Having problems when sending messages to my service provider e.g. Balance check. Message status remains 'sending'.
Am suspecting i have some invalid setting however not sure which. This used to work fine until recently and my service provider confirmed that set up from their end is enabled correctly.
since replaced the display on my nexus 5, the indicator of the battery charge remains always at 0% ... if the detachment from the current, continues to run regularly for a few hours. I also tried replacing the battery with an original but to no avail. If i turn off the phone there is no way to turn it back on if you disconnect the battery, attacking power, get it going in the bootloader, reattach the battery and then start.

It's a circle with 2 dashes in it in the top left corner (not on the right!) Running Marshmallow on a Nexus 5 with Nova Prime.
I assume it's from a fairly recent app download but I can't figure out which one and I have lots, do not want to delete them all trying to find out....
I tried Lollipop for a loooong time and now I'm sick and tired. I downgraded to 4.4.4 but I have a persistent notification in the status bar saying that the new system update to android 5.0.1 is available. But I don't want it!
Is there a way to disable that notification? It is very anoying. I tried to download FOTAkill.apk and put it in system/apps with rw--r-r- permissions but doesn't work. I know that the simplest solution is to install a custom rom but I am very happy with stock rooted + xposed + modules.
Got my nice new nexus 5 and its 3 weeks old and I must say its soooo damn good to not have all the stuff put on to other android phones. This phone is simple and uncluttered, love it.
Just one little niggle. When in settings then into "about phone" and then into "status", it shows your phone number. Can some one tell me why its not my phone number. Did not think much of it until I started filling out info on my google stuff and it auto entered some info incuding the phone number, which was of course, wrong.
Simple questions really.
1. where has this number come from.
2. why is it not my number.
3. how do i change it.
How to fix the stupid "select input method" persistent notification in the status bar while typing with 3rd party keyboards (Swiftkey), etc.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble finding the proper way to send a .gif to someone via text.
I find a .gif via Chrome and save it to my Nexus 5. From there, I go the Photos app and can see the .gif animating just as it did on my mobile web browser. I then select the "share via Hangouts" option and send it. Testing this by sending it to myself, the .gif shows as it should via the senders end but the resulting text I get from myself shows up as nothing more than a still image.

Hangouts keeps sending messages twice and i don't know how to fix this. It is very annoying because my friends get angry because i always send twice. Is their a fix for this or Google just has to update it?

Also i am using TrueMesssenger sms app which is displaying PEEK or headsup notifications even after turning off the PEEK option from app info.

View 3 Replies View RelatedUpdated my 5 to lollipop and haven't been able to send downloaded pics through messenger or hangouts. I can send pictures that I have taken with my camera but if I download one from a website and then send it, the person receiving it just gets an error message. I don't backup the download folder in the cloud and I have tried everyway possible that I know of to attach the photo in the message.

I am not able to send any photos as attachment in whatsapp when using Gallery app. However, if I long hold the gallery icon, it enable me to choose Photos app and send the file from that app. Feels so annoying have to long hold the icon everytime I want to send photos.

On my iPhone, whenever there is an incoming call that I didn't answer, or a new message, there is always a very visible notification on the phone desktop, so I can deal with it immediately. This doesn't seem to be happening with my Nexus 5. Sometimes I don't discover the message, which was obviously designed for immediate reading, until days after, when I am going through my messages. I'm sure there must be a way to make the phone let me know, but I haven't figured it out yet.
