When I type an email, sometimes it substitutes two or three letters for an email address, or a name of a contact of mine..I don't have any of this set up in shortcuts etc...it's as if those two letters are telling the device to substitute for a contact.
View 3 RepliesSince the last update (August 2015), whenever I type some letters letters (one, sometimes 2) from the beginning of the word disappear before I can finish typing the word. This causes autocomplete to think I'm typing a completely different word.
E.g., I tried to type "think" - the "t" disappeared by the time I had gotten to the "i"(despite it initially appearing initially), making the phone think that the word is starting with "h", and leading to issues when I press space (despite typing think perfectly, the phone autocorrected to the nearest matching word starting with H as "h" was now the beginning letter)
This has only been an issue since updating my phone this week. I thought it might have been the swipe function messing up, but turning that off, it's still causing me issues when I type normally.
When the last word in a sentence has a bubble around it (meaning I can make that word an emoji), my phone will put it there twice. Only if the word can be an emoji and it has a period after. For example, I just typed a sentence and the last word was "soon." I typed out "soon." And my phone sort of auto corrected it to "soon soon." NO matter how many times I tried deleting the second word, every time I put a period, if would add the word again.

In my case, it is suggesting every e-mail address that my gmail has ever received an e-mail from, that has been CC'd on an e-mail I have received, or that I have sent an e-mail to.
I am looking for a way to clear ALL learned words in one shot. I know I can do it one at a time when the learned word appears, but that will take forever. There should be a way to clear all of the learned words out of my Samsung S6 Edge plus. Further, not all of the learned words even clear when I clear them individually.
My phone is constantly putting o's into every word, and often just straight up barely types. It also is continuously calling numbers even after I've deleted them from my phone.
I called Bell and they had me wipe my phone and that didn't do anything, so I upgraded the software which also did nothing.
When I'm typing with the stock Samsung Keyboard occasionally it deletes the first letter of the word I'm typing automatically. This is really annoying because then it predicts a completely different word to the one I initially meant to type. Also, the issue is only with Samsung Keyboard, swiftkey works fine.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S6 Edge (Verizon) that I just updated to 5.1.1. It has now started randomly rebooting a few times a day. It seems to do this whenever it is on a charger (wireless or wired) and when it reaches 100%, but I have not yet seen it reboot while I've been holding it. This is not the problem where it then starts optimizing apps after rebooting. It just reboots. Any solutions to this (last resort is factory reset)?
View 3 Replies View RelatedEvery few days texting takes on a life of its own, starts randomly and rapidly composing nonsensical strings of letters and words which I cannot stop. The X/erase button does not work. Putting my finger within the text results in green trails. I must turn off or restart my phone to stop this behavior.
Have had the phone about 2 weeks; only added 2 apps - weather underground and pedometer which did not affect the phone at time of adding them.
I close my apps faithfully, having learned to do that when my phone started flashing webpages rapidly as well as the text feature going wonky.
Also, some text messages have to be downloaded to read them.
Earlier this week I updated my edge to 5.1.1. Ever since I randomly get the error message "unfortunately hangouts has stopped". I have never used hangouts and it has been disabled since the day I got my phone. I tried clearing the cache and it still happens. I use the stock texting app and have never even looked at hangouts. I tried to diagnose what was causing this, but it happens at random times.

At first i thought it might be a security feature that takes a photo when someone attempts to unlock the phone using the fingerprint scan but i tested this and it didn't work. View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got a Galaxy S6 Edge and it isn't vibrating when I get an email to my main inbox. It is vibrating as it should for texts and calls, but not emails. However, it is updating when I get an email to my junk email. Over the last couple days I've had a couple loaner phones (due to my provider sending the wrong phones) and the S5 I had was vibrating when I got emails but neither the S6 or S6 Edge (which I have now) would vibrate for emails. Is there some setting I need to change so I get emails to vibrate?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using my S6 edge with a hosted Exchange account and the default Samsung e-mail app. I have a number of e-mails (currently, 14) in my in-box that will not be deleted on my phone. If I delete them on the phone, they reappear there later! The same messages do not appear anywhere else when I access my Exchange account (Outlook, iPad, etc.) So, it is definitely something specific to the phone's e-mail app. (I've used three previous Samsung phones without this issue.)

I have a question. I removed my e-mails using web-mail on a computer but the e-mails still show up on the phone. I have manually sync'd the phone multiple times and they are still there. Why this is the case (My phone shows 250+ e-mails and when I log onto web-mail, I have about 20, which is correct)?

On my Homescreen Instead of 3G/GPRS/EDGE it gives me edge/3g/gprs Which means that BIS isnt activated on my account.I cannot access my Email or Browser because the BIS is not activated,I called my Carrier "Etisalat" Customer support nearly 20 times, And Everytime they Ask me to remove the battery and re-plug! Last time i checked they told me that in their systems it appeared my blackberry's BIS was indeed activated, But on my BB it was still edge, So I think the problem might be from the BB/Sim Card.I have been having this problem 2 months now and I would really appreciate your help.FYI i have tried all these steps(but didn't work):

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using bb 8110 pearl and I used bis plan 2 months ago and everything worked fine for me and I deactivated and 1 month ago I reactivated it but edge is showing in small letters and I called 2 service provider and they told me my plan is activated and it is same as what I was using before. I did everything like battery pull out, wipe out, upgrade and downgrade and sending registration message from host routing table and also tried on-pff data services. I am calling daily service provider but they said my plan is activated and working but I cant get use anything. I read somewhere if pin is blocked by rim then cant use net services. But I don't know even if mine is blocked. In status I can see pin and imei.

BIS is set up to forward messages that do not meet filters.This just started happening today, I'm not receiving random emails! It's been working fine for weeks! So starting today, I would be in a conversation with someone, and I won't get a reply. That person sends me another email asking if I got his last email... coming back home and checking (Apple Mail) I realize I'm missing some other emails today as well. Again, some emails reach my Blackberry, others don't! No rhyme or reason as to why this is happening.

The only other galaxy I can check the message settings against is an S3 but everything is set up the same so is this just an S2 issue or am I missing something? It is highly annoying and even saving the correct words into the dictionary doesn't work.

Whenever I type a word with an apostrophe (I'll, we'll, Don't etc) the regular on board keyboard corrects it to something like I'I'll we'we'll and don'don't every time. I have, when I've noticed the suggestion appear, attempted to delete these words from the user dictionary but they keep coming back. I can't even find access to the entire user dictionary to delete there, just the suggestion bar.
It's very annoying as I keep getting doubled words when typing fast. It's only happening on apostrophe words and I never "taught" those words to my phone.
It's like it is trying to correct by replacing the correct word's last letter with the entire word.
I can't find an option to add words to my personal dictionary. When I tap an underlined word, it just shows more word options. I've even gone to language and input in the settings tab; the option isn't available there either.
