Google Nexus 5 :: Wrong Phone Number In (status) Sub Menu
Jun 9, 2014Got my nice new nexus 5 and its 3 weeks old and I must say its soooo damn good to not have all the stuff put on to other android phones. This phone is simple and uncluttered, love it.
Just one little niggle. When in settings then into "about phone" and then into "status", it shows your phone number. Can some one tell me why its not my phone number. Did not think much of it until I started filling out info on my google stuff and it auto entered some info incuding the phone number, which was of course, wrong.
Simple questions really.
1. where has this number come from.
2. why is it not my number.
3. how do i change it.

Aug 2, 2014New symbol on status bar today.....to the left of wifi signal indicator. Looks like an upright oblong tilted at 30 degrees.

I assume it's from a fairly recent app download but I can't figure out which one and I have lots, do not want to delete them all trying to find out....

Oct 12, 2015Having problems when sending messages to my service provider e.g. Balance check. Message status remains 'sending'.
Am suspecting i have some invalid setting however not sure which. This used to work fine until recently and my service provider confirmed that set up from their end is enabled correctly.
Google Nexus 5 :: Persistent Notification In Status Bar Saying That New System Update Available
Feb 12, 2015I tried Lollipop for a loooong time and now I'm sick and tired. I downgraded to 4.4.4 but I have a persistent notification in the status bar saying that the new system update to android 5.0.1 is available. But I don't want it!
Is there a way to disable that notification? It is very anoying. I tried to download FOTAkill.apk and put it in system/apps with rw--r-r- permissions but doesn't work. I know that the simplest solution is to install a custom rom but I am very happy with stock rooted + xposed + modules.

Aug 22, 2015I'm sure many of you have heard that when you enter an incorrect pattern/PIN/password, eventually the phone asks for Google account credentials to unlock it. My Nexus 5 on 5.1.0 does not do this. Does yours? If my lock screen is set to PIN, I can enter as many incorrect attempts as I want, it never asks and never stops me. If I have a pattern set it will let me enter 10 incorrect attempts after which it simply stops me from trying for 30s, but it never asks for Google account credentials.

Jul 20, 2014So this morning I woke up to my phone on a boot loop on the Google Logo. I have no custom roms or mods on it other than I am running ART. I suspect it could be battery related as it will only seem to do this on the charger but when I don't have it plugged in it won't even start up. When it's plugged in it won't even seem to want to stay "off", it boots up to the google logo on its own. If I hold down the volume rocker I can get into the bootloader but it resets before I can select anything and boots right back into the google logo.

Nov 29, 2015when charger is connected my phone keeps rebooting on Google logo, when I disconnect a charger it has no signs of being alive. now somehow i managed to get into fastboot, but when i try to get into recovery phone reboots again and shows full charged battery. Oct 28, 2015updating my Nexus 5 to marshmellow has left it stuck at the boot animation. I can get into recovery and have flashed factory 5.1.1 and 4.4.4 images but all that changes is the device loops with older boot animations. Kwongger's NEXUS 5 Toolkit v2.2 completed successfully but didn't improve anything. Trying to flash Cyanogenmod I run into adb "unauthorised". The device had usb debugging enabled and the RSA key of the PC was accepted but after multiple factory resets it appears to be gone.

Jan 18, 2015Around a year ago, my Nexus 5 kept 'crashing' on a very regular basis. However, I'm saying 'crashing' between '' because the phone was still on. I felt it vibrating when I'm called, the music kept playing and the notification light flashes. So the device was on, the backlight was working, but my screen remained black. The only solution was to 'hard reset' the device (holding the power button +- 10 seconds). The problem however kept reappearing.
I send it back twice, did multiple factory resets (with and without backup) and it seemed fixed. Until now, the problem is back since last week.
Sometimes it 'crashes' twice in a row, sometimes the device works fine for another 24 hours straight. I'm currently doing another factory reset, but my experience tells me this won't really solve anything. This is also the reason why it's hard to explain this problem to the manufacturer: when I send it to them, I lose my phone for more than 3 weeks minimum and it could be that their tests show no problems at all.
