it won't even start up. When it's plugged in it won't even seem to want to stay "off", it boots up to the google logo on its own. If I hold down the volume rocker I can get into the bootloader but it resets before I can select anything and boots right back into the google logo.

What should I do now? I tried to flash stock and unroot via nexus root toolkit, i get the same.

On my iPhone, whenever there is an incoming call that I didn't answer, or a new message, there is always a very visible notification on the phone desktop, so I can deal with it immediately. This doesn't seem to be happening with my Nexus 5. Sometimes I don't discover the message, which was obviously designed for immediate reading, until days after, when I am going through my messages. I'm sure there must be a way to make the phone let me know, but I haven't figured it out yet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe new Facebook Messenger (the UI overaul version), introduced a nice new notification sound for incoming messages. I was interested in extracting the sound from the app but I can't find it anywhere in a File Explorer.
FYI - I'm using Stock 4.4 Nexus 5 out of the box.
I am not talking about the "Facebook-pop.mp4". The newest version of the app introduced a newer sounding noise. It almost sounds like a water droplet.
How to get it?
My phone stuck on the circles dots that spins i gave it like 30 mints and nothing, when i try to plug it in the PC i dont have the drivers and when i try to get in the recovery mode i get the no command massage....

Am suspecting i have some invalid setting however not sure which. This used to work fine until recently and my service provider confirmed that set up from their end is enabled correctly.

I changed the password in the Android Mail App (yellow icon) on my Nexus 5 and I can send and receive emails ok. however, every time I go into the App for this address I see the message "Can't sign In". Everything seems to be working fine though so I am not sure the relevance of this message of what I do to get rid of it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus 5 running Android 5.0. I have two email accounts through my ISP. I set up both accounts set to "Delete from server" "Never". The alternative is "Delete from server" "When deleted from inbox."
When I get an email on my Nexus 5, if I delete it, it is gone from the server and when I log onto my computer at home I have no email. If I let the emails sit on my Nexus 5, download them to my inbox at home, then I can delete them from the Nexus 5 without losing them.The default seems to be to delete the message from the server when it's deleted from the inbox whether you choose "Never" or not.

Every time I get a text from her and open it up through the notification bar, the link that I sent shows up in the text box to send to her again. I've cleared the cache in Hangouts, SwiftKey, and Chrome, and rebooted and I still can't get it to go away.

On the GS3, certain icons would show "event counters" or whatever they're called in the top right corner. The email icon would show me how many unread emails I had. The Text Messaging app would show me how many unread texts i had. Facebook would show me how many unread notifications I had, etc etc... They were all the same, a number in a little orange bubble in the top right corner of each respective icon.

For example, it's 6:15 a.m. right now, and I would like to text someone after they wake up today, but I may be sleeping by the time they get up, so I'm wondering if there is a way to schedule my phone to send out a text message 2 hours from now at 8:15 a.m.?
It seems as though there are several third-party apps that claim to do this - and I may end up trying one of those apps - but I would prefer to not install any other Texting apps on my phone, if possible, so I would like to find out if there is a way to do through through Google Hangouts.
I have T-Mobile service on a Nexus 5 running Android 4.4.4 and I use the version of Hangouts that is automatically installed on my phone for text messaging. I don't have any other Text Message apps installed on my phone.
By the way, if there is no way to do this through Google Hangouts, any 3rd-party app that will do this that they have used?
My carrier is Tmobile. I'd like to block a few numbers that keep calling me (Sirus XM, insurance sales,...).

I've only gone as far as doing a hard reset on both phones with no change. Everything else ( mail and phone) is working as far as I can tell.

When I turn on hotspot on my phone any device that connects to it sates no internet connection. I have installed debloated firmware. any good application I can install that will allow me to use my phone as hot spot?

I can get into recovery and have flashed factory 5.1.1 and 4.4.4 images but all that changes is the device loops with older boot animations. Kwongger's NEXUS 5 Toolkit v2.2 completed successfully but didn't improve anything. Trying to flash Cyanogenmod I run into adb "unauthorised". The device had usb debugging enabled and the RSA key of the PC was accepted but after multiple factory resets it appears to be gone.
