Galaxy S6 :: Adding HOTMAIL Account / Get Authentication Failed
May 18, 2015I've had just about every Galaxy flagship phone in the Samsung series and am certainly not a stranger on setting up accounts.I have 2 hotmail.com email accounts, a business and personal. I tried setting up my personal entering details correctly and I get "authentication failed" ... I jump on a PC and CONFIRM the password I used was indeed correct. I tried setting up the account manually (POP3) which wasn't a problem, however the device has absolutely no interest trying to connect to my account and sync. It keeps telling me the OP3 server is not responding.
I have tried changing my password on the PC to something else. I then re-attempted the email set-up and received the same error...authentication failed. Now, google, gmail, yahoo, aol accounts (etc) ALL work fine. I decided to try the OTHER hotmail account...enter the details and BOOM. It worked. The device is running stock ROM and is rooted (problem also existed before root)

Jun 13, 2012In March I was asked to validate my credentials, so I clicked on the link and it took me through to the Verify Blackberry ID page.I changed my email address as I had just got married. However it defaults to my old email address. I change it to my new email address and password but it says 'unable to log in at this time' I can log on through the PC as my new email address and password. It doesnt even recongise my old email address - but always defaults to it on the verify page.

Jun 26, 2015I just got a Galaxy S6 Edge and it isn't vibrating when I get an email to my main inbox. It is vibrating as it should for texts and calls, but not emails. However, it is updating when I get an email to my junk email. Over the last couple days I've had a couple loaner phones (due to my provider sending the wrong phones) and the S5 I had was vibrating when I got emails but neither the S6 or S6 Edge (which I have now) would vibrate for emails. Is there some setting I need to change so I get emails to vibrate?

May 21, 2015I'm using my S6 edge with a hosted Exchange account and the default Samsung e-mail app. I have a number of e-mails (currently, 14) in my in-box that will not be deleted on my phone. If I delete them on the phone, they reappear there later! The same messages do not appear anywhere else when I access my Exchange account (Outlook, iPad, etc.) So, it is definitely something specific to the phone's e-mail app. (I've used three previous Samsung phones without this issue.)

I removed my e-mails using web-mail on a computer but the e-mails still show up on the phone. I have manually sync'd the phone multiple times and they are still there. Why this is the case (My phone shows 250+ e-mails and when I log onto web-mail, I have about 20, which is correct)?

Jul 5, 2015I just got a new samsung s6 edge previously an apple user and really annoyed by this phone, all I hear from friends is apple is so crap well I've never had an issue with iphones for me they worked how they were meant to work, now I have the s6 edge and problem after problem doing the most basic of things, the most annoying of which is photos.
I'm trying to drag photos from the dcim folder of the phone to my windows 8.1 desktop, obviously connected by usb I have the drivers installed etc have used both the mtp and ptp options in phone, neither option works each time I drag to desktop all the windows close screen turns grey like explorer crashes and the desktop refreshes, also done copy and paste does the same thing.
I don't want to use software as only way to do it which is slow and laborious is like google photos etc. surely if its treated as a storage device just copy and drag, really annoyed as it should be so simple.

Nov 29, 2015I had a GS5 and I was able to sync facebook contacts to my device contact list with ease. However, I can't do the same with my GS6 Edge. Going to accounts-> facebook, only shows my account with a gray "refresh" bar saying " sync turned off" and it gives me no option to turn it on. Master Sync is turned on, and Sync from the main pulldown bar is turned on as well. I'm getting ready to chuck this phone at the wall cuz Im so frustrated. This was not an Issue with my GS5.

Mar 21, 2012I stopped receiving emails from my hotmail accont to my phone yesterday and then had a message from blackberry saying I needed to validate my email, which I did fine and also registered my blackberry ID. However, I still cannot send or receive my emais and when I try to send it comes up with an error message: 'User account is in INVALID mode'. I did change my hotmail password the other day; don't know if this is of importance. In addition, I have tried to modify the email account set up on my blackberry but it will not allow me to access the current account settings or allow me to add a new account, the option just doesn't exist or appear, which had not been an issue up until now. I could, however, set up an enterprise account if wanted. I am not sure who to contact about this so thought I'd post here first...
